The thing that still blows my mind is that, researching on old websites from big chinese companies we still discover more and more knockoffs. Some are absolutely impossible to find, and theres no video or picture apart from the stock picture from the original website. I own almost 70 of these, ill never get tired of collecting them all :)

Love that some people have hooked Billy Bass up to their Alexas so you can now converse with it. :D

Nowadays you can find good old Billy at antique stores also a lot of them have problems like split gears circuit board issues corroded battery contacts and so on

in 1998 they made a early version that just sings take me to the River

I love this! I use to collect then as a kid and stil have them around today in a box

My family had one of those when I was a kid. I remember the voice having severely degraded, and it could only sing "don't worry, be happy"

Nice! Two small corrections though, 1. There was also a billy that sang jingle bells and up on the housetop. Also, Frankie was also made by Gemmy.

I'm surprised it was sold at Spencer's because it's a singing bass that sings Don't Worry Be Happy

Oh wow that video is from ages ago. I guess it's nice that people are still finding it. Thanks for following up and finding your way to this one, I'm happy you liked it. I hope to make more stuff when I have some time. This was my first video in years but I really find myself enjoying it again so who knows what the future holds. :)

Haha, I have the same story to tell. I looked up the Karnaaj game and your video was there. I find your review style very relaxing; not this over the top fast talking general KZread video's but calm and informative. I hope you keep on making videos. You got a new subscriber.

XD i found one at a goodwill outlet and it still works and its in perfect cosmetic condition

Fun fact when the Original Big Mouth Billy Bass was being designed he was just a normal fish on a generic plaque but the workers at gemmy hated it because it moved weird so then the Creator of the big mouth Billy Bass went to Japan and asked workers over there to make a new design and they turned it to what we have today

I was leaving the school bus and it went to my mom work to drop me off. Then I was walking around. And I went to the workshop. They had a billy bass and it didn’t had a motion sensor, I’ve wanting those and I got it. Then I don’t wanna turn it on. Memories

yea big mouth billy bass has always been my favorite gemmy item, along with the douglas fir, i personally own the 2000 version, which is quite rare and i own a knockoff which is pretty rare itself, the 2000 version goes up for about for 200$ but due to the exterior, it would probably be a major downfall and the knockoff, idk how much

I collect these. Some of the knockoff ones are rare and sell for over hundreds of dollars.

I have a singing bass plaque that I've had for maybe 20 years or so. It's not a Billy Bass, and there is no writing on it front or back. It takes 4 D batteries. It sings songs & says phrases like: "Excuse me, what are you looking at? Haven't you ever seen a talking fish on a plaque before", "Take a picture, it will last longer", "I'm just curious, do you people ever dust?" , "Hey baby, how about a kiss", the song Pretty woman but Pretty Fishy", "Pardon me, but would you let me know if you see that cat around here again" and around 10 other things. Also this bass is facing to the right on an oval plaque. All the others I see are facing to the left. Do you have any info on the make of this? Thanks

Altair Ramar The fish you describe is a rare knockoff fish called boogie bass. He’s 20 years old, not 30. They’re larger than regular billy basses and their plaques are more of a shade of dark brown. He says other stuff like “Ohhh what is that smell?” And “I must say Kim the best lookin thing hangin in this house” some boogie basses came with an exclusive CD that has some neat extra tunes, but those are extremely scarce. Boogie bass is awesome.

Altair Ramar Fully working is rare for boogie; also the skin usually deteriorates on them rather quickly compared to other fish. He was made in 1999/2000. A good condition boogie with good skin is probably worth around $45-$65

thats boogie bass. it was sold at cvs and on tv after billy bass was.

I never knew this thing got this... big? Still hard to imagine anyone would buy such a piece of tat for anything more than a (rather pricy) joke present or something. Don't think it ever really caught on over here, though not for a lack of trying, as I do remember the advertisements. I've only ever seen one hanging around somewhere though... and it was low on batteries, which makes them great horror props as well lol. Also... who'd you pay to open up that cave entrance? How was their service? I might need a boulder moved myself.

Ummm... make random videos when I have time mostly. This was just a one off video for a class project, I wont be making more of this "series" but I may make more videos in the near future about whatever interests me at the time. Which may include videos like I made in the past about gaming. Only time will tell.
