I would like to say, there is so much being said about contacting the energy company, I am with EDF energy and they have switched over to a virtual assistant, you cannot get a chat person any more and it has been like that since March, and you get a message about being respectful, that is before you get through, then the virtual assistant just says they are unable to understand what you want and that is it. s good look with getting hold of EDF energy for anything at all.

If you have got a smart meter, and are thinking of not paying, you might like to know that these meters allow your supplier to disconnect you at the press of a button. they no longer need to come round to do so.

I am fairly sure there aren't as many idiots as you think there are. The "Don't Pay UK" campaign is directed at people on direct debit contracts. If you really don't know the difference you should educate yourself because even this seemingly helpful comment about smart meters lacks understanding.

Christ we know WHY they're going up ffs, what we want to know is how and IF they'll ever start coming down, this is just simply unsustainable

How do you justify the delivery rates of electricity as the same amount or more of electricity used when in the past there was no insane amount of charge

You can’t get through to them normally.

In the USA average gasoline ( petrol ) çosts only $3.86 per gallon. 90 cents per liter...diesel is still above 5- adding to food costs.

As Britain is not dependent on Russian Oil or Gas until this crisis is over a new British formula is needed to work out the cost of electricity and gas considering if the electricity companies own marketing material is to believed, Take EON for example all their domestic customers power is from renewable sources like wind, solar and biomass. So if a new flat rate charge not basing it on the current gas rate less the green taxes and vat. Just the amount it costs to generate plus 10 percent for operating costs. the country would be able to weather this crisis. Same could theoretically be done with the gas for domestic consumption.

First to comment and say it cost me nearly £50 in gas to have 3 showers of approximately 15 minutes each. What is coming is terrifying. Tip if your having trouble with your energy supplier, get in touch with your local MP. It helped me earlier this year.

If the energy firms are making more money than ever it would seem to me that there is an enormous profit in the oil/ gas they buy so why rip us off.

The "energy firms" are not the same thing as the "oil and gas producers". It is the OIL & GAS companies making the massive profits. If you don't understand the difference go educate yourself before you make a fool of yourself AGAIN.

For UK 90% of these rises has got nothing to do with Russia's fascist invasion of Ukraine. Also, it's not like you can get a deal with Putin at this point in time for the last 10%. You're deluding yourself if you think sh*tting on Ukraine can make your bills more manageable. Petition your government, they're the ones doing nothing to help you
