Although I understand...I find it kind of sad that tamburellos gone.... RIP Ayrton, we’ll never forget you

The long flat out run from Rivazza down to Tamburello kind of almost makes up for it a little bit though.

@@eamonahern7495 Yeah, that's some consolation. I loved the panning camera shot from the outside wall of old Tamburello when the cars roared by at 260-270kmh, it really gave an impression of speed and excitement. This new longer straight section from Rivazza to Tamburello will see plenty of action, I'm sure.
Everyone hearing Hamilton has raced here before: Win #93 Me hearing that Gasly pre-season tested here and remembering he won the Italian GP: 😏

Yeah I can't think of Imola or San Marino GP without remembering what happened on that tragic weekend in late April - May 1994.

Let people enjoy the good moments of F1 history rather than dragging up the death of one driver, when another 2 crashed in a similar manner, one of them also losing their life, at every given opportunity.

Its a amazing circuit but not really suited for F1 especially at the current regs.
Considering it gave us the best F1 race ever since Bahrain 2021😁, I'd say Imola has earned its place 😊 Unforgiving is the best way to describe it

If it's a good race f1 should keep it on normal calender. Imola is like Monza, Monaco or Spa, too much F1 history happened on this track to be forgotten and moved on. 2022 cars will suit this track even more.

I remember watching that race as well it was sad weekend
This is fun track, lot of laps done (in old (with last chicken) but not that old layout). Really like "fast left, fast-right->slow-right->uphill section in middle".
I love these guide videos!
my experience racing at imola in racing games it is a fantastic track, easy to learn and high speed all the way through braking zones are easy to memorize and overall its good for battles all the tight turns leading to long straights will make for fantastic racing this race i am definitely looking out for
I remember playing F1 1999 on the playstation against my brother, and would always push up on the inside of him on the corners and 'bumper car' his Mclaren out of the way, great memories ... sorry Matt
I was surprised how different it seems and how quick they made changes in 1995
Lewis and others have commented on what a fantastic track it is - old school and al, the better for it but it makes it pretty difficult to overtake even with the one DRS section which begs the question if tracks like this will quietly disappear when things get back to normal. I'm optimistic that with the rule changes in 2022 and the reintroduction of ground effect cars which will allow cars to run closer together that will help tracks like Imola stay on the calendar as I'm with Toto on this one about detesting the Tilke car park tracks that are so wide with huge run off areas which are becoming the norm.
Love this track in assetto corsa
It isn't only Raikonnen who has raced there - Alonso is back
Not everything COVID-19 has brought us has been bad, we've lost some ordinary tracks and gained some absolute cracking tracks.
thanks mate

I think DRS assisted passes between the second Rivazza and the braking zone for Tamburello are where you're going to see the most passing. Acque Minerale has never been a spot for overtaking. There might be a sneaky overtake at Tosa, though...in the old days, you might see Senna and Prost trying to outbrake each other going into Tosa.
@maxster10

You'll just have to try it in a simulator, but I would fully expect them to take it flat at or near 300kmh. It would be impressive to see, no doubt, as long as they stayed out of the wall.

Hai. Just wanna ask, why in the past, f1 named this track as San Marino. But today they named it as Imola Italy? San Marini is a different country right? Sorry newbie here.

i'll answer even if it's been one year, (im from Imola) so basically San Marino has nothing to do with Imola, but since there was already the italian gp in Monza they called it San Marino which is another country really close to Imola
i need to go practice tosa
The old track before 1995 is better.
Great track, great history, great country. Just another winning circuit for #44LH to collect, massively disappointed.
where are the driver ratings?

I don't think the race would be interesting, there are literally only 1 or 2 overtaking spots. Most overtaking would be done on drs straights. But this might also come back to bite me who knows 😂😂. Still would be better than sochi and catalunya

It’s a fast circuit that heavily punishes its drivers for messing up with its gravel traps. Like Mugello, this GP is looking to be one of high attrition, and we’ll probably be seeing a lot more accidents than on-track action.

Not this year it ain't.
With these modifications done to the circuit, my grandfather can race on it. The Tamburello could have been "softened" in the event of a going off. Same can be said of the Villeneuve curve. This is why F.1 doesn't excite anymore. More than 90% of the original tracks have disappeared or have been modified to the point of being ridiculous.
BOT to go one better than merely topping nonessential sessions?
Shit, i cant see the circuit and not be sad about Senna, i want to but its impossible :/
Autòdromo not autodròmo
probably lots of noise complain
Villeneuve chicane should be removed, the track would be awesome without it.
There will definitely be a red flag.
Just turn to the next chicken like Pierre will do it
It's not Jedi Master of Aerodynamics fault. It's Max Mosley's bad leadership. The the last time I was watching the race. I was in my school year. Back in my days. Cars aren't as speedy as the last.
Who is here after Vettel took Pole in Imola 2020?
Fernando Alonso should be forced to give back his 2008 Singapore win. It was a disgraceful, undeserved act of cheating. Why hasn't this been done yet?
