EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE ALAAFIN OF OYO, HIS MONARCH & MANY WIVES

Ойын-сауық

On Wednesday, April 15, Social Media was set ablaze following reports that Alaafin of Oyo’s youngest wife, Olori Ola was sent packing from the palace over an alleged affair with Legendary Fuji Musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall(KWAM I).
While the news was still strong in the air, the Fuji star who was recently conferred with the ‘Mayegun of Yoruba land’ title by the Alaafin of Oyo came out to deny the reports vehemently. He stated that the affair report is not only untrue but the work of people who wish to tarnish his image and embarrass the Alaafin of Oyo. Equally, the 30-year-old Olori swore that she had nothing to do with the fuji maestro and she left the palace on her own terms.
Although their revelations seem to have quieted the fire on social media, it made the Alaafin of Oyo even more popular and got everyone curious about him.
If you’re wondering why the 81 years old monarch youngest wife is 30 only 30 years of age with three kids, Why the Alaafin has so many wives, his lavish lifestyle, and more, we’ve done our research! Grab a seat because we’re ready to entertain you.
The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III is the ceremonial leader of the ancient Oyo Town. He was born on October 15, 1938, and is the rightful heir to the 600-year-old throne of the historic Oyo Empire of Yoruba land. He mounted the throne of his forefathers on November 18, 1970, when he defeated ten other contenders and took over from his predecessor, Oba Gbadegesin Ladigbolu II.
His father, Oba Adeniran Adeyemi II is the famous King who was deposed and exiled in 1954 by the then-government for having a conflicting political standing. The Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, is not the only King that has been deposed and exiled due to political reasons.
Unlike many heirs to the throne, Alaafin of Oyo began his first training with Quranic and Christian knowledge education at the age of five. He then furthered his royal training at various monarchs’ homes. While he was to study law in the United Kingdom, he was forced to study in Nigeria as his father passed away just a few hours to his departure. He later became an insurance executive in Lagos.
As well known, the Alaafin of Oyo is a brilliant man. Anyone who has ever heard him speak would never deny this fact as his words are always weighty. Describing him as an enigma would still be an understatement. It is no wonder he remains the most powerful and influential king in Yoruba land.
What does Alaafin mean? Alaafin simply means ‘Man of the Palace. It is equally the official title of the King of the Medieval Oyo Empire which is today known as Oyo Town. Unlike now where the Alaafin is a ceremonial leader, in ancient times, the Alaafin is an absolute ruler, and his power is throughout the Yoruba land. This is the reason the Alaafin of Oyo is rated as one of the highest-ranking kings in Yoruba land today.
While many people argue who the superior King is between the Ooni of Ife and the Alaafin of Oyo, many other kings have admitted that they recognise the Ooni of Ife as the superior King. This leaves the Alaafin of Oyo as the second superior King.
Other titles of the Alaafin of Oyo include Ekeji Orisha meaning ‘second in command to the gods,’ Alashe meaning ‘he who wields authority.’ Kabiyesi meaning ‘the king who no one can question,’ and Iku Baba Yeye meaning ‘the one who can command death or the one who can pronounce death on his mother and father.’

The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 1:14 that I have seen all the works that have been done under the sun : and behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit. May God visit all these obas with salvation so that they will not end up in lake of fire which is the second death. Revelations 21 :8.

Let's not fool ourselves. Viagra and it's similarities are wonder drugs. The younger wives had to produce a child to stay viable. If he wasn't monied, those girls wouldn't be interested. African old men like younger women, it's reflected in the movies.

@Joseph Carty The qualifications given to this phenomenon isn't important. The cultural differences here cannot be overstated. I clearly respect those who openly embrace this way of life and celebrate it. I believe it's better than just saying "I'm married but we can have fun - nothing serious, just a swing, fuck mates, one night stands, ...".

I have counted up to 10 wives on social media networks as against the 7 wives we read online. I am glad to have this clip supporting my position that the Alaafin has more than 10 wives. Good journalism, please keep it up.

let's set this shit straight, this man like many other kings in Africa use their money and power and the so call sponsorship for education system to get young women to marry them, without their money none of these poor pretty girls would even look their way, for you Americans and everyone else born outside of mother Africa who are thinking of moving back the motherland, there are a few things you need to realize, while in the west having more then 1 wife is seen as polygamy in African countries and other parts of the world it is legal, some of you commenting in the comments section may have a problem with this, but to them it's a normal thing, if you are going to marry an African man you need to prepare yourself mentally to accept that he can and IS ALLOWED TO HAVE MORE THAN 1 WIFE! especially if he is a successful man, so if you are going to migrate to the motherland you better throw out that one woman mentality away because otherwise, you will have a miserable life if you can't accept the African traditions.

There are so many Have Nots in this world, why can't people like this King do more for his community and world? It is written in the scriptures "To whom much is given, much is expected" I am happy to see the King and his many wives. May the almighty God continue to guide and protect him and his family.

This post is purely a click-bait! Do a proper research before posting errors about Yoruba tradition unto a global platform! Alaafin in old times was an emperor over the Oyo Empire which extended even beyond today's SW Nigeria, into neighbouring West African nations where the Yoruba lang is still widely spoken today. 'Alaafin' means the absolute owner and sovereign of the Palace, not the nonsensical 'man of the Palace'! How can you interpret 'Iku baba, yeye' as one that wields power of death over his own parents? Wrong. No Alaafin is ever crowned while his own father lives! I'm miffed!
