I love it in Spokane. I have family there, but I live in Norway. About 1,5 hours south of Oslo. So now the only thing to do is to figure out how to move Spokane to Norway!

Thanks for your comments and kinds words. If you're an RN, there's gotta be a job for you here with all of our great hospitals and other healthcare facilities in the region. Most are in the Spokane proper area, but there are also hospitals in the Valley, NW, and North Spokane.

One of my sons just moved there with his newly wed wife. He grew up in southern Oregon and went to UND for college. They said the gas tax is high that they go to Idaho to fill-up. Now you've told us the good. How about a video of telling us the bad and the ugly of living in Spokane WA! Almost all cities have homeless people. Reading others comment 200% high crime rate compared to national average and high auto theft rate really resulting high auto insurance premium?

Thanks for watching my video and for your comments, samfungccim. This video, my first produced about Spokane, was focused on all of the things to see and do here in Spokane that makes it special. If I did a "The Good and the Bad About Spokane" video, that might add another 5 minutes to what was already a lengthy video for most people's attention spans. If I did a video just about the negative aspects of Spokane, I would get just as many, if not more, comments from people about trashing Spokane. Can't win in this information age. Spokane is the second largest city in Washington state. Seattle is the largest. Seattle ranks #1 in crime per capita in Washington state; Spokane ranks #2. I just read this website that reports what are the top 10 most dangerous cities in Washington state: propertyclub.nyc/article/most-dangerous-cities-in-washington-state. Anyway, I don't care to argue about the crime topic. Perhaps in another video.

How do you think the air quality, high altitude, and distinct four season climate of the region overall would affect someone coming from Los Angeles? And does the city or metro area offer anything in the way of social services for lower income residents, such as affordable housing and public transportation?

I'm coming to live there but don't know how to get cheap house.

Don't eat at churchill's they will serve you a cold steak and the only place that will bring you a cold lobster . i have lived in spokane for over 50 years ,Spokane also has the 4 th highest auto theft in the country , And a crime rate 182% above the national rate , really bad homeless problem ,not safe to go downtown after dark and just elected a democrat for the new mayor , Other than that a great place to live bring the whole family !

I don’t live In Spokane but my mom does still. I’m here right now visiting for Thanksgiving holiday. Totally agree of the problems here. I live in Phoenix Arizona area. Phoenix has its crime as it’s a big city. But for Spokane to have the crime size it is very bad. I used to live in Spokane, I was here 1993-2001. In 1993, 30 years ago now when we moved to Spokane, was not like this crime wise at all, had a small city feel. Other than it being winter now, one thing is the homes here in the city seem so old and run down. Where I live in Gilbert Arizona, the houses and neighborhoods look great compared to here. I was surprised to hear a democrat being elected mayor for Spokane but also progressive individuals for the city council considering that the city overall tends to be conservative. But as voters have shown, they felt Nadine Woodward has not been able to handle all the challenges happening in the city, wanted different direction.

We ate at Churchills once, ONCE. The steaks were so black and burned we could not eat them. Not worth what they charge

Gosh, sorry to hear that you had a unpleasant experience at Churchill's. I just had dinner there two weeks ago with my wife and a couple I helped just close on a home here and our meal was magnificent. Still one of my favorites. Yes, crime and homelessness are up in Spokane...and in almost every mid-sized to large city in the U.S. Our state and national governments have not handled this difficult issue well.

Thanks for watching my video and for your reply to the comments above. Gilbert, AZ is in a beautiful area where green is the color year round, not the 4 full seasons we experience here. I also just read that Gilbert has doubled in population every five years between 1980-2000, so many newer homes added to the lovely landscape. Spokane was incorporated in 1881 and during our springs, summers, and falls is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful cities in America.

@@LifeinSpokane I would agree Spokane is beautiful place, time to visit is during the warmer months late spring into summer. Gilbert, AZ has seen huge growth. In 1980, population was about 5000, today population is 273,000. Spokane has about 229,000 in population. Gilbert has small but more vibrant downtown area and to this day more development is occurring there. Where I live i am close to two other suburbs of Phoenix, Mesa, AZ and Chandler, AZ.

I moved to Spokane in 1972 and raised my kids there. We moved tk the Portland area 20 yrs ago but went bAckto Spokane over that time. What a change and not for the better. Yes many auto thefts and chop shops and home robberies. We went to a Ramada Hotel on Sullivan and while we were there, there was a murder in the parking lot. Pay good money for a hotel if visiting. This new Spokane Valley is nothing like before. But what do i know? We live 25 miles away from Portland where we have anarchy downtown burning buildings and shooting people. We want to get back to N. Idaho and Spokane Valley!!🤣🤗

Some years ago, I tried to listen to some Macklemore songs but when the first song started with him talking (and no doubt lying) about the size of his penis -- or was he talking about his pet chicken? -- I felt very embarrassed for the city of Seattle and I have never listened to anything by him since. But hopefully he has matured out of being big idiot.
