Very informative. Constructive criticism: try to watch how many times you say "ummm". count how many times you say it in the first two minutes. But I look forward to seeing more.

Crabs are active critters especially at night, they need rock work to crawl around and small holes to hide themselves. There's times where my crab will sit in a spot for 2 months and then there's times where he dosent stop crawling around. Having rock work with spaces allow them to hide when stressed or threatened.

I have a question that I can't exactly find an answer for. Anyways the story goes, I bought a couple fish last week Sunday for my 10 gallon salt water tank. I got one Royal Gramma, a black and white clownfish, and an Emerald Crab. Before I had gotten them about a couple hours prior, I cleaned my tank after about a month poor maintenance. There was red algae, bubble algae and I didn't really change the filters. At the time I only had one Diamond Watchman goby who is still doing well. After I changed about half the water approximately 5 gallons, I changed the decor. I have 3 plastic plants and a plastic rock there are no live plants or liverock. I removed the live rock because I noticed that no matter how much i cleaned the tank the red algae returns quicker and more abundantly so I switched it up. Longstory short. I cleaned the tank changed the water and decor and I let my aquena quiet flow 20 cycle the 10 gallon tank for a couple of hours and went and got my new aquarium. The purple gramma and emerald crab where in one back and I set the bag in the tank, no drip acclimation just temperature acclimation. After about 20 minutes I dumped them into a bucket that had the same water I had put into the tank just a few hours prior cause the lady said not to mix the water in the tank. As soon as they were in the bucket I grabbed them with the net and dropped them into the tank. If I recall correctly the temperature was a little bit low at around 60-65°F. I did the same with the clownfish. They seemed to settle ok, the gramma and the crab went into the plastic rock and the clownfish went to a specific corner. The crab didnt seem to move around even when I would feed the others. I was hoping as the week passed by he would move around more and pick up the scrap mysis. He seemed to eat very little or not at all. A week goes by and the crab moves mostly out of sight for a couple of days. I was getting concerned so I moved the rock grabbed the net to see if he was alive. No movement at all, the moth parts werent moving the claws werent going after the net. He was dead. I searched forums to see if I could find an answer but no luck. My assumption is the temperature was too cold and i did not acclimate him correctly and I did it at too cold of a temperature. Tmrw I will try again and purchase another crab, I hope that it goes better. In the mean time i have set up the heater to make sure the temp is between 70-75°. If anyone has any more advice or information please let me know here or at thooton123@gmail.com

Your water was too cold. 72 would be the bottom end. Also remove plastic plants as they have no benefits for the tank except your eye appeal and last thing you need is them eating plastic. Also remove the fake rock and put cured live rock in your tank. The rock isn't the reason for red algie. Algie cycles through the tank, and with proper tank maintenance in can be eliminated. Also dose vibrant as well to help keep the tank clean. In this video you can see I have green algie with turn red witch could be cyno bacteria witch chemiclean dosage will take cre of that.

They are opportunistic scavengers. If they run out of algae to graze on and all other options are gone and you don't supply additional food, they will go after coral. I learned the hard way when one of mine started going after my zoas one night due to a lack of algae in my tank. There have been reports of some simply going rogue and going after corals but this seems to be pretty uncommon.
