Since the 7dtd devs only seem to care about making the game less fun, I find the concepts of this mod really interesting and exciting, even if it may need some balancing. Our group is excited to try. Thanks for the showcase! Edit: plus there are boats! which is something I've wanted in 7dtd FOREVER

@@MrOnepiece14 I've had since one of the earliest alphas, and it was marketed then as a "survival horror" and it was pretty brutal, but learning to survive made that fun. Now it's more of a "survival RPG" and the survival is a lot easier. (We still enjoy that, personally, but understand original backers being upset by this). Every time the players find an "exploit" to make the game more fun or easier, the devs intentionally code it out and make that not useful anymore. (For example, you used to be able to make an underground base, and zombies couldn't find you. Now they will dig down to find you no matter what. Again, maybe this makes the game "more fun" but it directly impacted the more casual player that wanted to focus more on base building and didn't want to have to worry about zombies destroying their stuff.) There's been instance after instance of this occurring over the many many years this game has been in development, and some people are just sick of it. Take that, coupled with broad sweeping changes that cripple certain playstyles (ie the new water update they're planning that'll water exponentially harder to get will basically eliminate certain weapon play styles entirely) being responded to condescendingly and less than kind when players talk to the developers about their concern....there's a lot of upset people that feel the fun pimps keep souring the game. The game feels like it's going from this super open world/open playstyles type game to a singular experience that only the devs want to play. (My way or the highway, if you will) That said, we've put HUNDREDS of hours into this game in its various forms, and it's still really darn fun. If you like what the game is now, by all means enjoy the game! It's great! But just 'cause you were curious, a cliff-noted essay for you. :) This mod is also awesome.

@@cimmerianmuse13 I dont understand your issue with zombies finding you underground. Just built a seperate forge/crafting room in the udnerground and keep your base above ground. Simple as that. its good that they update the game in terms of the ai , the zombies are supposed to be a constant challenge or otherwise it would get boring. but i personally don't like the fact that the game allows you to level up in an rpg manner instead of action skills. Undead Legacy mod took a good approach to this by adding action skills, and perk points only level up your ability to do a specific thing. Whilst crafting is limited to schematics solely. So the game feels longer and much more engaging.

Very helpful especially on the guns, usually I stick with the regular stuff cuz I was unaware of what ammo the others took and if they were powerful enough to bother with.😄 Good vid, I'm anxious to see ur play-throughs.😊👍🏾

personally darkness falls is my favorite as it not only has insanely difficult demons to fight, but it keeps your base building skills on edge.

@@SchizoetryOfficial hmm, I personally used the 7D2D mod launcher to download the mod. I haven't tried doing it manually. Did you try looking in the description of GNS's video for a link? He normally does manual installs and always shares the mod links in his vids.

@@benoficialgaming yes that's the site I tried it at. It seems any large file refuses to download there but smaller files work fine. I decided to go with Apocalypse Now because the NexusMods version of this mod is extremely outdated, and Nexus Mods is still working for large files.

So I'm playing with alpha 21 and I'm pretty sure I looted a hind helicopter at a tier one pass and gas I didn't have a helicopter and I didn't even noticed it until I got home and started putting stuff away

Should be able to just leave it there and it will give you eggs daily. I don't think you have to do anything other than just placing it outside.

@@rangergreen1935 that's a good question. I didn't bother farming on my playthrough because I was able to gather so many resources. This mod gives so much loot and dukes that I never had to worry about food. My guess would be that since it doesn't have the same system as DF, that you should be able to plant and harvest similar to vanilla.

I noticed this was put out during Alpha 20. Is this video still relevant for Alpha 21? Im on day 5 and although i do like the differences is zombies and the classes. Its still a little confusing to me. So would this still be helpful for A21?

I think certain elements might be, but I haven't had a chance to play enough of the updated version yet to say exactly what. I'll eventually put an A21 version of this video up once I can get enough time with it, but you should check out TBF's channel. He is currently doing a playthrough for this mod.

Any tips on the installation ? I ve tried to use the mod launcher that I use for Undead Legacy (wich works) but on the this mod all I have when launching the games in tons of red line in the console .... Not very user friendly like !

Hmm, I used the mod launcher too. Only thing I would say is make sure the mod version is updated to the version of vanilla that you're running and using to create a copy for the mod. When I was playing WotW, I was using alpha 20.5.

Download the mod for whichever version u use (beta/stable), then unzip it. Then place the mod into your mods folder in 7days. If you do not have a mod folder, create one that says Mods

@@texastwostepgaming The mod launcher does that fine already. As I mentionned, I use it for other overall mods like UD and Raven. I even manually installed Rebirth so the all process is not foreign to me. Only WOTW gives tons of red line on the console at the start and during the play, so I moved on but thanks for the input :)

That's a good question. I never lost any of them with anything in their inventory so I couldn't say, but I would hope they would drop a bag.

I actually am going to. Currently doing a series for it and I'll do an overview after I'm done with the series.

Honestly, while I prefer the more balanced part of normal 7 Days to Die (Half looting, half shooting), I might give this mod a try if I'm ever in the mood for guns and glory.

I know a lot of people prefer the game to be more challenging and immersive, but I had fun with this mod. I think it does give way to much loot and the NPC AI can be improved, but all in all I enjoyed it.

@@WillieWayne Hmm, did you install the mod/modlets manually or through the mod launcher? Only thing I can think of is you might have another mod in your folder that's clashing with the weapons mod for WoTW.

Once you have a fully modded FN P90 and many followers with guns, You are an undefeatable God. Oh, the Ragnarock hammer is a Godsent weopen.

The P90 does 136 damage. It holds 54 rounds. Everything is dead. My boys are carrying M60s. BBBBBBBad to the bone.

I played again today. I saw that my P90 has gone up to 152 damage per round.

Honestly at the time I wasn't sure if they functioned the way they were intended so I wasn't sure to mention it. I am going the AI gets a little more work for them though.

It's a mod with lots of time and effort put into it, but what does it do that makes you want to play it? Undead legacy is all about crafting and management, darkness falls is intentionally hard with an actual end game to work to. War of the walkers is.... extra bells and whistles and no balancing for those, leading to an experience that is no longer a survival game. You'll be OP by the first horde night, and it stays that way.

Pretty much. I'd say it's more for casual players who want more than what vanilla offers. It's definitely not a long term mod for most, but certainly entertaining and different enough to enjoy short term.

Does anyone know how the birdnest tree is supposed to work?

You need a hammer/nail gun. The axe doesn't upgrade in this mod.

Yup. I played it with alpha 20.5, but I know GNS is currently doing a series on it as well and I'm sure he's using 20.6.

"Reusable"? I think they mean CONSUMABLE. Glad to see a new over haul, since TFP are trying to kill the game slowly.

While the video was *great,* I'll give a pass on the mod, itself. I am more into gritty, intense realism--i.e. I'm mouse in a house full of hungry cats†--and it seems to be too focussed on stuffing in unrealistic mechanisms and, watching the beginning of GNS's series, I noticed that the hireable NPC mechanism--while a *brilliant* idea--needs some work. (Only 1000 Dukes to buy their loyalty forever? WTH?!?) † To see what floats *my* boat, I suggest watching Tony Panemony's UL series where he cranks the difficulty up to 15 and snaps off the knob: kzread.info/dash/bejne/a62l2I-hf7XHgto.html

I do think it makes it too easy to form a squad of NPCs early on. I feel like that should maybe be something that you can't do until you're a certain level. I'll have to check out Tony's series. I do enjoy seeing people push the difficulty up. Makes for very entertaining content.

As they are mercenaries, paying them by the day/week--instead of a one-time payment--would make sense. If you don't pay them on time, they will take what you owe them out of your stuff plus 20%-starting with the most valuable stuff first, of course!, then leave. I think that that would be the best "Yes, but..." method to handle it. Players would need to think carefully about hiring *AND* they would want to invest in lockable storage for their most valuable goods just in case something happens.

Honestly, I dislike the hireable NPCs aspect too. I think a good way to balance it would be to have a loyalty system, where cheaper hirelings would be more likely to betray you or silently pilfer your belongings, and more expensive hirelings would lay their life on the line for you.

its a cool mod but for me it seems so bloated and that discourages me, also the guns are clunky
