H J 🙄 love when ppl are so obsessed with something that they relate everything back to it and assume people can’t come up with creative things on their own. She has always been like this...literally her whole life, she’s been a storyteller. This isn’t something new for her. She’s always used symbolism and clues in her music videos because those types of things are naturally how she sees life. I’m the same way, and if I could make music videos, I could see myself doing the same thing because I view life very much through this kind of lens and making connections etc. We are all different, and just because some people show creativity in similar ways DOESNT mean that is what inspired them. Unless she said it, don’t assume it...same goes for anybody, don’t assume anything with anybody and realize that everybody has a different perspective individual to their experiences/interests/life/personality/background/struggles/opportunities/traumas/and unique self etc. As the saying goes, _when we assume, we make an ass outta u and me._

I love Taylor's music and I agree that her songs use lots of metaphors and are very emotional but I don't think you should bring other artists down in order to be able to compliment Taylor. There are lots of great artists who write songs about meaningful things

I think the flashing lightning during the rough waters scene could also symbolize the flashes of paparazzi cameras just watching and photographing the whole thing while she is drowning in one of the roughest times of her life

Based on the music video. 0:20 -- The clock with its arrows pointing at number 1 and 3. Yes, 13. Easter egg. Did you also notice the number *8* on the clock which is somehow being highlightened if you look at it closely? Easter egg! She might be releasing something new any day around the month of August which is the 8th month. 3:45 -- Stars on her cardigan. These has been an easter egg since her Lover era. Remember that one blue outfit with white stars on it that she wore for the album cover photoshoot session? How about those shiny colorful stars on her black themed outfit when she performed on BBC Radio 1 last year? There's also more, other than those examples. 2:02 -- Lines in the song "to kiss in cars and downtown bars was all we needed" *I'm drunk in the back of the car and I cried like a baby coming home from the bar* "you drew stars around my scars but now I'm bleeding" *and if I bleed you'll be the last to know* Going back to the star symbols! ☆☆☆ These lines in the song must be her easter eggs as well. ALSO I’ve watched the clip several times and considering they used CGI for this clip, by time she climbed into the seat her whole dress should have been inside as well, but you see a paper plane being formed and she goes down. With CGI you can get all the little details hence why it’s used for scenes like this. Having her dress make a paper plane is not a coincidence, it’s done on purpose I believe. Another Easter egg!
