Just got mine in the mail today. kzread.infoUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U The corners of the box was a little smashed but I think that’s more of the shipping’s fault. iPad was in perfect condition though. I ordered the yellow one thinking it was going to be a bright vibrant color. Instead I looks like more of a Gold color. I personally prefer the gold look. Definitely not disappointed but just a heads up to the ones expecting a brighter cream of yellow.

As you mentioned, my biggest complaint with 8 gen iPad is the base model is 32 gigs. I get they want to keep prices down, but 32 gigs in 2020 is a joke. 64 gigs should be minimum. Everything else on this iPad looks great!

hopefully one of the upgrades next year is 64gb base storage. for me, the base model iPad costs 429 because 32gb just isn't feasible so I act like that model doesn't exist.

Your level of productivity is amazing. Hoping to build shortcuts skills up over the next few months, so have playlisted your videos! Have just ordered an iPad 8 to throw in my bag, it looks remarkably good value. I really like the bezels, makes it easier to hold, don’t think the New Air is for me at this stage.

I got this as a gift for Christmas and it is really good. All I had was a 5 year old Chromebook so this is a big improvement with a little Bluetooth keyboard. i was blessed to get the 128GB but I am putting everything in the cloud anyway. I definitely like it as a media device and note taker so far. It is perfect to read on and play games as well. Thanks for reviewing it!

Watching on the iPad, I had it for a while and I can say that it is great, the battery is great, performance too, and until now I don’t have any complaint

This is my first ipad and I bought it because I'm a writer and I got so tired of carrying my laptop with me. This this has helped sooo much. It really is like a mini laptop. I don't worry about space too much because my writing syncs with my laptop and phone so I can delete files from one device when I need to

I noticed that this version of the ipad (8th gen) only has Bluetooth 4.x while the others have version 5. I tried a bluetooth mouse with it and there seemed to be some lag. Does ver 5 reduce that lag and would a smart connector touch pad like the Logictech Combo Touch have less lag because it doesn't use Bluetooth?

I thought apple would ditch the lightning connection, it was after all promoting USB-C before the format had gained traction. That together with the ‘hollow’ sound when you tap the screen, I presume it’s the absence of lamination are minor issues it is well worth the money.

128GB for taking notes for school, emailing, lightly editing and saving higher res photos and video, pretty much anything for school and basic work. 32GB for entertainment purposes such as watching videos and playing games, still can work just as well as the 128GB if you keep bigger things stored in the cloud instead of locally on the iPad.

Thank you for mentioning what Xbox controller can pair with the device! I have been watching reviews and none of them mentioned that it HAS to be the series S or else it doesn't work. I'm currently waiting for my iPad to come in and that would have been a bummer for me to find out right then and there!

Ipad OS doesn’t have apps to use ssh services or use RDP. You need to have desktop OS to be able to do that.

Use mine to edit photos and use San disk I Xpand flash drives for storage.

How is excel or office 365 for this one?

I’m upgrading from the iPad mini 2 so I doubt I’ll notice any difference from this budget one to the fancy £600 ones. I’m currently running on 16gb and have looked at a Matt screen saver + external storage so it’s all good 😂

Tbh though now that I think of it is the 32gb version really that bad? Like I had this version for school and I just took notes and photos and had some apps but I still had plenty of space, and I assume it can be the same for offices and other students. And I have an older iPod model with 16gb of storage and it holds many photos and things like that. There should be more storage in the base model, 64gb is ideal but I think 32gb is enough, though idk

We bought this Generation of iPad for our kids for school. I went directly to the RAM upgrade. With 4 kids, we can’t buy them iPads every year. The kids have not had any hang ups with doing school on them.

This is why I bought 128gb off Amazon and gen 1 Apple Pencil for $519

Deciding on which storage size to get was super tricky for me. I have a 128GB Macbook Air and a 128GB iPhone XR. I really only use the mac for all school related stuff and for watching videos or netflix whenever I'm not lazy enough to carry it with me or whenever I get tired of streaming video on my iPhone screen (which is not often, maybe once a week). In short, my iPhone is my main tool for almost everything by far. I just wanted the iPad for recreational/not daily drawing on Procreate and reading digital books, maybe ocasional Netflix if at all. I got the 32GB hoping that it will be enough for those 3 things 🤞🏻😞 I've never had an iPad before so hopefully the 32GB one will hold up with those few activities, since I'm on a tight budget and can't really afford the 128GB these days.

Honestly it's not great in the sense that I have very few apps and those apps are not full of content, and yet I have around 19GB of storage left (13gb used, so almost halfway there). I find myself checking memory availability often and deleting stuff once a week because I'm terrified of running out of storage. It might just be me but I don't like going over half the available storage ever, so I'm constantly checking. I think just for peace of mind's sake, it's good to go for the larger storage iPad if you can. I'm gonna be super accurate as for the contents I have on my iPad just in case you want to get a grip on numbers here hehe: I have FaceTime (which I haven't used at all),Camera,Clock,Calendar,Voice Memos (empty),the App Store, iMessage (empty), Find My, Notes (1 short note), Books (1 book), Photos (17 screenshots), Files (empty), Netflix, Disney+, GoodNotes (1 notebook with 60 pages), Procreate (4 drawings on the medium-small canvases) and Settings.

Probably not but to be safe I’d go for 128GB I personally just bought 128GB not even worried about storage I barely use 20 GB on my phone but main reason I went for 128GB was the IOS software itself takes some storage

The iPad Air has been release and I’m stuck between that and the 8th gen. this is going to be a new tablet and I want to use it for watching Netflix,KZread and also start with digital art. I don’t like the design on the 8th gen the air just looks beautiful but want more storage but it cost more on the air. What would your advice be on this?

The base Air already comes with twice the storage of the base 8th gen. If that is all you are doing then 64gb should be plenty.

Will there be any problems during photo editing in Photoshop? Should I buy this for the sole purpose of photo editing?

I’m a student and I bought an ipad because they are more portable and you can always spring for the Apple Pencil which really helps with taking notes in class. The app selection is also way bigger and better than ChromeOS and Android.

Get the air. It will be more future proof. Plus it has the A14 and it's less expensive. Never mind the 120 hz display. It's only important for Apple Pencil and drawing stuff

@@Steve2x Ehhh, that's negotiable. For single core things the a14 is more powerful, and for multi core things the a12z is more powerful. Both are very very powerful

There is a reason that this iPad exist for certain people. The only thing is the base model low storage. I love my iPad Pro 2020.

No, the Air 3 is better. The Air has smaller bezels, a slightly larger and fully laminated display which has wider color range. It also has a larger base storage at 64 gb. Aside from that, everything else are basically the same.

If you’re not going to download a lot of apps or documents, then get the 8th gen. The 7th is good for more files though.
