WALL-E is one of those movies that honestly gets better as you get older because then you can truly appreciate the things you missed when you watched it earlier, especially the visual storytelling, themes, ambition, and authenticity. Not only do I think this is one of the greatest animated movies (my personal favorite animated movie along with Beauty and the Beast) I think this is one of the greatest movies period!

Actually the obesity would make sense on a generational vessel. You do have a point though, they wouldn't all be obese. Unless the vessel is equipped to simulate an approximation of Earth's gravity the best you could hope for is keeping muscles active. Without Earth's gravity, something we evolved around, the build up of fat via sugar intake would be rapid and impossible to get rid of. Barring the outliers such as hyper active metabolisms. At this point the hover chairs aren't just a luxury. They're a necessity. And it's highly unlikely that they'd survive a return to Earth because we're talking generations upon generations of living in gravity that isn't Earth's or close enough to it to maintain the physical standards and skeletal strength we have now. They wouldn't be able to stand up let alone walk.
