Actually the early lego bike u said he could only sit on with only one leg is wrong lego figures sit on lego bikes between there legs there is a place in between the bars and the stud you talked about where you would place the lego figure. So the lego figure would also be at a angle so that you as a builder could place the lego figures hands on the handle bars. Anyways I came here to talk about it and these guys I guess agree with me.

Actually, the Lego bikes work like this: there's a thin, vertical piece of plastic near the handlebars that fits perfectly in the slot between the Leto figure's legs, allowing them to stay on. They don't sit on the stud. Now who's thinking too much about the practicalities of transportation in an animated movie, bitch?

As many sins as this movie had, it was still the best animated film of 2014.

Sinning your sin here, Jeremy: The Batmobile was "parked" on a cliff that was right next to (and very similar looking) to the cliff that the Invisible Jet was "parked" on. Not parked on top of each other, just on very similar looking cliffs that are right next to each other.

Fun fact: Emmet's face is more bland compared to any of the other character's faces. This is a reference to the old style of LEGO figure faces that all had the same •_• expression. It wasn't until 1989 that they started to paint other faces since people noticed how creepy it looks.

It wasn't due to creepiness; it was due to the boring sameness. The original intent was to keep the faces as bland as possible, so the kids' imaginations could fill in the rest.

Not just you. I didnt have LEGOs myself, but my neighbor did and we would come up with the craziest stuff over the course of like 7 hours. We would build and destroy things, give everyone a backstory, and even add in his model trains to make different towns.

Can we just sit back and admire the animation quality in this movie? Like it's computer-animated, but it looks sooo unbelievably real. The flaws and wear-marks on the Lego showcases absolutely incredible attention detail. I can't believe it's not real. Literally the best CGI I've ever seen, hands down.

i can't really say i agree. while yes it looked mostly realistic, even when i used to believe it was mostly stop-still animation i still thought half the movie was CGI. where as i have seen several movies with completely flawless CGI all throughout.

While it was all CGI, the makers of the movie made sure that you could pause any scene and build it in just the way you see it (if you had all the required pieces)

This movie is genuinely hilarious. It's a masterpiece Edit: I love this movie mainly because I wish I could be… part of it, in a way. My twin brother was always the more obsessed between us when it comes to legos. He is a Master Builder; I am not. It kind of extends past Legos just to creativity as well: he has ideas for writing, I do not anymore. I don’t want to stop being creative. Edit part two: Also, I’d give two sins off at the start of the Wild West setting - one for WyldStyle hitting Emmett with a cactus and one for WyldStyle throwing a horse at Emmett, because both of those are funny to me. But that’s just personal taste

“8 1/2 Years Later” is a nod to Finn being 8 1/2 years old in The LEGO Movie.

I *think* it has to do with how this kind of scene normally plays out in movies. Usually, a dying character will have all the time in the world to say everything they need to say, and only once they're done talking do they die. Here, Vitruvius sounds like he's about to enact this very cliche, and then before he can say anything, he just suddenly croaks.

18:02 The "squirt some of the medicine out before giving the shot" cliché isn't a cliché. In this case it makes no sense, but ignoring that factor, the reason it is done is to get rid of air bubbles. If you inject air into your bloodstream it could cause problems. I'm sinning you for not knowing that.

I personally think this movie actually was an master piece, shouldn't have that many sins tbh, movies wouldn't be that fun without good/dumb jokes, logic breaking and a rich imagination and whatever else you sin the movie for, it's what makes movies so fun and entertaining.

The fact that the whole “master builder” thing came from the Lego games is pretty dope.

The animated credits was like the coolest thing when I was younger. I’d watch the movies just for the end credits

My favorite scene was when the Millenium falcon bursts out of nowhere. We finally got to see Han and Lando reunited - something the sequels failed to do.

Uh, it really seems less that its his imagination, and more like the people are more like unaware gods for a parallel universe. Considering he could still move outside of legoland, unless the kid is just a really powerful psychic, but I don't think that is what they were going for.

When emmet says i'll have to report yooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooou it's actually way longer that was just cut out. I think chris pratt actually did it for 15 minutes.

This movie will always be in my memory because it was the movie I was watching when I fell out of a window and cracked my skull.

Actually, LEGO bikes like that exist in real life. Minifigures don't sit on the stud, there's a thin sheet of plastic in front of the stud that goes in between a Minifigure's legs. Look it up. So i don't count that as a sin on this movie.

1:26 Actually, as a Lego builder, the stud is actually for like accessories and those kinds of stuff. The minifigure's legs go on the left and right side of the thin mid section of the Lego bike. So there's really no seat.

(1:21) A LEGO Bike is ridden by wedging a thin part of the Bike in-between the Minifigure's legs while in standing position. The stud is located in the back of the Bike, not the seat.

The point about Emmitt being average is because his face is the old school face where every one is the same. The new faces have much more detail including a small white dot in the eyes.

The fact that Emmet was a master builder all of a sudden isn't really much of a sin, he probably had an epiphany.

Did anyone else notice that in the background at 5:40 that "The Old West" is still there in between the the rocks thingy?

1:25 i know the Moment you point out how the bike would have him half-ass sitting is a sin, but Lego bikes are made with a thin center so it can go straight between their tiny Lego legs. It would make it more realistic that way, therefore, take off one sin. -1 *reverse ding sound*

The stud on the back of the bike is for a basket, the space between his feet is supposed to be able to fit in the middle of the bike in a normal Lego bike.

Fun fact: The bike's studs at the back are for a box and the real "seat" is thin enough to slip between lego-legs.

1:23 Actually, Lego bicycles are not meant to be climbed on from the back part. The ''middle'' part slides between the minifigure's legs. So I Think that sin could and should be removed, for a total of 109 sins. But who cares honestly, I'm just a random guy on the internet getting angry at people being confidently wrong. Anyways, great video, as always.

Actually, if you take away the sins where he either a) doesn’t get the joke, b) doesn’t get the point of the movie or c) doesn’t know how LEGO works, you’d end up with about 30.

At 9:31 you can see that the developers paid attention to detail because the tracker is there and doesn’t just appear when it’s supposed to

I feel like the dad probably ordered the figure custom, y’know, because this is his set. It’s the equivalent of a customized video game avatar. Bonus sin: Either the dad built this massive set and then walked away, not even bothering to check on it over the course of the movie, allowing the kid to build a bunch of extensions we see, or this all happened within a day, presumably only after school considering the dad is wearing office attire, both of which are dumb because everyone knows that if you built something massive like this you’d be checking on it every other minute, especially because you have kids in the house who will not hesitate to wreck if you look away for two minutes.

At first i thought it was just a bad joke but then i realized that was retarded.

Both sides of an intra-city highway can be busy, and at rush hour they usually are. Google "401 traffic jam" and you can see as many as 23 lanes of cars packed in just as much as in that scene.

The bike actually isn‘t a sin. It just works differently. The stud on the back is a place you can store stuff on.
