    I'd like to personally thank Southwest Airlines for allowing me to not watch this movie in HD quality because I don't even think the quality of this film lines up with needing to be HD. Also also, that's maybe the perfect place for a movie like this to stay and be watched... a plane!!😂 I haven't heard worse dialogue in a movie in forever.🤣

    6:59 okay, hear me out. I think the reason they had the red lights on is because the red wavelengths are much more undetectable to things and is also one of the reasons deap sea exploration machines use red when they was to not be seen, and white so they could get a gathering and see the creatures. In this case for the red light, it's the same thing. But why they are using the white light is because they need to see. That far down, the red light is hardly visible and they want to make sure they get to their destination. But that's just my guess, i don't actually know what the film crew was thinking but i do know the practical reasons for it. I just found that bit in the movie kinda cool:)

  • @Smileyrat

    @Smileyrat

    You are only sorta right. Red light wave lengths don't reach that deep into the ocean, because they get absorbed and scattered by the higher layers of water, so creatures are often red to hide (because there is no red light to bounce off them). But red light produced at that depth behaves normally. I am not very knowledgeable of deep sea creature vision, but a megaladon supposedly hunted wales in the upper layers of the ocean and should have good vision.

    So when they switched to the white lights when they began their walk across the trench, why didn't the Megs go apeshit and target them? It's proven in both movies that any sort of illumination on a high wave length intensifies their aggression.
