For the "nobody has the same name" problem, In the Fever Code, its explained that WICKED gives everyone a new name, so it could explain why nobody has the same one. So, reverse sin i guess.

Watching a movie with cinemasins would be interesting. He would probably watch it with you quietly but once it's over, pulls out a notebook some coloured pens and makes you rewatch the whole movie again.

My problem was what's the point of Thomas having the cure, if he just goes to live in some random immune village. Screw all the people you could save, cause rebellion!

I thought about this a while and i have come to the conclusion that his blood cures you but you don't get immune. And I really don't think there's enough of Thomas' blood for all the cranks in the world. Wckd would've to give erveryone in every single corner of the world the cure or they will infect someone else again. Especially in the movies the virus is a lot faster. And I think that both, Teresa and Thomas, knew that you couldn't really cure everyone. So the best thing us to let the immunes live and then everyone on the earth is immune and after a while the cranks will due as well because they aren't immortal.

14:30 The Maze was supposed to stimulate parts of the brain to see how their brain responds to things. which makes a little sense since the Flare infects the brain (the "killzone") and drives people mad (in the books at least - in the movies they just become zombies)

I believe in the books, the whole point of the maze was neurally mapping the kids brainscans to in some way science a cure or something. Also in the books, the virus has always been airborne and it takes infected between several weeks and several years to go bonkers.

The books actually had a consistent storyline that paid off in the end. After the first movie the movies stopped even caring and just tried to be action films. Pretty disappointing.

I never liked the books because that explanation seems like an excuse to put in any random death trap that comes to you, even if they make no sense or don’t tie together. The brain doesn’t care what kind of death trap you face, so why not use practical methods to get the kids filled with adrenaline?

Zachary Gilmore actually they wanted to keep the boys safe and unknowning of the outside world so they could see what made them immune by the blueprints of their brains. And with that information they were supposed to create a cure. They even placed non-immune children in to see the difference with the brain activity. It’s all explained in the books.

Thought part 1 was decent before the ending, but it fell off the rails with part 2 and 3

Pretty much the same thing with the Hunger Games series, most viewers enjoyed the actual "games" in the first 2 films, rather than the slow, political crap in the last 2. With Maze Runner, the actual "maze" was what was interesting about it, but they escaped it in part 1.

What really annoys me about the movies is that they had some great source material, but decided to remove/dumb down all the futuristic tech that might make some people confused or not believe it. Things like the flat trans and other projections, the metal gloopy beheading balls, the telepathy between Thomas and Teresa were all scrapped and instead, the writers just went with the typical futuristic hologram TVs and modern buildings.

Why would they not be called the maze runner? It’s the sequel and threequel to the MAZE RUNNER movie. That’s like naming a movie the “popcorn king”. The popcorn king dying in the first movie and then then calling the second movie “the devils keeper” they have nothing to do with each other

ziljin yeah it makes no sense, this whole series makes no sense. Maze Runner 1 was pretty cool because there was mystery and intrigue and they were actually in a Goddamn maze. Then they exit the maze and the movie's over, makes sense. So how the fuck are there still two more movies coming? What are the evil alien overlords fucking insane and they build their base of operations inside of a maze? Shit's fucking stupid man, it's like Mockingjay, when they just turned the whole fucking city into an arena cause they were like, shit man we really need these arenas they're kind of our whole thing.

ImSpray theres a deleted scene of the death cure where newt, thomas, & gally were moving through underground train tunnels in order to get to the last city, and newt ends up falling on the tracks because of his limp. after newt gets up, gally says 'never were great runners, were we newt?' and newt says 'well i've only got one good leg' and gally replys 'well i've only got one good lung', referencing the first movie. but idk ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

cadee belle they can say what they like 2 movies later but the effects team put that spear in his heart. So I don't know if they didnt know they were supposed put it in the bit it sounds like they wanted to kill him off and when they needed him for the 3rd movie they changed it that he got hitman the lung. Everyone did. The “rebelling teens in dystopian future” movie plot was so overused over the last 10 years that no one gives a shit anymore.

The actual maze was cool, mysterious, and intriguing. Why not make the whole movie about exploring the maze and finding a way to escape, tossing in some Lost-esque twists along the way. Would’ve been so much cooler than this.

Swag 193 he survived because it didn't hit him directly in the heart. HE didn't bleed out because you know, the spear was wood and all the blood was on the wood. HE was watched to die and survivors then found him. If Gally wasn't all bonkers, Gally would still act like an idiot and would go crazy later on and probably die and get laid on.

I think out of the 100+ thing's they messed up or got wrong. The one that annoys me the MOST. Is that they made Therese look like a hero. In the last book, it explains that she was "friends" with Thomas, and he trusted her with a secret to help everyone escape the Maze. She betrayed him told Ava Paige, drugged him and sent him into the Maze. Then she went into the Maze with her memories intacted so she could report back to WICKED. Oh and WICKED or World In Catastrophe Killzone Experiment Department. In the movies it was just WIKD World In Killzone Department??????

I still don’t understand the rebels’ game plan. Wasn’t the plan to take the city and then live there too? Just without wicked in charge. Instead they destroy the whole place and essentially make it just like everywhere else which makes you wonder why you would risk your life for that.

The Hunger Maze...James Dashner came up with a cool idea for a group of kids trying to escape a mysterious maze inhabited by spider monsters. He wrote a book about it, it was successful, and then had zero idea how to finish it and so resorted to generic crap. I'm still not clear why WICKED are the bad guys. Their methods are heavy-handed and weird, and Littlefinger's a dick, but ultimately they're doing the right thing. It's like Dashner wanted to introduce some moral ambiguity but wasn't clever enough to make it plausible. However, got to admit that the train heist at the beginning was a decent action setpiece.

There is no freaking logical reason for a supposedly technological advances airship piloted by supposedly veteran pilots not being able to simply wipe out the entire rebel group. USAF attack helicopters can destroy fast-moving targets miles away 2 decades ago.

The books have more of a realistic moral conflict

The reason the kids were put into the mazes was because they needed to test their minds and from what I understood from the book was that they were activation a certain part of the brain. And then taking them to the WCKD desert scorch place was so they could grow greivers close to the maze. And they could test the kids to see if they made the serum. And if it worked it was shipped out to the city and possibly the maze (the serum was in the supplies they got once every 2 weeks.) Don't forget they also kept some with them at Jansons desert scorch WCKD facility. Then the reason they were on the train and knew about Minho was due to him being shipped around alot. So a good amount of torture was used.(most likely) Probably around 4 months in they found when he would be there on the train) Also Jorge had Berg flying skills. He worked for WCKD in the books and he was a pilot. Some of it was coincidence, yes, but the plan worked, no movie could be perfect but it's part of it being enjoyable. Also about the virus becoming airborne, well first a little history lesson of the books. In The Kill Order book, WICKED people shot darts at people from a dart gun. And the original purpose of the idea was population control. And after the virus got out the hands of WCKD (movie version now.) It probably latched onto another virus that could be airborne, which in turn could maybe enter through the eyes,(in the books it makes them go crazy, makes them feel like their brain in crawling.) So its possible and might work. So around the end where Thomas goes to find Ava. (Recall to when Thomas had flashbacks of him working in WCKD, or hell even if he didn't he could just find a map.) after that it's pretty believable. And wow this is my longest KZread comment I've ever written, guess it goes to show how much I like the series, and on my channel I'm probably gonna have videos up showing off some of my TMR stuff. I feel enlightened now lol Tldr; most of it makes sense if you know what your looking for Edit: it's worth reading even though it's the *FEARED WALL OF TEXT*

Additionally to this post, the virus was supposed to get weaker through each infection, but the virus mutated and gave it zombie-like effects. The virus originally was supposed to shutdown the brain quickly at first and then slower so that more people could be infected with the virus. It was genetically designed to do this, but was found unstable in the Kill Order book. The Post-Flare Coalition used this as a matter of population control and released the virus along the sactions of northeast United States. The virus was only through touch at first, with symptoms of insanity, a sense of something crawling inside the brain, headaches/migraines, and eventually death. The mutated virus instead to spread through touch, and airborne through specific conditions (which aren't specified in the books) and exempted symptoms of regression into an animal, insanity, and obsession. In the Kill Order book, the main character's village was targeted to be hit by the darts that contained the virus, and with some people being killed immediately, while others that were hit were infected with the virus. The characters later encounter some that were previously infected, with most of them regressing back into animals, fighting for their survival as a pack and for themselves. The means of insanity could be a long-stretch but describes what happens in the book well. The previously infected began to believe and worship 'demons'. They believed that the demons were out to get them and so they began to worship them for their forgiveness. They believed that anyone that didn't believe should die, as well as a little girl, age 7-8, that was hit with a dart and didn't become infected: the immune. They wanted to sacrifice her to the demons so that they could become normal again. Not sure if this actually will matter. But this is prob the longest thing I've ever typed. I may be inaccurate on some details, so feel free to correct me.

I'm not here to argue or anything. I'm in love with both the books and the movies, however whatever you explained above (yes, I did read it) had barely anything to do with the movie. You, yourself said "from the books"/"most likely" a couple of times. You shouldn't get the explanation from a book or your imagination unless something ends in a cliff hanger. Both books and movies should stand on their own and explain everything they need to. However if there's one thing that really is a sin of all 3 movies is that it doesn't explain the scientific background as thoroughly as the books. Things happen and you kind of get what is going on, but you never really get such conclusions as in the books.

You did this in the last 2 movies too. They all have different names because WCKD while their memories and gave them their names

Anytime I ever rewatch this movie all I think about is the things you pointed out and I can hear the song sound every time😂
