Basically, this movie is like a video game. You die, you respawn and while walking you activate the same triggers that triggers the sequence or cutscene.

Good point Speedy but tree can stop getting killed but video game protagonists can't stop it because it's in the programme so unless you mean tree is like monika from ddlc or flowey from undertale that doesn't work. P.s sorry for being a game lover.

Lori always knowing where Tree would end up was hinted at by the fact she changed Tree's ringtone on her phone : she had access to her phone and could thus have installed a GPS tracking app on it without Tree knowing. Was gonna say that there's no reason why Lori couldn't kill Tree after she got out but when I did some research I realized that max jail time for manslaughter is 40 years and 1st degree murder is either death or natural life imprisonment. So, if anyone wanted to know jail time when it comes to manslaughter/first degree murder in Louisiana, there you go. *Evidence for me knowing where Tree goes to school is found on Film Herald's "6 Ways to Beat the Killer from Happy Death Day" and his pinned comment*

9:33 - That bugged me too, but he explicitly mentions "scar tissue" and "lesions." From his perspective, he's just seeing the signs of _previous_ trauma, not open wounds, broken bones, etc. The idea being that she bears the scars of her previous deaths, but it's not as though she's constantly bleeding internally or something like that. So when he said "You should be dead" he likely meant it in the context of "You should not have been able to survive whatever caused the scar tissue and lesions to form in the first place." 10:49 - Yeah, that was one little detail I wish the filmmakers had accounted for considering all the nice little pieces of attention to detail they paid in the movie. 10:54 - No, that's a completely different candle from the one that was on the cupcake, that one was solid red, this one is blue and white to keep the audience from suspecting her roommate. 12:36 - She mentions at the end that Lori resorted to stabby-stabby psycho shenanigans because Tree didn't eat the cupcake. But she *also* gained the opportunity to kill Tree while being able to pin it on Tombs, she doesn't go after Tree in the instance where Tree kills Tombs because the scapegoat she wanted to use is f*cking dead. Thus, Lori likely would've resorted to another attempt at a less confrontational means of murdering her later. Keep in mind that, from what can be seen in the movie, Lori *never* tries to kill her until _after_ 9:23 P.M. when the blackout hits. With that same blackout being the moment when Tree got the upper hand on Tombs.

10:12 That's not Lori, that's the actual captured killer in the hospital. The one that escapes and also wears the outfit? The one that's down the hallway? That escaped, killed the security guard, then killed everyone he saw on his way out? She escapes from him, and runs into Lori, who was driving in the opposite direction of the street. She killed the cop and set the car on fire. My theory is that Lori put some kind of tracker app on her phone, to be able to find her wherever she goes. Only in one timeline, did she ditch the phone early on.

Mega Zeta the problem I have with this channel is that there’s really no disclaimer that you should still support the original source and that these aren’t reviews, they’re extreme nitpicks for comedy. I mean the channel trailer (and the literal videos themselves) is telling enough but that obviously isn’t enough for far too large an amount of people taking these videos as real criticism. And you see the “Good, now I don’t have to waste my time seeing this.” Comments and the like way too much. A short little disclaimer at the beginning of the video wouldn’t hurt. Or even if he said a word or two about what he actually thought about the movie at the end of the video would be fine also.

You can even hear the sound of it smash into what sounds like thousands of pieces. When he finds her wandering around outside, he returns her top, bracelet and shoes, but not the phone (as it was obviously destroyed). Yet a few minutes later as the two sit in the cafeteria, her phone begins to ring on the table as though it has the ability to respawn too.

Honestly loved this movie, sure there were some plot holes but the lead actress's performance was career-making, at least in the horror genre, and it was pretty well-written and made except for the cop-out of the real villain. Solid 8/10

  • @tjnolen1

크리스탈 I would actually be perfectly okay with this explanation, if it wasn't for the shoes. The killer that kills Gregory is wearing the same shoes as the killer that blows up the cop car later. Also, in the clock tower scene, Toombs is wearing the exact same shoes as the cop car explosion scene. It's possible that Lori put the same shoes on Toombs, but I doubt it. It was just the movie trying to trick the viewer into thinking that Toombs was really the killer. So... *ding*

Main problem with the chair kicking under the door is not how impossible it is, is not that the move is ridiculously hard, it's how she thinks that'd help. Someone comes to the room and the door won't open, then after a few seconds the door opens and she's in the chair acting innocent. Wouldn't take a genius to figure out what was going on.

Personally the only bright spot of this film is the actress performance. Kudos to trying to act professionally even you are in a B grade film. Edit: apologize for calling this a B grade film, what I really mean is a budgeted film, no offense to this film lover. Have you notice every time she walks out from the hostel she clearly become a different person? Most actors/actress will just repeat the same acting for 10 times, but she clearly did her homework what changes in her personality every time she woke up.

the funny thing is, i only just watched the movie (about a year after i looked at this video the first time) as i initally thought i wasn't gonna watch it this movie doesn't get ruined by spoilers, it makes you appreciate the details even more i don't know at which points certain people realised who it was, i guess the car-candle scene was a _dead_ giveaway. most people probably realised it who the killer was before it was officially revealed, but i think the cupcake is such a nice use of checkovs gun. you see it all the time, always thinking "what a weird way to press this forward" until you realise it's the original murder weapon.
