I really do wonder why everyone hates Pink. And this hate only started up after Spinel was even created. Pink Diamond was like a child when she was a diamond, she was fussy (throwing a tantrum for her own planet, army, etc), leaving her duties to do something more interesting (Instead of watching her kindergarten she went out to *join* it), she replaced something that could be equivalent to a kindergartener friend or a toy. which children easily replace things like that because they dont understand the concept of love all that much, I mean hell children love their own shit half the time. The diamonds in the movie even act like children when Steven tried leaving, even White Diamond acted younger than what she sounds like when she startedwhining.When Pink became rose, she grew up as well practically..and began learning the consequences of her actions. But rose is stubborn, it was always apart of her character even as pink. She has a lack of empathy because she doesnt understand the concept of it, which you could expect..she literally Is from space.

If you’re thinking the finale was rushed it’s because many of their finds for the show were cut because of the wedding episode. Their international funding threatened to pull out if Rebecca Sugar went through with the wedding. She then had to wrap up the show very fast. They thought ocean gem would be the last episode because of the themes they wanted to promote. I personally am happy that they’d put the wedding episode in. I’d rather have somebody support me and tell people it’s okay to be different instead of a better finale.

I have this philosophy where all my stories and its characters are almost an entirely different world and people, with its own logic and their own beliefs. So, however the story would naturally progress is (should be) outside of the writer's control. Even if your beloved character is progressing to become a bad person, pushed by the other characters and their environment (naturally and believably mind you), then so be it. If you don't want it to be like that, then you must change everything to not be like that and shouldn't force that kind of change. What i'm trying to say is, i wouldn't prioritise my belief and politics into my stories, especially if it's just as a form of protest. Don't get me wrong, RS's decision to go through with the marriage anyway despite knowing the consequences were bold and respectable, but not admirable. Respectfully, if you wanted to do a protest, just do a protest, don't have your life's work that people had enjoyed for so long be cut in half, gutted, and then ridiculed (justifiably). Granted, if the marriage episode WAS actually a seemingly natural progression of the story (i'd argue not really), then it would only be a matter of being idealistic or realistic. Like, how in an apocalypse, some people don't have the power or competence to save everyone, so they make *sacrifices* and focus on what's most important. Or maybe like irl, where if you're not rich, you can't really spare all of your dollars on charity, you gotta think about your bills, so you make *sacrifices*. But of course you can be idealistic and try to practice your beliefs to the letter all the time, again, respectable, but not admirable. So, if i were in RS's shoes i would hold of anything that would make those godforsaken autocratic, theocratic and dictatorial countries wet their pants (at least not as obvious, like a whole ass marriage and at least not in the *middle* of the story). But that's just my way of thinking and i'm just sharing it.

Technically if pink took spinel with her when pink changed to rose, spinel looks at that as being gone. The Virtual Celebrity not only is the redemption arc of Change My Mind shitty as hell, but the philosophical debate with Steven and White Diamond sucks too because I’ve seen better philosophical debates in Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood and Kill La Kill.
