Everything Wrong With Brave In 13 Minutes Or Less

Фильм және анимация

For some reason, Disney mixed up their standard princess formula with Brother Bear, and shoved it in Pixar's direction to force them to make a film. And what we got is... this.

Eleanor's bear tendencies are not random. It is expressed that she changes when she comes around food; going crazy with the fish and with the apples while looking for needle+thread. Also, fixing the tapestry was not the cure to the spell, it was just the symbolism of their relationship being fixed. That's why Eleanor didn't turn back until after Merida poured her heart out.

HAhahaha no will 'o wisps are apart of celtic mythology, they're fae.Depending on the area depends on what they do. In ireland they're the dead and each color represents a different type of dead. Don't quote me on this but, white is a mother and child, blue is a more mature child, and red is a man. I can't recall what they're in all the celtic cultures. But ik that the "fae" are deadly or more brutal in ireland and more harmless in wales and celtic myth would become more infused with christianity turning the fae more demon like.Idk much about scottish myth but i think they follow celtic myths because you see a lot of what look to be celtic crosses in the movie.

I hate that people call this movie a disappointment. I really enjoyed it. Great animation, soundtrack, culture, and cool action. The story was fun, i liked the relationship between Merida and her mother. And the bear plot was cool imo. It had some scary moments too, the muscular demon bear Mordu was pretty scary. And the witch is Boo from Monsters Inc, the Pixar theory connects it all. 🐻🏹🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

*What I expected when I first saw the trailers and posters of this film: A funny animated fantasy film about a warrior princess who embarks on an epic quest across her kingdom to show her courage and change her fate while facing supernatural dangers based on celtic mythology. *What I actually got: "Turning Red + Brother Bear" set in medieval Scotland... Nice graphics and a cute mother-daughter relationship, but honestly, it feels just too empty, short and full of wasted potential. I was expecting something more like "Mulan + Legend of Zelda", with more adventure and fantasy stuff... I think that Wolfwalkers (a Cartoon Saloon movie) is what Brave should have been from the beginning, it has more emotion, fantasy and it didn't felt empty or short.

Also, the spell did do what Merida was after, in its own weird way. Merida complained throughout that her mom wouldn't listen. The gives her mom a cake that turns her into a bear so she can't talk back, thereby FORCING her to listen. And since mom's not used to being a bear, she has to rely on Meridas hunting skills to survive in the woods, something she originally wrote off as unimportant compared to politics. Merida's lesson was that there's a time and place to make your point, but doing what she did wasn't it. If you remember, much of the movie was her swearing it wasn't her fault, and by the end, she admits it.

Ugh no this movie is so frustrating! The animation is amaaazing and I like the few songs they have in it, but Merida is so cruel and selfish and treats her mother horribly. Drugging her mom and then mocking her for not knowing how to be a bear, and she has no character arc whatsoever throughout the movie. It would be one thing if they had made her mom still be able to talk as a bear, so they could have actual conversations and learn about each other and come to understand and respect each other and grow closer because of it. But because they couldn’t really communicate with each other, the end of the movie where they’re suddenly bonded is totally unearned and not believable at all. Merida was just an asshole the entire movie and then got everything she wanted anyway. I wanted this movie to be good SO MUCH and instead I just felt so sorry for the mom the whole time, it made me want to cry. I hate this movie.

The tapestry itself had nothing to do with her mother turning back into a human. It was Merida's last minute owning up too what she'd done and apologizing (ie: "Mending the bond torn by pride"). The tapestry was symbolic, sure, but it really had nothing to do with the transformation.

He will do Everything Wrong With Zootopia.....he will.... Also, couldn't Cinemasins do videos from those classic animated movies from Don Bluth? So many are underrated, and sinful too

+Raphael Luck Lucas Well... I don't think there will be over at least five sins for Zootopia because of how well it's been selling. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 99% Certified Fresh rating.

Don't be so butthurt just because you can't stand the fact that not everyone loves Brave or Merida enough for them to be overly sensitive or defensive with it, or that you're too blind to see that she is a terrible main character who takes no responsibility for anything until the movie is almost over. She's a disgrace to Scottish lore.

@@Disneyfan82 are you Scottish? Not every girl wants to find prince charming, settle down and have babies. Most disney princesses are what was expected of women. What responsibilities do snow white, cinderella etc take? Merida doesn't want that. She's headstrong, knows her own mind and a good role model for young girls. Girls don't "have to play house" anymore. I gave that crap the two fingers years ago!

@@marleybu7984 I don't know to be Scottish to know what I'm talking about, unlike you who still can't stand not everyone in the world liking Merida. Good role model my fucking ass, I don't give a shit what you think the other princesses lack which Merida doesn't, which they do not as you stupidly think. Only idiots call her a good role model and defend her selfish, bratty actions that put everyone in danger and takes no responsibility for it until the last minute. She disrespects her mother and acts like she is in the right to do whatever she wants without consequence. What you say makes no sense at all.

I make no sense? Your first line makes no sense. And you know what? I don't give a fuck what you think either. I don't care that you or anyone else hates the film. I'd rather a girl has a mind of her own than be brainwashed by stupid disney films into thinking they need to have a fucking man in their lives. No they don't. It's the 21st century. We don't put up with that shit anymore! Yes Merida is a brat at times but nothing compared to the real bratty "daddies little princesses" about these days, who are usually from the US and throw tantrums if they don't get the latest mobile or whatever.

The car/truck isn't actually a sin. It's actually really important in the Pixar theory. The theory says she's from the future, and it makes a lotta sense cause the're other future things in there.
