Everything Wrong With Air Force One In 15 Minutes Or Less

Фильм және анимация

Air Force One is a '90s action movie that sees President Harrison Ford square off against Gary Oldman and Russian bad guys that have taken over the plane. It's fine. You'll enjoy it. But it has every bit as many sins as you think it does.
Next week: horror sins and sins of a classic.
Remember, no movie is without sin. Which movie's sins should we count next?

Oh, if you people only knew how your world truly works. This planet is a Jew World Order now and all the politics are a scripted hoax. In real life Air Force One is just a regular plane that is used as a prop for theatrics before the goyim by the puppet president you falsely believe you voted for. You are all living in a zoo habitat and movies like this are propaganda to reinforce the illusion you are presented. Keep staying under this illusion. It's mind control to keep you tame while they secure the full power over you and usher in hell never known in history of humanity.

The EMP shielding and bulletproofing aren't related at all. 25 years old and this is still one of my childhood favorites of the action genre thanks to my late father! I remember watching this lots at night at my camp in the Adirondacks This was the 4th highest grossing movie of 1997 making $172 million domestically and $315 globally This is still one of Harrison Ford's best roles being not only as commander in chief but as a father and husband and a fighter not abandoning his crew taking out the enemy Gary Oldman is top notch as the villain invoking Soviet insurgence as an excuse for Cold War tensions; still it’s a portrayal that looks more believable with the benefit of hindsight, especially regarding the end of the decade and more recent events He sees freedom as an infection given how his country has been overrun by crime, death, and prostitution Kroshunov sees Marshall as a coward playing god killing without a second thought I kept forgetting who Glenn Close was playing first time I watched; she's good as Madame Vice President stuck in a corner about how to assess this situation although the conference room scenes do tend to stagnate Marshall's wife and daughter I like very much too, Mary truly stands by her husband's stance not letting the enemy dictate hostile negotiations and Alice being only 12 feels she's ready to take on more responsibility rather than just watch the news about her dad's job running the country The movie is like die hard on a plane but with exciting action, amazing sound editing, amazing music by Jerry Goldsmith, and top-notch tension seeing one man try to foil the bad guys from the ground up Funny because it inspired a slew of action movie imitators over the years with 'Speed' being the most propulsive Although at that point filmmakers were running out of fresh ideas of being stuck in confined environments at high speeds This script shies away from character development, although it's clear President Marshall's politics are going to be challenged in a very personal hostage situation It helps he has actual war experience in Vietnam inserted into his political actions Atrocity and terror are not political weapons, real peace is not just the absence of conflict, our own political self interest shouldn't deter us from our duties This came out with an already scandal-prone Clinton presidency and the optimism from the fall of the Soviet Union slowly dulling, that sounded like a very attractive proposition It's always risky speaking out against terrorism on film or in real-life The movie represents both the pinnacle of the action-disaster movies and a leave-taking Its great location is also its biggest liability Director Wolfgang Peterson manages to craft a brilliant summer blockbuster that never lets up until the very end You'll be biting your nails in suspense, cheering, and applauding by the time the credits roll Peterson and Ford deliver a tension-fueled actioneer if not fully plausible one with a delicious villain and sharp politics

as for 4:49, as a former intelligence analyst, I can say without a doubt that everyone that walks into that room has the necessary security clearance to be there. The stuff they're saying isn't all that's classified. The briefing on the screen is classified, the hard copies on the table in front of them are classified. To be entirely accurate, since they're discussing classified information in that room, the room itself is classified to the level of the information. No one would be let into that room without the clearance.

This film is *SO* fantastic in almost every way imaginable. 🙂 Despite the obvious implausibilities (duh), it's clear that the writers knew exactly what comprised powerful storytelling. You can even tell that Jeremy LOVES this film because his sins lean far more on poking fun and making jokes regarding the actors (and sight-lines!) rather than much of anything regarding the storytelling. Finally, I'd like to add that EMP blasts vs. physical projectiles are completely different concerns. 🙂 Neither is nor would be "classified" information.

The earliest it would have started is noon EST ... a big matchup like Michigan-Notre Dame in the mid-90s probably would have gotten a later start time ... so 3:30. Games last around 3 hours ... so let's say it was a noon kickoff and it ended at 3ish. There's a 7 hour time difference. So, it is possible that they were boarding that plane at 10:30. That's plausible, but it sure seems like it is earlier when they board that plane.

5:40 More problems with this. Any competent pilot wouldn't just land, they would do a controlled crash. Pull the "engine fire" levers to cut off fuel and turn on the fire extinguishers. Push the "electrical fire" buttons to turn off most of the electronics. Heck, if they really broke into the cockpit, then steer off the runway and onto the grass, this would destroy the landing gear and any hope of taking off. There are probably many other things they could sabotage that might not ground the plane, but delay take off long enough for ground forces to destroy the tires and/or engines.
