Good on you for respecting the weather! We live off grid here in Alaska and we get home by float plane. Weather is king. And I love what Lizzie said about prioritizing people you care about cause life is short. That's a huge theme in our lives right now as well.
The decisions you made as a pilot were on point. Never risk flying in questionable weather. Much respect
Two brunches... is that like part of the hobbit philosophy to happiness?
Love seeing some of my favorite KZreadrs hanging out together ☺️ Lots If respect to you guys for playing it safe rather than risking it for the video!

You guys handle adaptation so well. So many times now I've wanted to create a video about something but don't end up doing it because things didn't go as planned. Watching this video was super helpful!!
Not as planned.... however, this is content I appreciate. Oh and the adage “rather be on the ground wishing you were in the air is better than being in the air wishing you were on the ground”
Uh oh I wrote a book -- putting my main takeaway here: always so amazed how much everyone loves seeing stuff I make that didn't go the way I planned - I think when you all are dissecting it midway through you hit it - this is real life, and we all get amped when we get to peak inside real life. -- Ok now back to he beginning lol: The shot of Lizzie taking in the situation at 2:25 is so rad. I will never get over how amazing the footage from the GoPro matches your other cam. Love the take of Chris at 3:40 - explaining the lack of air bnb situation - love love love vlogs like this where stuff goes wrong and you are not sure how you are gonna cut it while your shooting it so you are going about it multiple different ways - but then love love love how you cut it and still left so much in. Let's never lose the Rawness of vlog life. Oh snap I love the song at 6:10 - some sort of remix yaasss. LANDING IN A PARKING LOT! Man I love this one. I love this one so much. Sorry, sometimes I start just taking notes in the comments. If you've read this far you are basically just reading my journal at this point. Ahh, the coordination thing, logistics, I am so bad at it. Lizzie bringing up priorities - crucial. Loved it.

R Cody Wanner 😂😂 loved reading this Cody! I had no idea what this Vlog was gonna be especially after the weather shagged us up the first time. Thought it was important to show that things don’t always go so great, definitely a challenge trying to find my way through this story as it was happening. Great times were had, memories were made, and many chicken nuggets were eaten 😂
Love how raw and honest this is. You guys made the right decision to put your safety over your comfort. You guys already know that though!
Better safe than sorry. Get-there-itis is real. Congrats on making the right call!
This film had almost all of my favorite things IN LIFE in it. Snow, breakfast food (twice), a helicopter - whether in flight or on the ground, it doesn't matter to me. The only things missing were popcorn and a pool, and the popcorn is easily replaced by the two breakfasts! So, my only complaint is the deceptive title! BRAVOOOOAAAA!!!
I love how relative we humans are! You guys are talking about how bad weather is turning a weekend exploring in the helicopter into a disappointment, but a helicopter is just mad! Loved what you guys said about just hanging out with friends, relationships always have to come before content.
I absolutely LOVE the beat at 1:32. What's even more awesome is that you guys have used it while flying a helicopter, and I have used it flying a drone on the Besseggen Ridge in Norway. Amazing haha!
Excellent decision making Chris. VFR into IMC is nothing to mess around with. As I saw the 'white room' threatening, I had sickening flashbacks to the (far too many) instances of real life "178 Seconds to Live" scenarios playing out in accident reports and KZread vids. Glad to see you on the ground safely!
I love the weekend bucket list idea so thanks for that. My wife and I have incorporated this into our lives. Lovin it.
Great video! Friends and good times! Real life drama sometimes rules over plans.
You have outlined a common occurrence when flying VFR, especially in the midwest, in the winter. Great decision making, great attitude by everyone involved. I have a whole book full of similar experiences. They make for great stories around the campfire! Keep up the great vlogs! Thanks for sharing.
You guys are awesome! Love your helicopter vlogs and all the content you've been pushing out. You two inspired me to start making my own videos here on YT! I'm actually from Buffalo too so it's awesome to see some local creators doing so well. Keep doing what you're doing! 👍🏻
So much like our sailboat days...everything at the mercy of the weather! Good call Chris.
Hey! I am in Rochester NY. Weather has been really up and down lately so I totally see this being tough. Looking forward to your videos!

I think the honesty of the vlog was great and to see that everyday isn't always an amazing adventure keeps everything real. It helps people realize that everyday doesn't have to be an adventure and sometimes the days days are just those that you spend with the people that you care about. Great vlog.
Love how in the midst of everything. CHRIS HAU was still able to say the content was less of a priority, being with great people was more of a priority. Something along those lines 🤣.

This really motivated me to make a weekend bucket list.
You all are amazing. Calm, cool and collected. Rolling with the challenges and living the standard of safety. Showing people that you regroup, drive home and fabulous people will ferry your helicopter 🚁 back home. Inspirational, revel in the coolness of people helping. Your day job is lucky to have you. You are committed to HIGH standards. Rock on!!

Thanks for being so safe Becky and Chris ! Love your videos ! 🦋💕
50k subs!! So well deserved. And some.
This turned out to be a great video. When life gives you lemons and all that. I also have some helicopter questions. Apologies if these were already covered in previous videos and I just forgot. 1. Is it possible to fly, um, under/during/in IFR in a helicopter? Is it a matter of more/different training? Or just not possible at all? 2. What determines where you're allowed to land? Do you just have to file a flight plan and get permission from the owner of the land? How were you able to land on that island in Algonquin? Thanks!
@BeckiandChris
5 жыл бұрын
Matej Novak thanks! 1. Yes, you can get instrument ratings in helicopters, but Robinson’s aren’t allowed to fly IFR regardless if they’re outfitted with the proper equipment. You can get your IFR rating in a Robby, but you technically aren’t allowed to fly IFR in one. 2. You’re allowed to land if you have permission from the land owner. We actually weren’t in Algonquin Park, it was just random crown land up in Northern Ontario. National parks are definitely a no go, provincial parks are usually a no go. -C

“Be stubborn about your goals, and flexible about your approach”
It's not "brunch" when you have it at like 8:30 AM. We just call that breakfast.
Chris I have great admiration for your safety ethics and your decision making, you may not have been flying long but at least you know when risk taking is not any option, that weather was closing in so fast and could easily have landed you in trouble even making those few extra miles to Buffalo, inconvenient perhaps but you are safe and sound and your treasured helicopter will be returned home for you to fly again another day,you did the right thing.
This episode is one of the best so far, I discovered your channel last week and I've just been catching up with season 1 and season 2 ! You guys are incredible and I love the upbeat energy you two give off ❤️

Mr Lewis Andrews thank you so much!
Great vlog. Started watching recently. I fly fixed wing; although I might need a R44 in my life; although a wife and 3 kids might be a good excuse for a Ranger... I totally understand coordinating medical practice life and friends. Wait until kids come into the mix! All the best to you two. Regards, Michael
Hey there folks. Fairly new to your channel and thought that I'd touch base and let you know how much I enjoy your uploads. I can see that you are total camera geeks (unlike me) but it's actually the GoPro Fusion shots which are floating my boat. Hoping to buy an Insta 360 OneX soon for using while I'm out on my motorcycle or skiing and find your use of the Fusion inspirational. Keep up the GREAT work!
I'm so glad that I found this channel. Really appreciate the next-level content you guys make!
This vlog was so real. It was amazing.
Bit late to the party, I know, but had to say, Becki, you were not loosing it, somebody definitely said something! Chris, some challenges for you. Get someone to let you land on their yacht, at sea, if Tom Cruise could do it in an F14 Tomcat 33 years ago… omg 33 years ago! Any how if he can do it, sure you can get a hell on one :-) Got to be on the list. That, and on top a top a city penthouse roof pad. Ummm what else can I think of for you :-) Only found your videos a couple of days ago so you may very well have fulfilled those challenges, actually it was more like your videos found me. Something KZread does? Keep up the good work you do and thank you both for sharing.

This video is goals. Relationships are everything.
I stumbled upon your channel a few days ago and have already watched a bunch of your videos. Great stuff! I am a CFI in helicopters and have been for 12 years with about 7000hrs in helicopters. I say this because I have already seen several instances of Chris making the decision to land in lieu of pushing the envelope. You're are setting such a great example for other pilots! Most people don't understand how tempting it can be to push through! Really GREAT GREAT JOB! #landandlive #madrespect
I love it when Chris talks as a pilot. ⚡
Oh snow ❄️ how much I miss you! 😂 Even thou it’s was so dope to see the heli up and flying, your safety is definitely more important. Good to see you guys again!

Becki and Chris my debacle is my future in aviation. In fixed wing I could possible work in Airlines but in rotary wing, I could do EMS, police or fire. Maybe tours, but I live in Georgia and the only closest scenic place for tours would be Atlanta. Idk I KNOW I want to do aviation just not what I want to do.
Vlogging taken to new heights. Nicely done, great snow footage.

Your photo of Lizzie at 13:00 , straight out of Top Gun. The Ra-Bans, Jacket and helmet,… well at a quick glance the bag looks like a helmet…. sort of… Go look at the movie, I think you’ll see what I mean :-) Lizzies Chris should most definitely have a framed copy on the wall. Fabulous photo Becki. You all made the correct decision. Life’s too precious. Definitely a thumbs up, great “real life” video.
