I enjoy them too. Keep in mind I have no control over which ones are submitted. And unfortunately, it’s not very practical to go out of state to film a “average “ home theater tour due to the expense of travel and time away from my family.

I feel so selfish. I haven’t included any of my family’s interests in my HT. It’s so cool to see he brought his family’s interests in there. Making it truly feel like a family room. You can see it, and I’m sure feel it when you’re there, love it. Inspired me to incorporate my family’s interests since it is a space we all share.

Awesome!!!! I absolutely am so happy to see a realistic home theater again. The element of the "average Joe" home theaters that I have always loved was the personalization. Home theaters are are somewhat like cars; A Mercedes is great if you can afford it, but a lot of respect goes to the guys who built and customized their own ride. I think the journey of the latter tells a better and more relatable story. 😀

I enjoyed seeing the common home theater space where he did the best he could based on disposable income. Nice work!

Definitely an attainable theater room. I know some will poo poo on the ceiling speakers but they can actually work well if done right is it the ideal layout no but it can work. I love that Jeter jersey!

Haha yes, funko pops are addictive indeed. They have a few movie theater ones too- Blockbuster VHS one, a popcorn one and they have movie directors etc. They are very cool. Awesome theater!

I loved it, it has never really been about the money or the equipment, everything has always been about the good times with family and friends, sometimes we forget what is really important

Didnt know about the youth pastor history. Now nobody can disagree or get mad at you. Good man! When seeing and getting the most expensive av crap gets old, you remember that the av stuff is only part of the rooms experience. Memorabilia, trinkets, curtains, etc. are what personalizes and makes your space stand out. Some folks are all business and they murder out their rooms which is fine and technically correct but these rooms with personality win hands down imo regardless of av performance.

Love seeing low budget theaters, after moving and experiencing a flood in the basement 2 weeks after moving insurance not covering all the damages I don’t have the funds to replace everything but was fortunate enough to save my 5 base layer speakers. Unfortunately lost both my subs and receiver so with time I hope to get my theater going again.

Unfortunately I do not have control of what theater rooms are near me. Out of state typically requires a brand to sponsor the trip to make it practical.

Filming a really cool Star Wars Theater on Jan 31st!

Such a cool space with so much passion for movies. I would have been curious as to why to go in ceiling bed layer in a dedicated space. I can understand doing that in a living room with constraints, but it seems like an odd choice to use that layout in a dedicated media room.

Someone get this man a real projector. A $500 BenQ /Epson will blow that damn Vanko away. This man has a beautiful room. My home theater is in an unfinished basement and I’m still running a $3000 projector…

I can tell you I started with a very similar projector from Amazon. I loved it! They have between 100 and 800 ANSI lumens so you will need to have a light controlled space. After using it for a year, I found a used older Epson projector and I continue to add to my home theater experience!

Dedicated theatre with ceiling mounted LCR speakers? that's unacceptable, I understand not everyone can afford JVC but at least you can do proper speaker placement and that doesn't cost anything.

LCR in ceiling is not ideal, however, I did hear a demo at CEDIA from MartinLogan and I had no idea the sound was coming from an LCR in ceiling due to their design. It’s certainly not ideal, but it can work in certain applications. Another thing that doesn’t cost anything is to be kind, especially to those that are new in the hobby.

@@Youthman ​ agreed some speakers are designed for ceilings like the "Ascendo The 6 Wedge" but not those Klipsch, it does not work. You have made tons of videos about speaker placement, I was expecting you say something about his speaker placement or improvement. I am not expecting REW calibration just the basic. If nobody tells him then how can he know what he is missing out?

There are times when a homeowner will ask what I really think about their system or if there’s anything they can do to improve the sound or the video, and I will happily share my thoughts. But other than that, I do not give unsolicited advice. The purpose of a home theater tour is not to critique a system, but rather to celebrate the hobby and share the passion and story of the homeowner.

Hey Michael, Seems like you rarely do home theater tours the last few years. That is what drew me to watching your channel when i got back in to home theater 2+ years ago. It's this a conscious decision on your part to-do less home tours, and you're just taking the channel into a different direction? Before criticizing someone’s system, you might want to do your research. A voice of God is in dead center above the listening position. Not one of the speakers are in this location. The system was built with one primary goal, that’s to create a space that he and his family can enjoy, and he accomplished that. Let’s celebrate that.

I’m just curious why you felt the need to criticize his Theater. If it’s not your style, that’s fine, but what purpose does it serve to say that you feel it looks a certain way. This video celebrates the fact that he created a space that he and his family and friends could enjoy, and he accomplished that. Let’s build each other up, rather than and try to tear each other down. There’s enough of that in the world already.
