Today we have one of my favorite kinds of videos - my 2022 round up of everything I knit this year! This was my first year knitting, and I learned a ton. Looking back at my knitting journey, I learned a ton about techniques and fit, patterns I like, and fibers I love working with. I’m excited for everything 2023 will bring :-). Not gonna lie, this video is a little ramble-y but if you wanna catch up and see all of my finished pieces from this year, settle in for a long vid.
What was your favorite thing you made in 2022?

Nothing like editing an hour long video and discovering all of your speech patterns… you should have seen how many “yeah but um so”s I edited out 😅 but I’m glad you enjoyed the knitting!
Some beautiful projects there. I think it’s safe to say the bigger yarns are fun and after about one item you see the utter folly of using them. I loved the Ghost Whisperer, so pretty, you could use that year round. Do you recall how much Kidsilk you used. Also loved your Zosia wrap.
Wow... great progress and how many pieces you were able to knit in a year! The Moby Sweater is crazy beautiful, and definitely a highlight! I restarted knitting Oktober 2022, and I finished my first sweater in November 😅 looking forward to more videos! Greeting from Austria!!

Love that Birdie top, would be great for vacation wear. I love knitting winter sweaters now but that could be a fun summer project 🤗 For the 8pm tank, i knitted a similar pattern and I created the bust dart. I purchased Nurture bralette and I guess I will try real bust dart in this pattern 😉

That’s really smart! I don’t think I had the skills at the time to adjust the pattern like that but would try it out next time
Your skagen tee looks awesome! I wanna make it but the pattern is very confusing and I’m scared lol
the mobey sweater is beautiful, great job with that. My favorite though was the skagen tee, omgosh. I dont knit, I crochet and Im determined to find a pattern that looks similar shape wise. I love the fit and I really want to learn to do lighter yarns, if I can figure out how to do it without killing my joints.

😍
Your knitting is so amazing and absolutely gorgeous, you nailed the Moby Sweater !! I only started knitting a month ago and want to make garments as well but im not sure if I’ll be able to do all these complicated looking patterns. I know practise is key but do you have any tips for me to improve my knitting skills ?
@stitchmagicknitting
Жыл бұрын
I think just slowing down and making sure your technique is right when you start learning new skills - after that, it’s just muscle memory! Just practicing and knitting a ton without being discouraged by mistakes is the best way though
I love the patterns and colours you chose. I don't know how you managed to knit all of this in a year. I just blocked my first sweater last night and I'm impatiently waiting for it to dry. I already know the fit isn't going to be exactly what I want. I can't wait until I figure out how to make things I really love.

It’s all part of the process - it’s so empowering to finally knit something that you truly love and that fits perfectly! But you saw my first piece 😅
Did you just learn? Looks great!
@stitchmagicknitting

I learned the basics in English style as a kid, but only started knitting seriously this year! I had a lot to learn
Do you have a step by step on what you used to learn. And what order etc. On in info overload and I feel nothing I find gives a good break down with cohesive steps. Also visual can't do books
@stitchmagicknitting

Honestly, I learned a lot from trial and error - made a lot of mistakes and learned from them just by trying out patterns. I’m sorry I don’t have a better answer!
Bravo 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻😍😍 very lovely jobs, will you share any tutorials videos??? Please do it

Ekstra. 👍👍👍❤🌈
I guess I don’t understand this, do you enjoy the knitting , it seems like this is some kind of marathon with little to no creative process that’s individual. Then you want to frog your work too. You are a very good knitter that’s clear, in fact that’s an understatement. Maybe just knit something really creative, and please, stop ending every statement sounding like you have a question. Make a statement! Not a question?
You should block that first sweater, I bet you’d be much happier with it.
I just never really understood the whole midriff cropped thing on a chunky knit for winter. Maybe because I live in Michigan, or maybe because I’m more mature and I have no interest or would look absolutely silly in it. But it seems almost all of your knits are cropped.
