    Your video is so much fun. For the snowy Forest sweater try combining it with wide leg pants in cream or black with a block heel boot or pump and put your hair up. You will be back in proportion and look like the winter Queen of cable sweaters!

    Wow! Wow! Wow! The criteria for your rating system was brilliant and really useful. I really feel that my sweater knitting over the last couple of years has missed the mark. So I actually came up with, and wrote down, my criteria for 2024. Much of what I wrote was reflected in your rating system. Looking forward to watching part 2 of your review. Thanks

    This is awesome to hear! I love that you've complied your own rating system for this year. For my own knitting, I felt a need to have a baseline guide to compare my knitwear and I'm quite happy with how it worked. Did you ads a different piece of criteria to your rating system? I'd love to know, as I feel my criteria should have the ability to grow and change with more experience. Thank you!

    Jennifer I’ve so enjoyed watching your podcasts. I’ve especially enjoyed the combination of travel and knitting. I’m enjoying a serene snowy view in Halifax as I watched this episode. I really enjoyed your video.... just one question... what is the use of "she" for objects ? English is my second language (French is the 1st) and until recently "it" was used.... did I miss a few classes ....? is it a trend ? because I heard that in other podcasts....

  • @yay5112

    @yay5112

    It depends on the person speaking but “it” is the most commonly used pronoun. “She” can be used in place of “it” but this is usually done for an item you’re attached to. This is simplifying it a bit, but is generally how “she” is used in English to refer to objects. If you’re not sure how to apply it when you speak “it” is perfectly acceptable

  • @pairswellwithknitting

    Thank you very much! "It" is the non-gendered subject pronoun used in English and as our nouns of non-living things are not associated with gender, "it" is used for things (e.g., The sweater is beautiful. It is beautiful). However, @yay5112 explained the "she" use well. It isn't proper grammar to use a gendered subject pronoun when referring to things, like a sweater. I use "she" when referring to my knit items as more of a term of endearment.❤️

    Hello from Jasper Alberta! I’m so happy you broke the sweater curse! I made a sweater for my ex but thankfully still close friends. So we are all working to break that silly thing! I’m new to your channel and found you through Irina over @fiberchats. Yay for another Canadian yarn cast! Knit on!

    It's a delight that you're here! The sweater curse is a thing! The Sweater That Broke the Sweater Curse sits ideal and isn't being worn. It's slightly tent-y. I have to say, I'm not completely sad about it. It was a learning experience of garment construction for a man. Happy knitting!
