Aww thank you so much!! You made my day😊😇😄
8:15 That sausage is the most delicious when eaten with homemade bread and mustard. This is the traditional version. (And i think the best) And the traditional lángos, is only with garlic or cheese sour cream. The lángos versions packed with all kinds of things are just tourist dazzles.

Really well done review it explains the tasty the bad and the rip offs, thank you for making it so detailed. :) Having visited Budapest more then 25 times now, I can say that this is a pretty accurate review. :)

Budget hack - with the public transport ticket you can use one of the boats which are part of the public transport. you get to see exactly the same stuff as on the overpriced cruise - almost for free 😂😂

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I enjoyed my time in Hungary and it's great to hear from someone from there :)
Hungarians usually eat stew with boiled potatoes , smashed potato or pasta or sometimes bread and some people likes it with sour cream or like some kind of pickled stuff like cabbage or beetroot or just original sour or sweet pickles
Aaahhhwww you went to my regular café Mon Cheri 🥰 Love that place, it is packed with international people all the time

The first lángos place confused you because you don’t live here because in hungary this is normal in the city centre they charge plus for everything because in like Örs vezér tér (its the last stop of the m2 subway ) a chimney cake is 800 hungarian forint lángos is 1600 forint
We Hungarians eating chimney cake when its hot. I recommend to try!
Chimney cake is the fresher the better. Dont wait for it to cool all the way down.
Hi! Few things Budapest public transport The singlet ticket must be purchased in advance. It is for one trip, from take-off to landing. It must be validated on the vehicle with a device when taking off. These are either orange or red. At the subway, the devices are at the entrance (0:24 and 15:58, but these are the most modern devices). If this is not done, the ticket is invalid. It costs 25 euros at the time of inspection. There are many inspections during the tourist season. Central market hall. The pickled vegetables are in the cellar (e.g. cabbage, cucumber, onion, melon...) I totally agree with the food part. It is characterized by expensive and variable quality. Belvárosi disznótoros (Downtown pork repast ) Disznótor = is dinner after the animal has been processed. The secret to determining the price is the weight of the food. At 7:49 you can see the price list in the upper part. At 8:15 the measurement. 7:51 drink list. Fröccs is a popular cocktail based on sour wine and soda water (water with gas). There are several versions that differ in the proportion of wine and soda water (fröccsök is the plural of fröccs). It goes well with most Hungarian dishes. In summer, it has a refreshing effect without being drunk. Of course, if you drink a lot of it, you'll get a kick out of it. The name of the chip-like food is straw potatoes. There are three types of sausage food. The traditional sausage is made from raw meat with spices (paprika, pepper, cumin, garlic, salt) The second hurka is brown. It is filled with cooked pork offal mixed with boiled rice and spices (marjoram, pepper, a little paprika salt). There are also some with liver in the filling. This is the májas hurka. The third black color is the véres hurka. Here, blood is mixed with the normal loop. Saltier flavors are preferred in some parts of Hungary, maybe the chef came from this area. That's why the food was saltier. Chimney cake. They say the best is the one baked right before serving. I don't like it anyway. Baked savory pasta (pogácsa) are my favourites. There are many sweet cookies besides these. Cakes (Dobos, Eszterházy, etc.) should be found in pastry shops. But there is also a strudel shop. This is a dough roll with different fillings. Mostly fruits, but it can also contain poppy seeds and túró. The latter is one of the steps in cheese production. Pure milk protein before being pressed into cheese discs. These can combinated. However, in most bakeries there are cocoa snails (roll-like cookies filled with cocoa cream), they are called snails because they look like a snail's house. There is the burkifli. This is dough with walnut or poppy filling bent into a U shape.

1500Ft is extremely expensive for a chimney cake here in Budapest. As well as the Lángos. They try to sell it to the foreigners for a higher price.

I'm a Budapest native and good chimney cake is hard to find. I wouldn't touch any of them under 1500. .y favourite and one of the best is Vitéz Kürtős, they now have a permanent spot at the Zoo (Édes Mackò) and their Chimney Cakes are around 2.000-3.000 but absolutely worth it.
I would say the potato chips are not from the bag, they cut round slices and deep fried and maybe 0.4,05 mms in thickness as opposed to the 'chips' called in the USA or in the UK. The ones that your had as chips are more like fried potatoes but cut differently. The Central Market is unfortunately is not the best place to try Hungarian cuisine, simply because - as you experienced - they rip tourists off without realising. Hope you enjoyed visiting Budapest nevertheless :)
I guess it wasn't there in english when you have tried the strawberry pie from McDonald's, it says "Vigyázz forró" which means "Watch out/Be carefull it's hot" in my language😅

Almost 8k for lángos is willlllldddd
@ThorTyrker

Damn, sure. I draw my very final line at 3K - 8K is an unabashed rip off unless it comes with caviar and champagne :)
8:02 lángos is chese, sour cream and gralic souce. everything else just a tourist trap.
I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the lángos, mostly you got a very good quality traditional lángos (with garlic, cheese and the sauce -tejföl) for around 3-5 $ .
@MelinaKim

No worries, thank you! The lángos was very delicious :) Had a great trip.
You went in tourist scrap or mainly not interested place by locals... If anyone read this guy's let me know if you go there I'll advise you with friends and local ppl. Pleasure to me. Ill be the most surprised if you asking me. Cheers
they obviously tricked you and overpriced you for that langos. BTW the locals would never recommend the Nagy Vasarcsarnok. it's just an interesting place to visit - because markets don't look that plush usually 😅 but as a place to buy stuff - stay away. the prices are ridiculously high
@MelinaKim

Thanks for the insight! Hope this will help future tourists visiting Budapest 😊
you literally went to all the tourist traps
Ha-ha, un peu étrange de prétendre faire un tour gastronomique quelque part, surtout en Europe, et d'aller dès son arrivée dans un restaurant asiatique/vietnamien...et comment ils s'empiffrent...
you really didnt make an effort to explore the foods and restaurants. you basicly went to 2 places and mcdonalds
What was this about??? Apart from langos you did not eat anything hungarian!!
Did you just said "dog liver" ? That shouldn't be a thing in that restaurant as far as i know

You were 1000% scammed with the lángos.

I'm french, I lived in paris for 3 years and those prices are simply atrocious ! More expensive than the average parisian café, in Budapest ?? And it seemed so noisy in a way you can't even enjoy the classical music.

@@Aerosklice Not an average cafe, the most elegant in the world!!! It was one of the favorite historical places of writers and poets, but it was pushed towards splendor. He's French anyway. It's expensive because it's famous, but its confectionery is good. Locals prefer Ruszvurm or Gerbaud. The Hungarian café and pastry shop culture is extensive. It is realistic that Parisian cafes are cheaper. At first only the muezzin will be required, then you will be taxed, but at the end of course your heads will be cut off in Francistán. Here, the Turks did it this way for 150 years. Good luck.

For comparisan the average parisian café would give you a coffee and a croissant for 8€, when an actual regular price is 4€ max.The expensive or historic places are at least 20€.@@-dorkoka2104
