Given Anos’s peculiar brand of wholesomeness, I find if more likely he would respond to that statement from Shirou by patting him on the head and wrapping Shirou in a blanket after reading his mind. “Ah. You poor boy. You’re literally so traumatized it created an ungodly powerful pocket dimension inside your head. Sit down. I shall explain to you why that isn’t true. Also did you know that you have a artifact embodying the concept of an untouchable ideal tomorrow inside you? I suppose we’ll get to that next.”

@@ZhongliArchonofSwag though tbf the meme has corrupted the actual context of what Shirou meant. People often forget that Shirou knows about DAs/vampires and is literally in a war of resurrected heroes. He would totally like Shirou though, especially HF

I just like how someone sees how good the story is. Most people are put off by Anos' OPness, but once again you succinctly lay out why it's good, thanks for reminding me of this good story.

I agree. The LN actually gives a decent reason as to why Anos is so Powerful. Tho, it might not be the most convincing reason for some but imo its a good enough reason. furthermore, anime didn't point it out explicitly but there were subtle hints that the magic prowess has declined in the last 2000 years. A good example to that is how anos was able to pin point the flaw in one of the spells designed by royalists when Anos stood up for his candidacy.

Honestly him being OP just makes him even more fun to watch.

I love how over the top this anime is. The series ends with the main character fighting the embodiment of racism while his literal fan club sings about how great he is.

My favorite part about this series showed how cruel was the war for both parties. The general lost both his wife and daughter, while Anos's mother was killed too. Even Anos was willing to give a way to stop the fight.

​@@ninyaninjabrifsanovichthes45in anime , there was not a dialogue between jerga and Anos when he killed him. Anos tells him" hatred was not the only thing u wanted, foolish human. Otherwise elenore , which was made of half of your source, wouldn't have wished for peace till the end".

The thing that stuck out to me in this series is that Anos uses the spell to share his power, and elevate everyone in the team, while the "heroes" use the spell to channel the group's power away from the group and into a single person. That mindset tells a story about the two groups.

I'm always moved by those girls protecting Anos's mother. In any other anime, or even any other show period, they wouldn't have been in any real danger. They might have gotten banged up a bit before the MC swoops in and saves them, but no, they actually gave their lives to protect the mother even though they knew there was no coming back from it. It was gut wrenching to see them picked off one by one. They are the very definition of heroes. and Anos's reaction to not only his mother being threatened, but also recognizing the girls heroism by learning and remembering their names (after resurrecting them of course because in the moment I forgot what SHOW I was watching), was one of my top 3 favourite moments in this anime. I'm glad you decided to do a video on this anime and it makes me want to go back and re-watch it. In fact that's what I'm going to do.

what i really liked about this anime was how good Anos was. He is honourable and Just but not overly sympathetic. Those who prove his worth to him, He cares about them dearly.

This show both seems to parody and play straight the OP MC isekai tropes at once and it’s hilarious for it. I mean seriously, going “Did you really think killing me would make me die?” has GOT to be said ironically!

This show really is underrated by a lot of people, the story is cool as hell, Anos is great, and I was so surprised by a few of the twists and love the heartfelt moments.

i dont think its undeerrated. it was pretty popular when it was airing. tbh it even got a manga adaptation and only popular ln get manga adaptations. its too bad that the manga was cancelled after the author of the manga died. tho the good thing is that web novel and the light novels are still popular.

I think my favourite bit of this series is each species group magic spell and how it's been corrupted. Demon magic Gyze is about empowering those around you and making them strong, and Anos lives that message to a T by inspiring others and encouraging them to rely on the bonds of family. It's been corrupted into "oh I'm the only one powerful enough to do this, prove you are worthy to stand by me" Human magic (can't find the name) was about believing in one Hero and empowering them above all to act as a savior. It's been corrupted to drain energy from the masses for an extinction campaign. I don't really have a point to this, I just think it's neat.

Don’t forget that’s why their structures work so well To become the demonking you literally have to be the strongest therefore in their race there is always the effort to become the strongest. The hero needs someone to protect and the more he can protect the stronger he can become. Therefore more people are good for them not important whether they are strong or not

Another neat point is how the demons are taught to form groups for their group battles, with them building a castle as their stronghold. This not only mirrors the whole demon king cliche, but is also a nod to Anos' own abilities. He is only able to draw his sword when in the vicinity of his castle because the sword is a part of the castle, hence why in the last episode of season 1 he summons his castle to his location so that he can draw his sword. The students being taught to create and fight with a castle is exactly how Anos fights.

I haven't finished the video yet, but something that I really like on the rewatch; in his first life, Anos saw his mother die and couldn't save her. The Cheer Squad fighting and dying to protect his second mother would've meant *the world* to him. You can clearly see it meant a lot, but that added context just makes it so much better.

I don't know if u'll read or not coz comment is a year old. But Anos's previous mother was not killed before his eyes. She was killed by humans when he was in her belly. She was pregnant and begged humans to spare her so that she could give birth to her child. But they killed her and Anos was born from corpse of his mother and he never met his father in mythical age. He was orphan and grew without in world at war

I’m kind of surprised that Anos’ parents’ reaction to their believed 10,000 grandkids didn’t get a win.

So funny and the greatest parents in anime. I love his insouciant attitude and his care for his friends. I hope for the best in the new season(s) but it'll be hard to match the first season. "You think killing me is enough to make me die" and his similar proclamations are just the best.

There are many copies of this anime (not sure which came first) but this is by far the best one. Because they focus on the growth and detail of the side character relationships. They aren't just pretty pictures that stand around while the OP MC does everything. He trains them and lets them show their worth and in some cases needs them. We care more about these side characters than quite a lot of other animes. And the show of parental love and competence is wonderful. Specifically when you rarely even see a mention of parents in most anime.

well a lot of the animes do have similar kind of characters but this anime stands out for me because of Anos's character development. He is not just a generic OP guy. He has a well written character growth.

YES! LET’S GO! I’ve been waiting for this one. One thing I really thought was also deserving of a win was the commander during the final battle (who is assumedly a noble himself) stating that it’s obvious who the true Demon King is and that it’s time for the demons to show their loyalty and resolve. Him ordering his troops to help protect the humans was really cool, especially against the backdrop of that gorgeous song.

Typically I'm not for the crazy OP protag anime, but like you it seems, it's almost One Punch in that the OP doesn't matter as much as the themes that can be utilized BECAUSE the power battles aren't a concern. Thanks for coming back and showing that off. Sorry YT is messing with a channel as great as yours.

There are a lot of details and history in this anime that are glossed over. The source material writer is very good at world building.

I love Anos's family. They love him so much and are incredibly proud of him.

Even though the mc is over powered, it's used more for satire than blatant wish fulfillment. And the story overall is pretty damn good. 9/10 from me! The show deserves some love and I'm glad you covered it here!

This show is so good tbh. its like a parody of OP MC light novels, like how OPM parodies shonen. its not opm animation, but i liked the characters just as much

Absolutely loved this show, and love your vids. Always great to see the stuff I loved get wins XD One thing that absolutely deserved a win in my opinion, yet didn't, is the scene where Anos asks the teacher if she taught him that from the material she's supposed to teach. That entire exchange between them was amazing.

Can we add a win for attention to detail for consistency on how Sasha's eyes work? Before it's explained in detail that her emotions can trigger it's effects, you can tell Sasha's intentions when she "tried" to kill Misha based on when her eyes activate.

I want everyone to see the anime coming out called "Skeleton Knight in another World". So if possible could you watch it as it comes out and take notes for your Great/Terrible videos. I think the best way I might promote it to you is that I expect it to feel like a cross between Konosuba style comedy/slice of life and Black Clover level of badass fights/dark polical background. The MC is a bit of a muscle head with a heart of gold and greedy tendencies when it comes to bad guys (almost Naofumi level for Bandit treatment). The main female is a bad ass magic swordswoman. Then my favorite character is the best Mascot of anything I have seen or heard Ponta that green squirrel fox thing that you see in the trailer. Its an isekai videogame trope done slightly odd and there are many serious threats for epic fights to be seen. Plus I should note that if they chose the right team to make it it should have many unique location and picturesque backgrounds. I happen to expect great things from it... but I get my way so unoften that I am tempered a bit. My only concern is that the lovecraftian nature of some of the threats will be CGI like the goats of Overlord and look terrible because they chose not to hand draw them and CGI. I do not expect others are as hyped as me about it so wanted to give you the good word.

Anos is Saitama done right... pretty much every gripe I have with Saitama is fixed through how the story is presented with Anos. Most importantly the series name does not build my expectations too high. OP man fails regularly to end things with exactly one punch. I do not care how petty others might see this complaint but Saitama uses CONSECUTIVE strikes more than once and foes might dodge his atks at first... nothing One Punch about multiple attacks. Second from Saitama I got no sense of care or the ability to care. He's to detached and since you mention the character, Genose from S1 as I have not seen anymore than that, is not one I think ever really needs saving. What I mean is it seemed he only was in trouble because he screwed up and was incapable of learning... as in learning to plan first then act as he seemed to gun=ho. I really did not like most of the cast for one reason or another... well I liked the powerless bike man dude because he tried his best and just never was lucky/cursed enough to get an ability. Psy chick was not around long enough to like more. A solid 4.9-5.1 out of 10. Misfit of Demon King Academy... just was better all the way through to me. more like a 8+. Now I realize that S2 is something I still need to watch.

The only other meaning you may have had is "am I a patreon of "skeleton Knight"; in which case no just a fan of the series wanting a max number of people to enjoy it. Either way. I simply want you to enjoy it as it comes out to avoid spoilers hopefully easier than your normal projects that are shows already released. Definitely ask your Patreons about their interest in it. The more people like it the better.

had to rewatch this as season 2 just started. Seriously love these videos because of how entertaining they are, but also even more so because they make me appreaciate Anime I already love, even more so.

This anime was so much fun. There aren't a lot of good shows I've watched recently that didn't make me cry at the end, so being in a fit of giggles for that entire final battle was so refreshing. I love how shameless they were. Nothing better than a show that knows exactly what it is and goes all in with it.

as always a good and fun way to describe an anime. DEDICATION!

the cool and simple way of looking at it is characters like Saitama are meant to be a show stopper. while Arnos here is like sherlock holmes he is the carrying of the show. because of this he cant be the same kind of character as it limits characterisation. and honestly Arnos's parents are so fun and truly sold the show for me. as you always feel so good to see people who are normal just caring for a person they love and not using them or being neglectful like in so many anime.

The first win made my day. I recognize Jôji Nakata's (Kotomine Kirei's) voice everywhere. It just stands out.

30:08 Don’t forget that this guy is supposed to be a Super Strong Noble who’d be a major challenge in other anime, but Anos’ dodging in addition to the song being sung just makes it feel silly. Suddenly, the dangerous noble is just comedic relief.

Saw the Anime Sins version of this anime. The Anime Wins version is just as good! 🙂 Have you seen Moriarty The Patriot? It's *really* good and it gives an interesting take on Sherlock Holmes' enemy, Professor Moriarty. The anime finished last year and the manga is ongoing.

I suggest checking out the Daily Life of the Immortal King, which uses a different set of inspiration that I haven't seen anywhere else in animated media, taking heavy inspiration from what I believe is called Daoism.
