you know it's kinda weird to rewatch the first episode and see Shirogane's initial characterization, it feels wrong to see him act so egotistical and self-centered when every episode after that focuses on how friendly, good natured he is and how he's willing to help anybody who needs his help even if he's not getting any thing in reward it just doesn't fit.

I’m glad nobody is in the house right now because I just yelled YES extremely loudly.

Can't believe you didn't give a win for the reactions to her thinking "first time" meant kissing someone. That absolutely KILLED me when I first saw it because I sat there the entire time just as shocked and confused as the rest of the cast.

You forgot a self reference joke in ep. 2 where they were reintroduced because the manga first started out in one company and then transferred into another and the characters had to reintroduced. That really made me laugh when I found.

I hope this anime will get more seasons. When I finished the anime I thought the manga would get old pretty quickly past that point, but somehow it never does. Though as the story continues it moves more and more toward actual romance, which might be a downside to someone only in it for the comedy, but it never ceases to be funny. There are also a suprising number of serious moments and tragic backstories in this. The anime already showed Shinomiya's situation, but the way in which Ishigami became this social pariah hits quite hard too. I'd also like to point out how amazing the physics of the skirt is in the ending when Chika Fujiwara does her song and dance number. The animation of the entire series is impressive in it's own right, but that piece of animation really blew me away once I noticed it on the second watch.

I did think you missed the second ending, well played

What makes me love Ishigami is that he is shown since episode 1 but is so hard to notice at first. He's so well camouflaged in the Shuchiin Spotlight scene (or what is basically the 20th Century Fox Opening) and makes minor cameos in the Summer Plans to the mountain and a quick in and out of him walking through the door. He's so well hidden and it makes his reveal looking back even more hilarious that he's been under our nose the entire time.

THAT YETI CAME OUT OF NOWHERE ALMOST KILL ME LMAO

As someone who's reading the manga, I have to say that I really appreciate the episode where Chika is teaching Shirogane how to play volleyball. It truly is such a traumatic experience for her that it comes up in passing a few times in conversation later down the line and in a few similar situations that Chika would have serious ptsd flashbacks to the first time she helped him. I know PTSD is nothing to laugh at.... But you have to admit, the way Chika expresses her tiredness at the end is pretty funny. It kind of makes for a good running gag in the manga.

I love how the anime ends. Because it actually promotes viewers of the anime to read the manga. They didn't actually end it abruptly. They didn't end it at all. Which gives it a lot of freedom for a possible sequel and a never-ending manga.

Poor Ishigami only got like one win. I thought he was really funny. Like when he tries to compliment Chika and she calls him creepy, so he immediately just leaves. Or when Chika is caught cheating and he goes on a long rant calling her horrible. It’s pretty good.

The changing arc you were talking about continues much more in the manga and story arcs become much longer and have much more depth

21:34 these moments are from the best in the show and me and my friend still meme it to this day.

14:09 One of my favorite little details in this show is when be Chika is looking frazzled from the experience of teaching the President how to play volleyball, there's a little band-aid on the bow in her hair.

I love how so many of these were just subtle reactions, smiles, laughs, etc. Sometimes the best explanations are the simplest and most genuine.

I was starting to think how you could have missed the chika ending but then was releved you added it in later

Honestly, the opening is really catchy, never skipped an opening of this anime ever..

i would add a win for kaguya's "breathing is fun" line, might just be because i have asthma but i love that line

You really gotta hand it to Kaguya's voice actress, Koga Aoi. This is her first time as main role and oh my god do I love her performance.

The how cute thing is referring to the teenager’s fear of being belittled by people of your age. Seen as less mature mentally than your peers. 20:43 you seemed to have skipped over the accountant’s misunderstanding of “Chika is forcing her wiener into kaguya” and thus deducing chika is actually a dude or futa. This is a common problem in several translations. The duel meaning of that overheard sentence was completely lost in English. Not sure if yours is the same. 28:42 I think they were using the military vessel verb. Like fighter jet xxx is down.

at 16: 42 the 'o kawaai koto' that can mean how cute and also how pity worthy, kawai has 2 meanings and the translator is definitely to blame that on so Shirogane's reaction to him being called pity worthy is natural in my opinion.

All the characters in this anime are so great. Ishigami is a pure legend. Edit: Also they have fucking dio! This show is great.

2. I think that’s a common effect used in more serious/edgy anime. The joke is the contrast of edgy mental distress face in a really irrelevant situation. 5. Again, the joke is the contrast of epic walk out and trivial hidden truth. This one I think is directly from death note. This anime really likes the overblown dramatic scene for trivial things joke.

3:44 Notice the figure going by on the bottom of the screen. Due to the way he's sitting, we can't get a clear view of his face, but despite the lack of his trademark sweater vest and headphones, I'd say this is supposed to be the then-yet-to-be-introduced fourth member of the Student Council, Ishigami-kun. His name also gets mentioned during Chika's song for the special ED for Episode 3. Actually, Chika's song references several things that happen later in the show. This show is really excellent at sprinkling in little details that end up paying off later.

Fujiwara was my favourite character in all of anime, I loved her voice so much. But after watching the demon girl next door, Shamiko became my favourite character because of her voice. Then after a month, I realized that they are voiced by the same person. Now I love that voice actress in general, great voice!
