Look I get it but they killed it themselves. I’m just willing to see these die under Disney so the brain washing propaganda will stop and then MAYBE one day people who care about those IP’s can do something different with them. By that I mean owned by a completely different company that has a fresh slate. I don’t care if Disney even wants to try after this because it’s just hollow and wouldn’t last because they would go right back to doing it again. Disney has been corrupt and weird for too damn long. Besides people only think they love the company for some reason when all it ever was, were the stories. Stories I might add that they stole from the start of the company and made where they owned them. That company is disgusting and hide behind kids while not actually caring at all. It’s only about money and power control. They’re willing to lose money now in exchange for the control and that’s what needs to stop. They’ve threatened to sue multiple parents of children who loved those strories and passed away. All the parents wanted to do was use a picture on the gravestones of what their kid loved and they were threatened for it. It’s ridiculous.

This indeed was the turning point. You can’t expect parents not to fight for their kids. The big D thought the “woke” crowd had more influence over purchasing power than they do. At the end of the day it’s parents who make the decision to bring their children to entertainment venues that benefit them. It’s a hard sell to tell these parents that a company that backs downright creepy views about what kids should be exposed too won’t have a perversion that comes through in their product. Regardless of what people say publicly, most are uncomfortable having their little ones taught about sexual topics at such a young age.

@@andrewgreeb916 I respectfully disagree. You can't reduce everything to a simple binary variable of "woke" or "not woke" to explain successes or failure. Disney is a corporation, like other corporations it will have good quarters, bad quarter, and exceptional quarters. However, what set Disney apart is its size and market share, it's too big to fail. Take the box office; 7 big films this year, two flops, but Disney has D+ with 160 mil subs, no other studio has that. These two flops went to streaming and became hits there with no marketing. As for the 5 other films; all hits; not only that but 2 of those became the 3rd and 7th highest grossing films of all time. Studios would kill for one film to hit 2 bil in their lifetime but Disney did it twice in one year because they own most of the top franchises including MCU and Avatar. I can't believe Disney was allowed to become this big; their market share is 35% in visual media and 42% in theme parks, and the Disney bundle now surpassed Netflix in subs.

Then Hook came out in the early 90s and provided another Peter Pan but still very much based on the original story. Not much point in having an ip with an established fan base if you're going to trash the traditional story. You know what's ironic? Zootopia was an incredibly mature, nuanced take on the issues of the current day in a way that didn't demonize either side and wasn't so heavy handed or complicated that children couldn't enjoy it. It's one of my favorite Disney movies and I'm always impressed every time I see it at how well it handles the issues. Even the predator/prey metaphor, which was meant to represent racial tensions, was intentionally set up so it wouldn't be a perfect fit for any race, thus not demonizing any one group of people. By having a police officer at the center of the film who overcame her own prejudice and ignorance and had the integrity to quit when she wasn't living up to her duties, it showed what the police should be and honored good officers while also calling out its real potential to abuse that role. It's an absolutely fantastic movie that promotes unity and even showed how good people can still have prejudice and that they need to be educated, not shamed for it. That movie isn't even very old, it came out in 2016. What happened to Disney?? How did they go from creating a modern masterpiece that criticized identity politics to this in under 10 years?

Nope. Disney keeps expanding their market share; now at 35%; both box office and the streaming wars were won by Disney: Some liberals claim the opposite; Elon Musk went anti-woke and went broke; he entered the Guiness Book of Records for the largest loss in personal wealth in the history of our species. Twitter is now worth 9 bil, Tesla lost half a trillion in value. Also, Kanye West went anti-woke and went broke; he's no longer a billionaire. That anti-SJW film fell apart before production, Candace Owen's Glorifi anti-woke bank, every right-wing social media platform, Gina Carano's western film..... Is anti-woke goes broke narrative true? are those libs correct in reducing all these issues to a simple binary of woke or non-woke to explain its troubles? after all that's what you guys did and keep doing. @@animezilla4486 You're free to think that, but with how bad Ant-man 3: Quantumania is, there's very little reason to have any faith in things getting better. As for Elizabeth Banks, it's true that she's doing well with Cocaine Bear, but, she had no faith in that movie herself, and felt that it would ruin her career - and using that as a basis for her comeback, or getting better doesn't fit that well, because it's not like she came back and made another Charlie's Angels movie that did better. Even then, that would still only be one bad movie matched against one good movie, whereas with Marvel, we have all of phase 4 (with the exception of Spiderman: No Way Home), plus the new Ant-man movie all telling us that things are going to continue on this bad path. Marvel themselves have not shown improvement, whether it be in their movies, or in their comics. No reason to have hope at this point.

What’s most sad is that the core quality of storytelling seems to be gone, papering it over with identity politics put in by woke writers who don’t share mainstream values with their mainstream audience. So even if Disney said, “guys no more woke stuff in film” they’d just look at each other and say how? EG they can’t write females without them being obnoxiously domineering, they can’t write a minority character without them having a chip on their shoulder, they can’t create major plot points of moments of development without them being soaked in “becoming a more understanding, tolerant person.” So all the values that speak to audiences they resent, no strong men, no women ever needing help, no development that centers around being brave, noble, self sacrificial - it’s like asking a Russian what capitalism is like - they’ll know mechanically but their understanding of it is so tainted by what they think is wrong with it that you’ll never get a good answer. So yeah, it’s an impossible fix unless you actually fire Disney writers and staff, and hire completely different people. And no that’s not gonna happen. So the quality will continue to be in the toilet even without WOKE stuff.

These woke defenders either misconstrued the argument or just flat out dismiss any argument cause it's a movie for "kids" Little Mermaid live action for example. "So mermaids cant be black you're racist" No no one ever said mermaids cant be black you're deliberately misconstruing the argument to fit your narrative, Ariel is white. "No in the original Danish Fairy Tale she was translucent" Yes but this is a remake of the animated adaptation where she is white. Again misconstruing the argument. "Well her skin color isnt important to her character" Actually it is cause while it isnt a direct adaptation of the Danish fairy tale the animated movie obviously take place in a European setting and a predominately white population in that era would 9 times out of 10 never show affection for a different race. Then they would also shift the argument "You're really mad at a movie for children" Yes cause it's a nostalgia bait movie meant to entice original fans, while many children will see it the core demographic of these life action remakes is people who grew up with the originals and want to see them in a different light. At the end of the day dont argue with retards they will find any way they can to call you racist cause they are a cult.

I collected all the Power of the Force Star Wars figures when I was a kid and can tell you objectively that not only was the quality better...how they released them was as well. First off, I could never find Boba Fett or Princess Leia. I would go to Toys R Us, K-Mart, Hills (that should give away my location) and scour through the racks of figures. Eventually I found 1 of each. They did not oversaturate the market. Most likely they released lower amounts of Leia because she is a woman and Fett sold out because he looked cool to young kids like me. Also, by the time the 2nd Gen of PotF was released (green background), all the oranges were off the shelf (sold at full price). The ultimate example is the Millennium Falcon. The PotF one was awesome. It was huge. Both Han and Chewy could sit in the cockpit. You could take the back off and reenact adventures in living area. The Force Awakens one is inferior in literally every single way and they have the balls to charge the same price (inflation adjusted). Bottom line, both the franchises suck in addition to the toys actually being cheaply made shit.

Although I've been sick of Disney for years now, my last straw is the Snow White (2024) and it hasn't even come out yet. I looked up the cast and died a little bit inside. The movies of my childhood are truly dead, I don't think I will ever enjoy a modern movie again. At first they would change a character or 2 and say what's the big deal and we couldn't say anything. Now, they change the whole cast without a single F. Out of the 15 named cast for Snow White on IMDB only 3 of them are Northern European....in a German fairytale, the rest are African American, Asian or Hispanic. That's why I class myself as a Gatekeeper without shame. I will never accept anything less than 100% faithful adapation because if you give these radical extremists an inch they'll keep taking until you have nothing left.

I don't think Warner will do so well. The king of Merchandise Hill is Paw Patrol, a preschool show. Toys are primarily for children, collectors can be a source, but they pale in comparison but only the ones for the 4-6 crowd are moving any real numbers while older kids are more interested in social media. I think we are about to get into a dark age for IP, what that important younger demographic is into is not so easily merchandised or adapted to traditional media, expect a collapse in toys and traditional media.

When you have a laundry list of characters to expand upon? Why has War Machine been sidelined for so long? Don't get me started on X-Men and the FF. It feels like content for the sake of content. Yes, ultimately this all exists to make money, but it's the writer's job to make us forget that. There's no new intrigue or curiosity when they make these shows and films. It doesn't feel like an ongoing story that's being expanded, it feels like something made to capitalize on an IP for the sake of it. And now the movies and shows are being used as direct advertisements for each other, which makes things feel more corporate and fake (e.g., Dr. Strange 2 being a sequel to Wandvision, rather than Dr. Strange 1). And this is made worse when you have derivative characters that can't stand well on their own (e.g., we've already seen Iron Man and what he can do, so what does Iron Heart do to justify having her own show?). And of course, all this becomes harder to track and make sense of for an average viewer, especially when you get into time travel and multiverse nonsense (you can't reset the movie universe when things get inconvenient like you can in comic books). There's nothing more corporate than seeing a slate of films and shows in a franchise for the next 5+ years announced all at once, especially when there are unproven characters in it (e.g., the Eternals).

Disney can ignore the reality that wokeness is poison, but it can't ignore the consequences which accompany that ignorance. They can ignore the moral wrong of wokeness, but they can't ignore the financial consequences. Thing is, they probably know that if they scrubbed wokeness from all new projects tomorrow, they'd be making money hand over fist. Spider-Man: No Way Home had basically zero wokeness in it, and it did amazingly well. Avatar 2 had basically no wokeness in it apart from "don't kill the whale m'kay" and despite the fact that it was about mostly naked cat people, it also made over $2 billion as Avatar 1 did. But Avatar can't support Disney forever. Each quarter or two, Disney+ alone bleeds about as much cash as Avatar 2 made in profit, and the Avatar movies do not sell much merchandise, unusually. People see that because they love the hypnotically beautiful scenery, but the flat characters and stereotypical plot prevent people from wanting to buy the toys and in a way, act out that sort of half-naked blue cat person life. As it is, Disney's being kept alive by the parks.

I heard a guy say how easy it would have been to put Chadwick's stunt double in the suit and show the man dying like the hero he portrayed. They couldn't let us have that. They couldn't let Boseman's family have that. By all accounts, Boseman was a good dude in Hollywood and the real world. Maybe that's why they wanted to drop an upper decker on his memory.
