That Sepultura album sith skull is my all time favorite metal record from old school. The skeletal (no pun intended) producttion , tight playing , writing all on point. Taking into account knowing how more cool they gonna get in the future makes it even more hard. This is like “Resrvoir Dogs” of Sepultura. Dont know how to explain it.

Oh man, I agree 100% with the "it work best when they're barely holding it together" opinion. To me that's almost like listening to an improvisation, it feels so much more free and exciting. That's one of the reasons I love NOFX's Animal Liberation, the whole records is on the brink of disaster. That's what hardcore should be imo.

I’m a little late this time, apologies Finn. I think you’ve shared your opinion on misfits before, in a previous video and it’s really the only thing I disagree with you on. Graves era Misfits was iconic! However, when I saw the “Cincinnati chili” image, I immediately thought it was “makaronia me kima” which is essentially what you call “Greek spaghetti sauce” 😂 So there you have it, you earned your like once again ❤

One thing though that I think the Graves era had going for it that the Danzig era lacked were the intro tracks. But that's probably just because most or a handful of my favorite albums all have intros.

Speaking of Sepultura, Max and Igor (Cavalera Conspiracy) rerecording the early albums has been awesome. Morbid Visions, Bestial Devastation, and Schizophrenia still hold that old raw sound but just cleaned up a bit and mastered in a way you can hear it all. They really kept the soul of those albums. It really shows you can record something with todays tech and keep the sound of a late 80's underground release.

How when the re-recordings lack the atmosphere of the originals and sound mechanical. That is an epic fail in my book.
