    Get a home now because it will go up. We are actively building apartments and homes still from 2014. So it shouldn’t be exaggeratedly hard like Austin that doesn’t build as much for some reason. But still recommend one.

    I am moving to SA soon, what are your thoughts about Helotes with driving to Lackland AFB?

    Helotes would put you in a really good spot for a decent commute to Lackland AFB. The Alamo Ranch area and the newer communities along Wiseman & Potranco are also popular for folks working at Lackland. Have you already found where you'll be settling, or were you still looking?

    I gotcha! We usually start the conversation pretty early with folks about their home search so they're not rushing to make a decision once their home sells. We'd be happy to discuss areas, answer any questions you might have, and help with getting a plan together. Would you be open to connecting with a member of our team sometime in the next week or so?

    I’m perplexed about 2 & 3. Dallas, Houston, Austin walks San Antonio in those categories. If the military bases weren’t here, this city would be dry.

    Man, that's a tough one. I'd love for my team to help you with buying a great home, but if you're not sure about being here for more than just a couple of years... I'd recommend you rent. Over the last few years you could get away with buying a place and selling it for more money after a year or two, but we're back in a more traditional market now where you should really plan to be in a home for 3-5yrs before selling, otherwise you're looking at losing money. There's always the option of buying a place that would be easy to rent out if you needed to. Many of our clients have had success with that if you'd like to explore it. Otherwise, I'd say to rent for a bit and then buy if you decide you'll be here long enough to at least break even on the home when you sell it.

    What are your thoughts on St. Hedwig?

    It's nice & quiet out that way. There are some newer developments going on, but it's kinda like Sequine in that it's a smaller, easy going town just a short drive from SA. Were you looking out that way?

    I want to move to Texas but I heard that the property tax is the highest. I am retired and am looking for a house in the 200 - 300 prive range with about 1700 sq ft. Is this possible.

  • @SanAntonioTexasLiving

    @SanAntonioTexasLiving

    For sure, we've helped a lot of folks in that price range find nice homes in great areas. Property taxes are a bit higher here, but without state income tax it's usually a wash for most people. There are also a lot of suburban areas just outside city limits with much lower taxes as well, so it all just depends. When were you thinking about moving?
