As a kinship caregiver who was thrown into what felt like a bottomless pool, I'm glad to see this fella's efforts to raise awareness

I just want you to know that you're a good person and you are doing something that MATTERS. Wishing you well from a year into the future.
I raised three nieces and a nephew. They are all grown up now. I cried during this talk. YOU ARE SPOT ON! I am writing a book called the Angel's Guide to Survival to help those in kinship care. I am also looking to talk on this subject. LOVE YOURS
I needed to see this video. I'm so thankful for God leading me here, and your words. My young nephews have been with strangers for almost a year now. Their parents haven't been able to get it together. And severance + adoption has been added to their case. My husband and I have five children, four still at home. Our youngest is 10, and these boys are toddlers! We'll have to move into a bigger place, get a bigger car, and create a lot of structure within our home & family... But if you're saying we need to be "keen, informed and flexible" to provide kinship care... If you're asking me to notice all the ways we already have or do provide kinship care... I think we can give it our best shot! We're the last hope towards keeping them with the family. My mom keeps reminding me. It's a lot. And I'm not- not afraid. I'm terrified! Lol! But the relationships this guy talks about, our relationships are worth it. And I need to remember always that with and thru God, I can do anything. If we take care of God's people, He will take care of me and my people. We meet the DCS caseworker tomorrow, to ask questions and hear the direction of the case. I'm leaning more towards licenced kinship care, rather than just kinship care. I know we'll need support, and the familys relationship with DCS hasn't been the smoothest- so going with a licensing agency just seems like a no-brainer. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you to anyone whose read this far as well! 😊
This guy is a game changer. So proud of him.
Awesome presentation. Awesome motivational viewing for me, as I am a 68 year old grandfather who recently became caregiver for my grandson.
