The sacrifices this father made to raise the money for a shelter for his son has been so heartfelt.
Every time I watch this movie, I am reminded of all the financial stress my parents had to go through while raising me. Even though I rarely got to see them due to work, I felt compelled to be the best student in school in order for me to take care of them in the future. I am forever grateful, thank you!

Hope you told them.... Tellin the KZread community really doesn't make much sense as 99.9% of the viewers don't give a flip. Guess lot of folks just need to share.... Personally proud of you that at such a young age you could set a goal so serious. At that age, with parents that totally ignored me, well until time to whip me like a mining mule for an imagined infraction, my last thot would be to attain greatness so I could take care of them. They are 90 and 80 something in 2024 and haven't seen them in months. They don't remember the "bad" years. Have two sisters that want everything they have taking care of them. So how does this all sound to you? Useless, right? Sorry. Bad day. Hope your life was better and that you achieved great success. Compared to my beginnings I'm a frigging billionaire. I've given back ten times what I recieved....ten times nothing except showing up when the sisters were too busy and no reward in it for them. Life's a hoot sometimes.

As a single dad in my 30s who has struggled with son much with my son this hits different now thanks for reminding me I'm a good dad you forget that sometimes

its not that out of the norm for any reputable business. my apprenticeship for body piercing was 2 years unpaid which ended up being more like a year and a half unpaid as i progressed faster than most do. gotta pay your dues to make the good money! i would tell anyone on the planet if you have a love for your field then it would be worth it every time!

Motels are freaking expensive. I lived in an “extended stay hotel” (it was a motel) and it cost $1k a WEEK and that was 10 years ago!! It was one room and a bathroom. And I don’t mean one bedroom, I mean you walk in the front door from the parking lot and it’s just a room with a bed and tv, “full size” fridge, one stove top burner and a sink and then a bathroom. $1m A WEEK!!! Housekeeping came once a week to empty trash, sweep and mop half ass and change the bedding (only what looked dirty. And it was crazy how many families stayed there who just weren’t approved for a lease on an actual house or apartment due to their credit

I saw this movie, but I didn't realize how hard of a time this person had, while trying to get a job. I don't understand why the wife left, who is not being abused. I understand that she also wasn't able to find work, so went where she could. It would have been a blessing for them to stay together, but we don't really get to see what the real problems were. Now, I have never seen anyone who deserves to be rich. I've had hard times, but God has blessed my hard times to include a place to stay. Prayers. No-one in this country should be homeless. I've seen the homeless refuse an apartment. They need mental care.
Dam that 1 guy didnt even realize that he was about to get the taste buds slapped out of him for mispelling happiness 🤣
I saw this movie. Made me cry. All the struggles he had.. everything😢😢and he survived.. this shows that no matter how down you are.. no matter how many failures you encountered. Its always YOU who will make a decision for yourself. Whether to pursue or just be in a situation where you are. Its the motivation that keeps us to move forward..❤❤❤ we can find motivation within ourselves.. ❤❤

this was one of Wills best performances. he should've won an Oscar for this role imho.
Great movie ❤️ Will and Jaden did a great job, and did Chris proud ❤️✊🏽
I remember this movie. This is the movie I cried when I watch it.
The lever... It has been added usually at top of steps and pushing down on it will open the door from the lever so it is not necessary to walk to the door to open it for guests!❤ I miss using it and my cousins and I would race to the lever just to have a excuse to use it when we were children!!! ❤It was fun!!!❤
Sometimes this reminds me of when i was little. I realized i didn't know things were tough i just thought it was fun and how things were.
What a quality 😍

This man deserves an OSCAR
The lever at the at the stair case is for wheelchair going up and down the stairs
The homeless man went on to make an international laughing stock of himself by assaulting a comedian on stage for telling a mild joke about his self important wife
this shit right here made me tear a few times throughout the movie. it was so good.
Maybe him constantly see his scanners is a sign
11:37 at first I thought it was for an elevator but then I saw it was a Bell crank lever
the lever is a mechanical means of opening the downstairs door from upstairs
In pursuit as we speak just being patient
Yo this day i still think jey and all of them knew he was homeless when they gave him the job

Eleavader . When you get ready to go up or down you move the lever to the other side and it now’s to stop
Since I haven't seen anyone speak on the question in the video, I believe that was a lever at the tops of stairs in old homes to open the door from the top of the stairs.
What is that lever?

The lever on the wall is a door opener.
The lever was used to open doors back in the 19 century
The Horatio Alger myth is the idea that anyone can rise above their circumstances to achieve success through hard work and sound ethics. The Horatio Alger literary hero is usually a young boy who ascends from impoverished circumstances to become respectable and successful through hard work and honesty.
This movie always gets me tearing

Pursuit of happiness, really good movie worth a full watch, it’s not as impactful in recap
That boy would then go on to write a script for a r.v show. Get an investment, a couple of friends and fly.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭GOD IS GOOD WHAT A BLESSING TO BE REWARDED FOR BEING GOOD🤝🏻
Will Smith is a fitting actor for this film because just like in the movie he's full of unnecessary drama and bad (sometimes impulsive) choices. * Taking huge risk by buying bone density scanner inventory with life savings and becoming a salesman ✅ * Not paying taxes on earned income ✅ * Always showing up late and proceeding to not pay parking fines ✅ * Getting an unpaid internship ✅
I can’t watch this movie, because me and my family been through this before
