Have you seen Xi Jinping? He understands English perfectly well, but chooses to answer only in Chinese. I remember a story that EK Nayanar told us - Mulayam Singh Yadav (then UP CM) sent him an official letter in Hindi. The Kerala CM replied in Malayalam. Mulayam got the drift, after that all official communication came in English. 😂😂

If we compare the villages in Kerala with other Indian villages, I would say it is far ahead with basic infrastructure. Kerala has less garbages, excellent road connectivity, developed towns, decently equipped hospitals, upgraded government setups (offices, schools, hospitals), very few people spit on the road, almost everybody reads English (though they can't converse fluently), easy for government officials to coordinate with people, if there is a crisis. But these are the very basic things which everybody should have and it is not a big deal that Kerala has it in the 21st century. However I would say Kerala is nowhere in the picture, if we have to compare the employment growth and Kochi is far behind any metro cities in India.

By 21st century u are comparing with developed countries... In developing county.. Having basic amenities is a big luxury... Most states doesnt have such villages.... They may be developing some chosen region while the other 90% of state population living in other areas would be dying for basic things such as water even So if we dont have big cites at this time its alright... Because we are laying our base as a developing county only... But as future goes on.... Cities will start to sprung up so whole kerala population would be a futuristic region.. Because all the people of kerala are cultured according to 21st century in a homologous manner

health care is good in kerala. It would be interesting to remember how Maharani Gouri Parvathy, ruler of Travancore, tackled Cholera in the 1800's. Allopathy dr's were requested to train the traditional healers. At the same time, it created havoc in Bengal, Bombay and Bangalore. Later it spread to SE Asia, Europe, ME etc... Keralites are hard working and willing to work outside kerala. Remittance makes all the difference. As long as those opportunities continues, kerala will do fine. Garbage? Compare cities like Indore with Kerala cities. You will get the answer. In swatch bhaarath ranking, kerala city ranks are 300 plus. You can take garbage and throw it in the sea and make the bridge 'appear' clean. There is no solid waste management facility. Public debt rose 70% in the last few years. Mostly 'no return' category. Debt per malayali is more than 1 lakh. Industry should come to kerala. Unemployment and UNDER employment are serious issues. Education is good. but if you want to take masters in economics etc, you need to go to Delhi, TN, Maha etc. Road connectivity: Plan a trip from Calicut to Kannur by car. Narrow roads, no median!. Bypass projects that got approved in 70's finally made some movement in the last 4 years. Thanks to Nitin Gadkary and team. Alappuzha bypass: state did not allow NHA to do it. They made a less than 10 meter wide road, NO MEDIAN. Check out the Mumbai Delhi expressway. 23 more such in the pipeline and compare that to Alappuzha bypass etc... Center has come up with economic corridors. They can generate jobs in the south. State should try to have a cordial relationship with the center. Pinarayi talked about secularism. SDPI district president from TVD openly revealed that in the most recent election, LDF and UDF requested them for their support and they offered. Video available on KZread. That explains (lol) 2 years back, an NRI using his life long savings tried to build a convention center in Kannur. The approving authorities gave him such a hard time... he committed suicide. Approval came a week later. That explains 'ease of business'. Imagine how a project like a convention center can boost economic activities/job creation etc... Kerala should try to 'protect' the agriculture land. It is a blessed state. Should they get rid (or shrink) of non performing PSU's like KSRTC? Good idea to take expensive loans and distribute free kit to well off keralaites? Even USA does not distribute stimulus package that way. All constructive criticism. Please don't take me wrong.

Because it is true. I have been to many villages in Kerala and UP. Looks worlds apart. Also caste based raped used to happen in Kerala a hundred years back. In UP it still happens. What can I say if not some villages in UP are a century behind Kerala. Thanks to Social reformers like Sri Narayana Guru who reformed the caste thinking of the people in Kerala. Have you seen the hospitals in Kerala it looks even better than private hospitals. Schools are excellent in facilities. Roads water sanitary facilities. Education let's not even talk about it. It is not prejudice. It is simply the dark truth. Been to UP many times especially the villages in Eastern UP and Bihar. They look a century behind. Electricity is still absent in most homes as most cannot afford it. In Kerala every single house is electrified. Quality of life in the both states are so different.

The thing about Kerala Govt is that they haven't played Petty politics. They didn't complain like AAP in Delhi. They asked repeatedly for help from Centre. When help was given they've always credited the centre. When it wasn't the state funds were used. That's how you deal with emergencies.

How can one equate Vijayan to Modi, Vijayan is more far sighted and do not use religious sentiment to get support.

Who said the Leftist Democratic Front in Kerala is following Marxism? The Marxist Party is just one component of the LDF. Pure Marxism can never be applied to the Indian context. If it has to, it has to be a different constitution. The LDF is as much as democratic as the BJP or any other party for that matter. What LDF is, is a more ideologically socialist spectrum. That's all. In the Indian context 'pure' Marxism, or Leninism or Naziism or fascism cannot be applied. Only adaptations can be there. The reason why the LDF is behaving the way it is, is a reflection of what the BJP is doing at the center. BJP is the monster that you talk about coz it set the benchmark.

The people who go to middle east don't go for ceo jobs, most go for blue collar jobs like plumbing, construction work, electrician. There are IT parks in kerala bt companies are fed up of hartals/strikes every month and are hesitant to invest. The infrastructure is poor. There is no doubt that kerala is visually beautiful and has smart people but politics has ruined it.

@@Sonydev19 atleast keralites got basic education so they can easily get a job on other countries. The plumbers, electrician and technicians works overseas they have diploma certificate. The labours from UP and Bihar they are not expert in anything they don't have enough skill to work in foreign countries. How can someone get a job if they don't have basic education?. Look at the literacy rate.
