I didn't like the Slaf pick when we made it, and through the rookie tournament, training camp and pre season I haven't seen anything to change my mind yet. He was a player that struggled to produce in Liga and it shows, he seems to run out of gas fast and I don't recall a single dangerous scoring chance for him through like the ~5 games I've seen him play with us so far.

By the way Tony, I was 26 years old during the 1972 series…watched every game.

New fan learning the game. What I found interesting was you mentioning player welfare and not getting rid of fighting yet. Is this something you want to see Tony and think needs to happen?

We all need PATIENCE and to relax. We're in good hands with a very competent management team. It takes TIME to rebuild and to modernize but we'll get there in 2 or 3 years IMO.

@@bibafortuna I have no issue with him but he has a role and the first line isn't it. I mean it's preseason and they shuffle things around. I'm just looking for offense. Don't care how much they lose this year.

Continue re-build and let Slaf continue to develop in the minors...he still has a lot to learn.

Absolutely agree in preseason, expand the players available on the bench. 24, 25, 26. Does it really matter? Provides a safety net for everyone in what are, essentially, meaningless games.

As someone who attends games and has always been a Habs fan the losing culture really bothers me. I get that they aren’t a great team and the upcoming draft is deep however I still want to be entertained. I just hope this rebuild goes quickly and they can get back to winning sooner than later (Yes I am impatient😅)

The fans that could not accept a losing culture for a few years is the reason we never had a Stanley Cup for the last 30yrs, lol. Every season we would sign overpaid vets (biggest joke was Scott Gomez @ 8mil like 15yrs ago), and make bad trades etc, and all for what. To lose in the first round, IF we even made it to the playoffs? Need to fill up the shelves with talent, then we can go places. Patience my friend :)

@@juliencormier8760 agreed, and although i think we will be a much better team in 2-3yrs from now, im not sure if we will be a Stanley Cup contending team, but hopefully very close. Next years draft pick will most likely play a big factor in that as well. Our cupboards are full of mid level talent, but still lacking those Elite Franchise pieces

I thought Hab fans and the press would be patient with Slav.... boy was I wrong. This city is terminal in shooting itself in the foot with the future.... hence 30 years of futility.

Sick, sick, sick. I do not like losing to Toronto under any circumstances…I agree there should be more players available in preseason…these games are meaningless in terms of league position and at best, they give management and fans a glimpse of the team’s prospects and conditioning of starters.

It feels Montreal management is specifically putting Slav with mediocre players so they are letting the fan base know he will be sent to Laval.. Hughes does not want to let slip his intentional plan to continue to be bad this year. Though I bet the owner wants Slav on the team to sell tickets, but it will not happen!

Habs fans dont understand that an 18 year old player from Europe who played a totally different playstyle while he was there, will not adjust to the north american hockey style in a matter of 5 games. I am starting to think that Habs will just ruin Slafkovsky and he would be better off with any other team in the NHL.

Guys.... Matthews played in Swiss-A for a year before joining the leafs, who cares if he doesnt make the roster this year. Shouldn't even come as a shock he's not NHL ready

Honestly almost never disagree but this time… Piltick and Armia were both visibly better than Slafkovsky. Slafkovsky doesn’t seem to think the game quick enough or have the skillset to do what he wants to do at this level. I’m sure it will come in time but looks like he needs 1-2 years in Laval to get where he needs to be.

The Montreal fan....can't look beyond their nose. This management wants to build a winner not a perennial loser....like the last 50 plus years of the Leafs.
