It's a natural feeling! We all get lonely sometimes, the weather, the time of year, losing someone, many reasons, still a natural occurance. However your brain is sending a message . You need someone close. You've been in a relationship, there are good in all or we wouldnt connect at all. Spend time watching videos on utube, there's great joy in connection with others. You may need to become conneted to someone that connects with you. Maybe take some trips with somene and see if that's what your looking for. Wanting to connect is a wonderful feeling, God gave us the desire to be one by one and then two. It may take on a little work in arranging part of your life but it's worth it. Finding a companiion a 4 ft one or 2 legged one. Enjoy the search just Don't stop videoing we need you ! Seriously

Mav, the woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with ended it with me last month after 3 years. I can’t even express the anguish I felt during that first week. Gone through similar stuff in my life. It has sort of taught me not to get too attached to a woman which is good in theory but tough to put into practice. Just know that women are always looking to upgrade their situation and there's likely little you could do to prevent her from leaving you. Be strong man.

Long story short my Dad was an abusive violent alcoholic crackhead and I spent 39 years living there to keep him from killing my mom few day before Christmas he did it again and I defended my mother from him and a week later he died. Of course my mother blamed me and kicked me out and I was living in my truck for a little over six weeks and I discovered your videos which helped me feel not so alone in my truck those nights so I definitely know how you feel! I’m in an apartment and living on my own for the first time in my life and healing through so many years of violent trauma and your videos inspire me to learn how to cook as well! Thanks for the videos and all the hard work you put into them! Keep up the great work!

Mav, I think the fact that you've gone to the trouble of creating this video shows incredible self-awareness and personal growth. As we get older, we start to worry less about what others think of us and more about how we feel about ourselves. That's true growth and maturity in action. That you can have the bravery to share your feelings with others to possibly help them cope with similar feelings is a testimony of what a good person you are inside. While we all would prefer to think that there is a perfect world somewhere, it just isn't so. There are always issues that will come up and have to be dealt with in some manner. I can remember my dad saying that life is not about avoiding problems, it's about dealing with them in a fair and just way. So congrats Mav, you're doing a great job and we appreciate you in ways you might never know.

I dropped out of school at 15 because of anxiety, depression. Most thought it was cause I was lazy, stupid. My dad passed away after 4 years of dementia late 2020 (was only 50) & then shortly after my dog of 16 years passed. I've never talked to anyone about any of it really. Leads to a lot of lonely nights. Your videos have helped me thru many of those nights, Mav. Really do appreciate you.

Sorry to hear you lost your Dad at 50 from Dementia, Dementia also took my Mom on December 4th 2021, same almost with my dog of 9 years, he hasn't died, but became diabetic and he went blind from it. So trying to help a dog that wa once active now walking into walls and needing help to go outside to do his bussiness.. grief comes in all forms, i also lost my half Sister on December 12th, died in her sleep at 48, my Brother passed away on January 12 2012 of a heart attack we think, he was also diabetic since a young age of 5 and it could have been complications from it. So i feel lonely alot even when around people, saving up some money to go someplace i want to travel to and maybe get that chance to grieve, i haven't grieved yet from any of my loses yet...good luck in finding some happiness

Hey Mav - I feel what you’re laying down. Super hard to cultivate meaning without an immediate community to share in the successes n failures of it. It’s prob why a lot of us go crawling back to that steady job, even after making the big escape. It’s not even about the money or the security, but far more about the community and the home of it: the direct sense that you’re an integral part of that which surrounds you, not an outsider always looking in. Anyway, great to see you got to Nova Scotia! Too bad the weather didn’t work out. That is, indeed, a great stretch of drive. Thinking on hitting it on a bike next week. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for a big white truck ;) ✌️

Mav! Firstly, thank you for being real and for sharing. There was something I once learned: we all have a tendency to get triggered or to feel a certain way - say being lonely. And if we know we have such frequent tendencies, we can put things in place to prolong the time it takes before that hits or to cope with it better. So when it comes to loneliness, perhaps our cure is just to be around people - so then it’s putting in pit stops in your road trips to involve some social elements instead of waiting till you feel the feeling inching before you do something about it. It’s like if you know you wanna prevent yourself from getting hungry at night, you eat adequately or take snacks throughout the day to prevent that! Of course, nothing wrong with feeling lonely and we should all have that course through us and sit with it so we can understand what it does to us. But also no harm thinking ahead to prevent that from hitting you as hard :) Secondly, I wonder if there’s a way for us to help you feel like you have a community that you can actively engage with instead of only via comments on videos you’ve published (if you ever think you want that) - perhaps it’s sharing updates as you are on channels like Instagram so we can engage with you, or having some sort of AMA or whatever. Could be nothing but thought of suggesting as food for thought. Lastly - Indomie. It’s what I grew up on and there’s so many of such type of dry instant noodles. As the name suggests it’s from Indonesia. Indomies have several flavours - but there are also other similar brand like Ibumie (the original flavour is my FAVOURITE). You should 1) boil the noodles then remove it (like what you did though would cook it in a pot on a stove top) 2) add a sunny side up and even processed sausages and it tastes like home 😂 And definitely so easy to make and such a great taste. Wish it were easier for me to send you Asian food/snacks internationally, I’d have so much to recommend! For now, hang in there man!

I was having these same thoughts about loneliness today! You're right, it's hard to find those few who get you and it's important to have a sense of some kind of community and contribution. You are inspiring a lot of people to re-imagine their lives and that's a great contribution, but I get that you also need what we all do, another kind of sense of connectedness. I really appreciate your honesty and transparency about these thoughts. I'm alone a lot and generally like it, but I was thinking today that for me there is too much negative self-talk, and also sometimes it gets too easy to just not connect. It takes effort, that's for sure.

Mav, I been watching your videos for a while. As an older, handicapped guy in the Midwest that lives alone, I don't get around much. I spend a lot of time on KZread watching a variety of different things. Came across your channel last year and found it interesting. This latest video, I see you have a philosophical side that I've never seen before. It's good, what you say about loneliness, anger, etc..... it's true, and it really makes sense! I know there's someone out there that needed to hear it. Thank you for the prophetic message. As YOU would say, Keep On Truckin' !

Posted about this frequently during my time doing van life. It sucks, van life is dirty, hard, and not what social media makes it out to be. It's lonely, it's miserable at times, but at the end of the day you get to do what you love, and see amazing places, meet cool people and eat good food. I spent almost 2 months in Moab, that was the only time during van life I felt a sense of community. One thing that helped me a ton was doing this with my dogs. A puppy may change things up for you, I'd consider it for sure if that's something you think you could handle.

I started drinking everyday to fill the void of loneliness. But since I started watching your videos about a couple months ago, I’ve realized that learning to be by yourself and in the process learning of yourself, is the most important thing you can not only do for yourself but to the ones you absolutely care about! I’ve learned so much from you Mav in more ways than you may think. You’ve truly taught me through your videos that being alone isn’t bad. When we are alone we have time to reflect, which is important.. as you said the key is to not dwell on it. Reflection and realization is useful but dwelling leads to anxiety. It’s good to see that someone who inspire me, are feeling so emotional about what he is doing with his own life. I just started my own business in the fitness industry in México with small group classes but I’m feeling really sad and anxious because I’m no getting so much people interested in my classes. I don’t know if this is my fault for being off track, or cause I’m not putting more time and energy in doing the work perfectly. Currently I’m earning 150$/month and i just finished my bachelors degree in sports science :(. Thanks for being transparent i feel better to see that, in life nothing is lineal there’s high and low moments.

Loved the video, and its message! It was a well needed reminder, and I will definitely return to this video when needed. At the same time, your channel for me, is a way to escape the exact issues, talked about in this video. Keep doing your thing Mav!

You sum up the sentiment of being alone and/or not being able to share special times, much better than many of us twice or more your age. In retrospect I wish I had had such a mature view on the topic as you when I were your age. Now, as I am well into my 40s and experiencing it again, knowing that I’m not “alone” is useful. 😊
