Don't listen to the other guy, Spaceball is a star wars parody full of idiots and none the wiser, it's an entirely different genre of comedy. If you want idiots taking on serious stuff, try Tropic Thunder, The Dictator or Spy(2015), though if you're a fan of the genre, I wouldn't be surprised you've seen them all. They have extremely high stakes, and the goofy protagonists are surrounded by professionals, but they all manage to save the day in the end.

@@enochlo9156 Tropic thunder is an absolute gem. Kirk Lazarus is on par with Tony Stark as roles played by Robert Downey Junior in my opinion.

The dude in the background is legit holding back his laughter

"You're telling me the CIA doesn't have North face jackets and some pirate booty? Captain crunch?" God that line of dialogue really resonates with me.

franco basically tells you the ending to all of his movies in a scene just like this where they explain that franco has an extremely stupid and impossible plan..and then that's exactly what happens.
