Jeffs forbid his followers having computers or cell phones, yet he had both when he was captured. If the workers belonged to the church, they took the girls back to the men to who they'd been forced to marry. The church was also located close to an area where three states border each other. To avoid authorities from one state, they'd run across the state line.
