For me, it feels… fitting @@zero-one2585, the strongest Belmont, the one who finally ends their night hunt has both the song of one of the original OST and the…. _second black sheep of the series_ because he failed to get married to someone and combine it together Also, I like how Castlevania all have ok to good to great to fucking legendary levels of games and then there’s… Legends… and Order of Shadow… and Haunted Castle… yeah, those 3 exception kinda ruin the series nearly perfect track record

@@keelanbarron928 yes, they added a lot of music from HD into Smash, sadly this one doesn't play on Julius' spirit battle and you don't even fight Richter with the Julius costume. What a waste of material...

Julius theme in Aria of Sorrow has a part of the theme "Don't Wait Until Night" from Haunted Castle, a part of the theme "Heart of Fire" from the first Castlevania, and and own part in the middle of both themes.

Julius' theme from Aria of Sorrow is the bext mix of the two. It's perfect :)

Aria of sorrow is my favorite version! When the BGM starts, you will feel energized, and ready to beat anyone. The most beautiful part starts from 21:36.

I remember the first time I heard harmony of despair/aria of sorrow’s version I was skeptical. I thought “the actual song is only 1/3 of it” but its grown on me and now I love how it builds up and “dont wait til the night” is an excellent song in itself

I straight up didn't know there were Commodore 64, MS-DOS, and Amiga versions of Castlevania.

@@castlevaniamusicforever the DOS version of castlevania was the closest anyone with PC only could get to playing CV without NES ... and even then the performance is so-so for the PCs back then ... ie, 286/386 era ... but the gameplay is very identical - just not as solid as the original ...

@@HarbingerYT I went and check the particular song in question.....despite being on a better hardware, literally sounds COMPARABLE to that version of Heart of Fire, instruments and all. And even that he's right, the MS-DOS version of Heart of Fire does sound better than Central City.

I love how originally, it's kind of tense and then later it sounded like something out of Megaman or a fighting game and I absolutely love it

I don't exactly remember it, bpt maybe it was something about the 1999 events and the game that could have covered it that never came out.

All version rated (because this is a mashup of 2 separate songs so i rated each version and a mixed version): * Heart of Fire + NES - FDS: Very nice, and i suprised that both are the SAME track + MSX2: Very good, and almost same as the original + Commodore: PLEASE FIX THE SOUND PLEASE COMMODORE! + DOS: When MIDI rises... (PC speaker sound weird, Tandy even WEIRDER, AdLib save the day...) + OoS: Very nice soundfont... * Don't wait until Night + Haunted Castle: ABSOLUTE BANGER!!! * Julius Belmont's Mix + Aria of Sorrow: Good song but GBA need to have a soundchip... + Harmony of Despair: Wow, this is very epic, but... Aquarius is already my favorite in this game...

The composer of the C64 version, Kris Hatlelid, did a much better job on his earlier works, which is odd.

Harmony of Despair version is the best IMO.

This heart of fire is i think its based from Castlevania 1 torture chamber stage when you fight grimreaper as boss

It would be cool to hear all of these shifted an octave down. Evry thing is better down tuned in general

It's already in: the version from Harmony of Despair is the same one that's in smash

While Haunted Castle isn't good, I do like the song is called "Don't Wait Until Night" there and it plays as you assault the castle at daytime

Did this song not appear in Castlevania chronicles, or that computer game it was an enhanced port of? I think that was a reimagining of Castlevania 1, so I'd be surprised if it didn't appear. I think the PS1 game even let you chose different versions of the OST based on the different soundcards

I don't know if it's really inspired or if it's just a coincidence, but the Abandoned Castle theme from Curse of Darkness has a part that sounds very similar to a certain part of Heart of Fire. Check it at the 1:50 mark of that song.
