I have been a survivalist since my Marine Corps days during the Vietnam Era and trees have given me an understanding of life thru their energy and teachings. Great video and VERY informative. Yes please. The resin of the Pine tree is also Antiseptic. If you have cuts, you could smear some resin on your cut to prevent infections. In Buffalo USA, there was a huge Blizzard. 31 people died frozen because they have abandoned their cars. And also, they died inside their cars because they didn't have a "Get-Home-Bag" to keep them warm. I was mocked when I told them to have at least 6 pouches of handwarmers, survival candle (3 wicks) and an emergency blanket at all times in the glove compartment. That's also a video idea.

Many years ago, I talked to a young man who had grown up living in Alaska, and he said they did not go anywhere without what is basically all I get home bag in the trunk of your car with sleeping bags, gas stove, candles, parkas, food, water in case they got stuck out someplace

@@jimbarrett5930 Exactly. That's what you should have in your Get-Home-Bag. The 3 items that I mentioned are the strict minimum to have. The guy that mocked me had everything but the toilet seat. He forgot to put a Panther tank. 😂😂 But the life-saving items, he had none (sleeping bags, multi-fuel stove, candles, parkas, Emergency blanket, food, water, hand warmers, tarp, Rain poncho).😂😂

It's amazing what all are you can use from trees to survive. On some trees you can even consume certain layers of Bark once roasted over a campfire. And it's pretty tasty too. 😊 Thank you my beautiful brand for these awesome tips. 👍♥️✌️

Awesome informative video Vanessa! Another reason for knowing your trees is for foraging wild mushrooms; knowing trees and what kind of terrain they grow in helps in foraging. I love how you describe the trees. I’ve been telling vegetarian, and vegans this for years. The fact that a lot of them give the reasons of not wanting to harm animals as to why they don’t eat meat. I tell them about how research has shown that plants actually communicate, have feeling, and are more than just a stick in the ground. So they don’t want to eat something because it’s alive? Does It have to have a face to be viable in their perverted eyes?

Very good and yes you covered all the species I would have mentioned for bushcraft--- for Europe. But you covered the Northern Temperate zone as well even though things are a little bit different in NA. Why not cover trees useful for homesteading in permaculture or even foraging long term. We still share a few useful species between NA and EU that you didn't cover.

Watching this Vanessa it just dawned on me how good your English is, some fairly hard word to pronounce, but you drifted over them loud and clear with little problem, fertility I think the word is your looking for, but I really wish my German was as good, then I could buy your books. great information, only one thing, in artic countries we for sure build furniture and much more with birch, because here it is a Hardwood, because of the long winters and the extreme cold we have in Scandanavia the wood is very dense and hard, but it needs long dry time or to be cut in the winter. here it is the firewood of choice. i wished we had oak and beech trees here. great video keep them coming

I learn something new today. most of these trees are luxury wood for one of my hobbies, but where I live we don't have these, except the oak. Place I was born, I was around 11years old and I knew most of the eatable plants and trees, My Grandma used to take me to collect them, now I been living in USA for about 38 years, don't know any eatable trees or bush around here (beside the ones I plant in my Garden), the only one I take from the forest are chantarelles mushrooms. I would love to learn more about these, thanks for sharing.

I appreciate very much your video on how to use these trees. A couple of years ago on one of your fall or winter solo camping videos, you put Juniper needles in your water bottle to make a tea. I looked for the video but I haven’t found that video clip. Here in the eastern US we have a small, very pretty fir tree only about 3 or 4 ft tall called Norfolk Island Pine. It was found growing on small islands we call the Outer Banks off Virginia and North Carolina. This tree is poisonous and cannot be eaten or used to make tea.

Hi Vanessa, in relation to the spruce and pine resin, the word you were looking for was the verb to chew.( Kauen) So chewing the resin is good for stopping hunger 'pangs'. If you have lost a tooth filling it will stop the cavity temporarily. I like that you try to pronounce English words, and endearingly make slight mistakes, but understandable!. I would be rubbish at your language! It is good to share the knowledge of old Country medicines and remedies, and life in general. This seems to be almost lost in our modern world. Yes please, more about your Country/ Folk medicines and way of life

You should check out Storm Damage on my California Ranch, you will see I lost my most favorite giant oak tree in the last storm about a week ago. It was hundreds of years old, it breaks my heart. You can see it on the KZread channel Rivers End Outdoors. By the way what happened to your wiener dogs, do you still have them. Awesome video.
