I'm a Mexican food loving American, but I married a self-proclaimed Mexican food hating Brit. However, I've converted him quite simply with 2 dishes: chicken quesadillas and chicken tacos. I make my chicken tacos much like you described in the video, however I use a little orange juice instead of sugar. One of these days I'm going to get him to love enchiladas. It's a risk, but I love proving him wrong about food.
There is a bit of irony of Taco Arabes, which descended from Lebanese flavors, is mainly made with pork in present times

Bell actually stole the recipe from the Mexican owned taco place next door to him when creating Taco Bell.
BARBACOA! AL PASTOR! SCRAMBLED EGGS!! Also, as a mexican, I appreciate you clarifying that hard shell tacos are an American construct. If we want crunchy, we go with a flat fried or baked corn tortilla called a tostada, that's waaaaay easier to manouver and eat 😂

Actually, tacos dorados are very much Mexican, they can be open so you can add stuff to them or rolled and dipped into salsa.

Tacos dorados are absolutely Mexican, but are NOT the same as hardshell tacos, they will veeeery rarely split and betray you like a hardshell: for dorados the tortilla is deep fried after the tortilla is already made, whereas the hardness of the hardshell comes from the making process itself 😅

1:47 The Wizard of Oz is one of my favorite movies.
Now that's a topic I can get into.
At 11:15 There's a food truck near where I live in Tulsa called "Tacos El Chapulin". I have never eaten chapulines before, so I wanted to go there because I assumed they would have them. Well, I was wrong. They didn't have any kind of chapulines on their menu at all! They had all sorts of other tacos and such, including the lengua I ordered, which kind of sucked, by the way.
Thanks for featuring the Voice 😊👍🏼!
12:21 One of the most frequent family meals when I was growing up was hardshell tacos (Old El Paso or Ortega). We used to also have that Le Choy Family Dinner (can + dried noodles).

And what about gorditas, rolled tacos (or taquitos)? I'm sure I'll think of more, l live in the southwest close to Juarez. And two of my children are part native. Maybe it's a regional thing but every Hispanic in this area doesn't consider tacos to be made with flour tortillas, they consider that a burrito. They consider tacos to be made with corn tortillas. Take it for what it's worth.
Do Steak Sandwiches next… Philly Cheesesteaks, Beef on Weck, French Dips, Italian Beef, California style with tri tip… every part of the country has its own style
Thanks for usuful and valuable video as always ❤❤❤
My life changed the day I found a birria taco truck.
Thank again for this! 🌮
I used to hate tacos until I discovered soft shells. On bite of a hard taco and it falls apart.
A+ video! LOVE IT! Lots of rad tacos!
Birria and Al Pastor are my favorites 😊
You didn't touch on tostadas. I believe they would qualify as a flat taco. You mentioned Indian (Navajo) tacos, which are traditionally eaten flat on fry bread, so why weren't tostadas mentioned also?
Two thumbs way, WAY up on this WHF episode! 🌮🤤👍👍
5:08 We sang that song for class when I was in kindergarten at a country school called 4M. My mother was our teacher.
Birria tacos are my all time favorite I could eat those every day of my life and not get tired of them
9:49 On the YT Channel Our 80s Life, they buy a hoverboard from Back To The Future II and stick it to the wall with other 80s items. The video is "Basement Studio Reveal - We made a WALL OF 80s AWESOMENESS!"

Breakfast tacos have been around for well over a century. My grandma was born in Socorro, New Mexico in 1897 and when she was a kid they regularly had what are now known as breakfast tacos. Her grandmother made them for her and told my grandma that she ate them as a kid back when Mexico still owned the New Mexican territory (pre 1847).

TACOS!!!!!
40 years ago I was introduced to tacos by our Mexican neighbors. It was grilled chopped steak with cheese, black beans, and jalapenos on a corn tortilla. Haven't looked back. Like I say I had tacos long before my friends had taco bell
I know Taco Bell is not Mexican food. But I do love the taco supreme with lotso hot sauce.

There's a place called Rusty Taco in Gilbert, AZ that makes the best shrimp tacos. They're named "Dynamite shrimp tacos". Yes, they're very spicy and fantastic. I can eat 4 of them in one sitting. 🌮🥵😋👌
I tried chapulines at a Mexican restaurant and they weren't bad, just salty. The experience is almost like hot Cheetos with the savory crunch.
Didn't even include the Big Crunch Fried Grande Fiesta-Style Gordita Supreme with a Diet Coke. Or whatever they call tacos nowadays.
One of my high school classmates had the nickname Taco!
You forgot the best taco of all, the walking taco.
Ranker: I realize that you have limited capacity for research, but you forgot Carne Guisada. It's a style upon its own.
I like the lengua tacos at Beaver Taco, Beaver, Utah. They taste you back.
Theres been a hideous omission here...did you forget that Jack in the Box has had ACTUAL 'tacos fritos' since 1962 and has remained unchanged since that time. My only question is, WHERE do they get that WONDERFUL orange grease!!!!
I'm from the part of Latin America where tacos aren't well known, but I have tried some at a multicultural event that used to be held near where I live. I actually really enjoyed them, I wish they could get more popular one day. Though, I wonder if I put meat and stuff in a thin unsweetened pancake or crepe, would that count as a taco? Sidenote, taco can also mean high heel in Spanish and in Chile taco apparently means traffic jam
