Steely Dan's first tour was as an opening act for Cheech and Chong... I was fortunate to see them in 1974 prior to the release of Pretzel Logic, and it was epic. It held me over till they toured again in the 90's.

Solid review, Mike! I agree with 99% of what you went over. Glad to see someone show some love for “Two Against Nature”. My first big concert was Steely Dan at Mohegan Sun during the tour for that album. Some really underrated sax solos from Chris Potter on there. As for the Gary Katz production, my dad sold high end home theater setups for over 20 years and “Aja” was always one of the first albums that he’d use to demo how good the stereos sound.

Thanks for listening Zack! Those Chris Potter solos are definitely a highlight of the album for me. It must’ve been awesome to hear Aja through different high quality theater setups!

Of course "Everything Must Go" sounds like the leftovers of 2 Against Nature, it's implied in the title that it may very well be such the case. They're saying basically "Here's all we have left, everything must go now"

I feel like Gaucho is the last great SD album, relistening now to confirm 23:38

No way that Gaucho is B. A very underrated album that is much better than the credits it usually gets. Certainly better than Katy Lied and Two against nature.
