I can't stand Cassie. She doesn't have the DCC look, she rolled her eyes during her interview, nobody else would get away with that. She also got show group, calendar cover and team leader and she never had an office visit. IMO she got special treatment because of her mom.

I firmly believe that Cassie wouldn't have even made it to training camp if it weren't for Judy. She wasn't a great dancer (I mean she's not terrible, but she's a blender at best), I don't think they would have put up with her attitude from literally anyone else, and she's not very attractive tbh. The fact that she was a cheer world champ and could tumble was cool, but the small part of an all-star routine that has dance is VERY different from actual dance and the DCC don't tumble on the sidelines.

The fact that Cassie made it and Dayton didn't says something fishy is going on. Dayton actually moved her body like a dancer, Cassie looked stiff and brand new. They've cut veteran dancers for losing steam but somehow gave Cassie, who is mediocre at best, a spot. Also, Victoria is a shining star. I was so incredibly happy for her when she finally made the team

I remember watching that episode when it first came out. I haven't watched the show since then--except for the most recent (pre-Covid) season. Given how story-based reality tv is, I imagine that Cassie's breaks on the show were among one of the few "story arcs" on the show. "It would've looked bad in the ratings"--something like that. And also, according to the Mother's Day Confessions on Just 4 Kicks (the DCC podcast) Cassie refers to Dayton and Victoria as her best friends in real life.

I love that Meredith is now a US diplomat as I think she’s an incredible role model for young girls everywhere and is an especially wonderful representation of the organization. I love how much humility and genuine excitement that Madeline showed throughout her journey. Far more so than Dayton, Cassie and Victoria during her first year. I think that while Cassie was an excellent high school cheerleader, DCC is more so a dance team and she just didn’t have the skill to be a standout performer. I think Victoria matured a lot between her first and second year and had needed her first year as a wake up call that she wasn’t owed anything.

In my opinion Cassie made the team based on her interview and the fact Judy is her mom. Sure Shelly is one of Judy's main assistant choreographers but Dayton's interview in season 13 left a bad taste in the judges mouths and season 14 Dayton was still a softer dancer than need be and she got lost on the field. It's not right or fair, but that's nepotism at its finest.

Cassie, to me, didn't have that "Wow" factor like her Mom did. Her Mom smiled a LOT when she was on the squad. Cassie is not a smile type person, that's for sure. I kind of think there was some favortism on how she made the team and stayed for 5 seasons. You compare her DCC cheer photos and her Mom's DCC cheer photos, it's obvious her Mom had more of a sparkle on the team.

Comparing all the legacies that did and didn't make it, Cassie was definitely the weakest dancer. So it all adds up how there was a lot of nepotism going on because Dayton seemed apprehensive but she was a better dancer than Cassie by far. In my opinion, she should've been cut at least the first two years she tried out.

Oh Nepo Babies. Cassie wasn't a great dancer nor did she have a great stage presence at all. When appearance, beauty is so important for their brand and some rookies were given roster spots because their gorgeous appearance, personality far surpassed their dancing throughout (Kat, Meredith), Cassie was just cute with very average dancing but not a beauty. And it was so unprofessional of Judy to be hugging her daughter in rehearsal, making comments or treating her any differently at any point, especially at auditions. Judy should have remained a neutral professional during DCC hours. None of those Judges or Kelly were gonna not vote for her to get a roster spot so Judy took advantage of that. It was right to give Victoria another year to mature and get fit but Victoria has become victorious now and is my favorite DCC whether she decides to audition or not again in 2024. Victoria is the complete package, amazing dancer, well spoken, beautiful personality and gorgeous!
