He's such a talent and he legitimately just has fun doing whatever, but how does he have such an intrinsic understanding of the mechanics of music. He literally discovers things organically only to find out its some rule discovered by a long-dead genius like Bach or Mozart.

he's born a prodigy haha. I think his brain is just naturally wired to understand music in a special way that we wouldn't be able to understand normally. He's probably able to see certain patterns in music that we don't see naturally.

@@vanzyl2547 Yes, however Jacob is born within a music family and a room of many instruments as a playground, which basically made his brain "talk" in music and theory. It is not something everyone can do. Perfect pitch for example can only be learned by kids, usually younger than 12. There are many people around making beautiful music, but usually way older than him.
I love when he does those arrangements around a soloist, like he's not trying to overtake them or show them up but manages to complement them perfectly while allowing them to clearly shine It's not a skill many people have

You know...I started classical training at 8 years old, moving from Piano, to Trumpet, to Tuba (with which I got a degree in Music performance), Bagpipes, and then I found my passion as a singer. I have always just been...gifted as a musician, and it brings me great joy. But sometimes I then see something by Jacob and realize that no matter how much I were to practice, I will never be that good of a musician...and I feel empty inside a little.e

but he's just one person. he can't be where you are and play for the people you will play to. So there are some joys out there in the universe, and some people that will receive the pleasure of appreciating them, reserved for you to provide. Jacob won't and could never substitute you when you are playing for your friends and family. That's your mission only. If you don't do it, no one else will. So, be inspired by his talent, but use it to maximize yours and go out there share your love for others with your music!

Comparison is the thief of all joy! I’m in the same boat my friend, started classical piano at 6, picked up trumpet which I’m now pursuing a performance degree in, and it’s important not to based your worth on how you compare to others, but rather on the joy it brings you personally and the lives you touch with your gift. God bless, don’t doubt yourself! (Trust me I’ve been there)

He's a musician with unheard of natural talent. There hasn't been a more naturally talented musician in likely a few hundred years. Now all that talent doesn't mean anything if there's no life experience or heart to go with it. You can't sell music if you can't connect with people, but as far as raw talent goes Jacob beats everyone else on Earth right now.

He's got a few good songs. Nothing like really good personally speaking. A lot of his music is really "showy" and challenging to listen to, and I'm pretty sure that's on purpose. Despite his auspicious child vibes he, as far as my understanding, he is a London bro, with training in Jazz and some other things, basically his mother payed for a lot of lessons for him (I'd guess, can't be confirmed)
@godowskygodowsky1155

@@cartoonhanks1708 His later songs are hit or miss for me, but I really enjoy some of his earlier choral or jazz piano works, which are much less showy, as well as some of his more raw electronic stuff. Also, I don't think he was classically trained, and even if he was, that doesn't detract from how gifted he is.
