I too collect every Wuthering Heights editions I can find! Dracula,Frankenstein, Sense and Sensibility and The Scarlet Letter are the other classics I own multiple editions of..

I love buying classics used. There's something about the history in it. I just found a copy of The Picture of Dorian Gray finally! ☕️

It is technically probably not a classic, but my favorite classic on my shelf is one I inherited from my grandma. We lost her a few months ago to Parkinson’s. I was devastated. My dad asked if I wanted anything from her house to remember her by, and I knew immediately I wanted this book. It is titled, ‘Outline of Great Books’ by Wise& co. It isn’t a story. I believe it is a nonfiction book on a study of the world’s greatest books, but the cover is so beautiful. The cover is textured with raised decorative patterns of trees, bound books, and a desk. It was published in 1936, and the nearly 1300 yellowed, vanilla-scented pages show its age. I used to run my fingers down the spine when we’d visit her house. This book lived with her for 70+ years, and has existed for nearly 100 years. I will always see my grandma when I see that book. It sits on my shelf with my other favorite classics like Emma and Pride and Prejudice. Edited to say: if this posts twice, the first one told me there was an error,so I commented again. Sorry if anyone can see it twice.

Hi Lexi! The penguin collection that is "leather" are actually called the Penguin Leatherbound Classics Collection. I have them all except one (Withering Heights!) and they actually aren't just gothic books. A Christmas Carol, The Jungle Books, Great Expectations and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland are also part of the collection 😍

I just started the Count of Monte Cristo this month and I'm loving it so far! It's very easy to follow and the characters stand out very nicely! I'm only about four chapters in but I'm very optimistic that I'm going to love this book!

My favorite classics are the Ranford Mystery Miler series. They were written awhile back and I’ve been trying to collect them but it’s hard because they are out of print and the newest versions are from back in like the 30s or 40s and they don’t come cheap! I also try getting them with the dust covers which isn’t always guaranteed. I once had to spend a mint plus shipping! But it’s worth it! They have sentimental value to my family and childhood memories. Currently only have 2 of the 4, but one doesn’t have the dust cover and I think I might try to order it again. Anyway! That’s my story!

☕️ I highly recommend you prioritize War and Peace! I LOVED this book SO MUCH! Tip from someone who had a hard time with it in the beginning, Amazon has a 6 part series that is AMAZING! I watched the first part and then read the book and then continued watching alongside reading it. The names are a bit confusing, so this helped me. It really is an incredible story and the sense of accomplishment you will feel having read it is amazing too!

Love your collection! I have been collecting classics in Dutch from readers digest. I had 80ish books from that series but I had to sell pretty much ll of them due to a lack of space. Once I move into a bigger home I want to start collecting them again.

The Dracula edition by Edward Gorey is penned by the guy who created the original Addams family cartoon and show.

🍵 The Great Gatsby is by far my favorite classic! When I am down my best friend/roommate always puts the movie on because we both love it and he knows it puts me in a good mood despite the bitter ending.

My absolute favorite classics are Jane Eyre and The Secret Garden, but I have a feeling the Count of Monte Cristo is soon joining them! Also, this video came just in time! I've been so burned out for most of the year so far and I was on the brink of tears when I sat down to try to recharge before another hectic day tomorrow and this was at the top of the page 😭 also I'm reading more classics this year so it's nice to see all the pretty editions you have!

I realy like to buy classics from The Folio Society. They are so beautyful, always illustrated and so comfy to read from. A bit pricy though. I also realy like the everymans library editions. They are so good to read from, and I love how they look in my bookcase when I take the dustjackets off🙈. I am currently reading Jamaica Inn by D.D.M in the same yellow edition that you showed. It looks and sounds so sunny, but it’s gothic all right. I am realy enjoying it so far😊.

For me I don’t have a specific edition I go for when it comes to classics I just go for the pretty covers. I do however have certain classic books I own different editions to. I collect Little Women and Anne of Green Gables and Pride and Prejudice and Wizard of Oz and Alice in Wonderland. I did for while pick up the Barnes and Nobels editions that they sell for a bit. ☕️

Great collection:) The Penguin Leather ones are Penguin Faux-Leather editions. They aren't just gothic books as they also include Pride and Prejudice and Sherlock Holmes, etc.

Jane Eyre is what I am currently reading and loving. As first in history Bildungsroman about strong women character with intellect, not constrained only to women beauty. Written in 1847 this is masterpiece

I just purchased the Penquin Classics editions of WH and JE. I just recently read JE and I loved it. Kinda scared to read WH 😂 ☕☕☕☕☕

Loved loved loved The Tenant, Anne Bronte became my favorite of the sister halfway through the book, I still can’t believe such a badass feminist existed at that time, I’m in eternal awe

☕ I adore the vintage classics and want to get as many as possible (I only own the Jane Austen books so far and I can't decide if I want to purchase the Russians or the Virginia Woolf books next). If there isn't a vintage edition, I look for a deluxe edition. I must be a sucker for the French flap. Other than that, my husband and I just have penguin classics or the versions that we bought at university book stores...you know? I love an aesthetically pleasing cover for a classic...it just helps when it doesn't make you feel like you're a high school student being forced to read it 😅

☕️ I have intentions to read more classics but have had a difficult time staying engaged with them. I read and listened to Dracula last fall. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it. I tried Master and Margarita this year and had a terrible time. I tried multiple translations and format but class not able to stick with it.
