It's nice to know that im not the only one who hacks it up from time to time. 3 Putts are my nemesis and its good to see Erik and I prove once and for all, Misery Loves Company.

Only four hours away is the most golf thing I’ve ever heard. And I love it.

Holy shit, my 7 year old son and I had so much fun watching this. Way more entertaining than watching a normal tournament. Thanks! Just booked Bandon for 4 nights in June 2022 and will be playing Old Macdonald (which is why we're watching), Sheep Ranch, Pacific, and Bandon over 3 days. Haven't played there since I was in high school in 1999!

Love these videos, they must take a long time to edit/ make and I respect the effort you put into it. Also you should try playing tigers high school course called dad miller. It's near the santa Anita gc. It would be cool to see that video.

love these vlogs - as a very average golfer, its weirdly encouraging to see you occasionally meltdown and one of the best ways to really get a good look at a course before playing it is by watching someone you like play it on youtube.

Our boys trip to Bandon in April got cancelled due to the pandemic, so I'm living vicariously through these course vlogs. Really appreciate that EAL tried to make the experience feel as authentic as possible for me - that quintuple bogey was a mirror image of my blow-up holes.

Honestly I love that fact you do the talk over and the shot tracer and we can just watch you play golf and enjoy the beauty of the course great work keep it up

The only thing missing Eric is the rain and wind, interspersed with a bit of sun to complete the authentic Scottish feel. They say if you can play links you can play anywhere.. Well, I for one dismiss that notion. I’ve been playing links for last 40 years and I’m still shite on every other course. Hahaha.

I don't want to watch another course vlog!! Yours are more real. Sometimes great shots, sometimes average shots. It works for me. Makes me feel normal.

I told myself i was taking a break from golf after i shot 61 on 9 holes yesterday. (usually shoot mid low 40s with occasional dips into the high 30s.) after watching this I'm heading back out.

man do i feel u on those 3 putts.... when u play a bunch of different courses its hard to get the putting dialed in. especially when u go from fast green to slow greens. almost impossible to not leave most putts short. great video per usual!

Old Mac was my first round at Bandon. Had a great start with a 4 putt on #1. Figured out the greens after that and loved the course.

When the vlog started I wondered.. hmm it sounds like Erik is bummed.. LOL we all care so much about our score. I am speaking for myself here but.. +11 on the front 9 is more relatable to your audience than you probably realize!

Great video man! I hope you get some time to work on that short game! One of the most rewarding parts of golf for me. My high school coach used to force the team to compete from 100 yards in every practice. He'd have two of us pair up and play a hole stroke play style while the rest of the team watched, first to 3 wins. It was a great way to work on the short game and shave strokes during real matches - you can find yourself in some creative situations and build tons of feel around the greens. You're a way better golfer than I am or will be but maybe keeping it simple might help!

Love the course vlogs, the aesthetics are always so pleasing. Please do a tracer tutorial! I’m dying to give it a try!

I do watch a lot of Peter Finch but tbh I enjoy your videos more. There’s something about watching a really good golfer make a 9 and at least appear to shrug it off and move on. Much love for Finch but he’s made three videos so far about the 11 he made a few weeks ago lol

first off - love the vlog! Didn't look like you got much help from your caddie.

Old Mac wasn't kind to me too. Random AM showers and erratic wind made it difficult to get into a rhythm. However, Bandon Trails was afternoon redemption with a gentle breeze and full sun.

You should post where your next tee time in the description section when you upload the videos, so people can try and pair up with you :D

I don’t understand how to stay committed. Golf sober is a mental battle. After those fall apart holes we light a joint and open a beer, it’s the Canadian rules to playing bad golf

You have never hit that 58 degree wedge well. I, too, have been afflicted with the self-destructive urge to try and "make" an ill-fitted club work. If it won't, it won't. It's not me. It is the club. Throw it out. Some kid or caddie will love to have it.

Fwiw I played this course the same weekend - Old Mac was running WAY slower than Pac, Trails and Bandon Dunes - I feel these 3 putts. Shot 93.

The old saying of never leave a birdie putt short is very applicable on these greens jeezus

Hey Erik, there is a course that you should look into it’s called millsite golf club. It’s in emery county Utah in the middle of the nowhere. It’s got great views and is really fun.

Lol, Peter might be better than you brother, but you're about the same skill level as me, and I love watching a comparable player to myself on the links! If your ventures should ever bring you out to Colorado, and you felt like doing some collaborative vlogs with a far less popular KZreadr, myself, I'd love to tee it up with you man!

Love your vlogs, great stuff. Which app are you using to trace your shots?

Tom Doak has said in interviews that he thinks excess photos and press of his courses -esp when they first launch - can ruin some of the surprise of the course. I love your content, and will always keep watching because you travel to destinations that I’ll never see. But do you ever worry about giving away too much? Being number 12 on Golf Digest makes this course a known entity, but what about the more unknown ones? Anthony Bourdain had said that there were amazing restaurants that he loved, but he didn’t want to feature on No Reservations for fear the influx of Americans would ruin the character of the place and there should be some gems that folks have to find on their own. Are there courses you’ve visited, but chose not to film, for this, or similar reason? Love what you do! Curious how you tackle some of these ethical questions.

I’m gonna take a wild guess and say you’ve never played at Bandon. It’s heaven on earth. And a 15 minute vlog doesn’t do it justice or five away too much. It’s the howling winds and the roar of the pacific and laughing off a 4 putt that make it what it is.
