Every Roman/Greek Collectible Minifigure
Ойын-сауық
Sadly LEGO has never given us a Roman or Greek LEGO theme, but we have gotten many LEGO CMFS for both these groups. So whether you are trying to build your own lego Roman theme, making Roman Mocs, or are a fan of Percy Jackson this list is prefect for you! It covers all Greek and Roman Mythology and historical figures and figures for your Romans to fight such as Egyptians and Barbarians.

A bit of trivia: The word ‘barbarian’ was onomatopoeic for the Ancient Greeks. To their ears, languages other than Greek sounded like ‘bar, bar, bar, bar, bar…’, hence people who spoke that way were barbarians. It’s also the etymology of the name Barbara which means stranger or foreigner.

I'm fairly certain that the male and female barbarian minifigs were meant to be homages to Conan and Red Sonya, respectively.
Everybody knowd how they built the pyramids: a Lego man looks at the camera, yells "Hey!", and giant arms come down and build it for them.

I will be a spoilsort a little bit here. Romans who fought with Carthaginians and the ones fought with Barbarians were completely different Romans. They were divide by couple hundreds years ;) Similar with Egyptians. Egyptians, which most people think about never thought with Romans or Carthaginians it was only after Alexander they fought with both. So more like Greeks than Egyptians with pyramids
When the Romans encountered Egypt, it was under the Hellenistic rule of the Ptolemaic dynasty, established by one of Alexander the Great's generals. The figures you mentioned for Egypt are from the Bronze Age, except for Cleopatra, who was of Greek/Macedonian descent. The transition from Hellenistic to Roman rule was relatively peaceful, aside from some revolts and the civil war of the Second Triumvirate. That being said, great video!
Fun Fact: Flying Warriors connection to Battle Goddess might be a reference to the anime series “Saint Seiya: knights of the zodiac” where warriors with magic powers and armor named after Greek epics and constellations known as Saints work for the reincarnation of Athena, Flying Warrior closely resembles a Golden Saint: The twelve highest ranking Saint’s with golden armor themed around the Greek Zodiac.

This is seriously such a good video. You did an awesome job identifying all the minifigures that tie in with Rome. I was hoping someone would make a video like this at some point. I especially loved that you pointed out which type of gladiator was most resembled by the minifigs. Interestingly enough, the murmillo would have been armed with a rectangular shield (“scutum”), much like that of the Roman legionnaire, while a very similar gladiator known as the “hoplomachus” would fight with a circular shield, but had the exact same armor and sword as a murmillo. I had thought the lego minifig was a murmillo for awhile because of the fish-like helmet, but apparently that little shield detail changes things. Also, the “barbarian” with two swords very much resembles the “dimachaerus” gladiator, and I have since deemed it as such for the purposes of adorning my colosseum set 😅 I also found that a pearl silver trident from the aquaman sets goes great with the retiarius, rather than the gold one he comes with. Anyway, I’m just excited that someone else pointed out the specifics of all these minifigures! Love the channel so much.
2:22 What you describe is a Scandinavian mermaid, the Greek mermaid are birds with the head of a woman 5:33 Gladiators were not fighting to the death, they were more like modern MMA fighters 10:27 Actually, we know how Egyptians used to build pyramids unlike what History Channel and other alien fans want you to believe
@BrickingUpBrad

That ending was a joke about Lego alien conquest and making fun of that conspiracy theory… do you really think I believe that?
This is definitely your best video yet! I went on my own crusade trying to research where the warrior woman was from, a long time ago when I got the figure, and couldn’t find any concrete info, but was lead to believe she reflects the appearance of an Amazonian female warrior.

I've always been under the impression she was LEGO's expy of Xena from the TV show. The black hair, the brown and bronze leather armor, the warrior aesthetic. I never considered she might be an Amazon. So thank you for expanding her usefulness to me; I originally only got her so my Spartan CMF had someone to duel with lol

Can you make a video on how to make ancient Greek history buildings?
I've got the Roman Gladiator minifigure and the Barbarian minifigure. I want to get the Series 25 Barbarian Woman minifigure. Marsha the Mermaid looks like Emilia Clarke.
Poseidon and Neptune are the same mythical god just two different names for two different languages. also gladiators did not fight animals, it was skilled hunters that would battle animals.
The barbarian and the fierce barbarian look like Conan and red Sonya
Loved the ending 😂 that LEGO Magazine comic has a lot of real estate in my head and sad there was never a real follow up to it. Feel like we are long overdue for Greek/Roman theme that brough the myths to life (sorta like the Vikings theme and its many mythical monster).
