Every Novelty Camera I Could Find Online
Ғылым және технология
In this video I give an overview of every novelty camera I could find online, categorized to optimize your viewing experience. I talk about toy cameras, multi-image cameras, panoramic cameras, digital cameras, and finally, premodern novelty cameras. This is not an exhaustive/ comprehensive list of every camera, but I think I included at least one camera from each genre/ effect category in this video.

omg so jealous!! I hope you got a good price for it!
I have a bunch of toy cameras I’ve picked up on the cheap at thrift stores. I affectionally refer to them as my “Plastic Craptastic” collection. One of my favorites besides the Holga is the Lomography Sprocket Rocket. It exposes a panoramic double wide 35mm frame that covers the entire height of the film including the sprocket holes area.

That sounds so cool! I really want to try one of the panoramic lomography cameras after looking at all the beautiful example photos people have taken with them, especially city shots that show off the beautiful architecture and crowds!
I know a guy who did a ton of old school photos of silver mines which are closing. Russ Kwan. Not sure what he is up to these days. He is a very cool guy if you get the chance to meet him you will be entranced. Very interesting guy.

Photographing silver mines on film is an interesting concept, especially if it is silver halide film. I really like that kind of double-layered art, you know?
I think the line between novelty and specialist camera got kinda blurred in this video but a really cool roundup nonetheless

hahaha I agree, I got a bit carried away towards the end there.. thanks for watching!
That coca cola camera looks sooo fun haha I never knew those existed. Oh, and if you can take a good picture on that pokemon camera you're definitely a great photographer 😅

hahaha ikr, I just love how many versions of the cola can there are. But ok, hear me out, the pokemon camera COULD be really cool if you were shooting like, a gen-z nostalgia aesthetic fashion brand in bright sunlight with white walls and blue skies....I can see it in my mind's eye....

@@YvonneHansonPhotography Yess! There are so many different versions, I kinda wanna try one. Now that's a good idea! I can see it working too, with a brand like adidas with its pokemon collection, it could have some strong retro vibes. Your mind's eye has some pretty cool ideas 😅 so happy I found your channel!

I’ve been looking for that specific Pokémon camera for a few months now - I had no idea that it added the border!! I can now see why it’s selling for a bit more than some other toy cameras (as well as the massive Pokémon hype at the moment). I now need this camera wayyy more than I thought

I sadly haven't gotten one of those giant massive olde tyme cameras that you use to take pictures of entire trains. They very rarely come up on ebay for some odd reason. But I myself own the Holga ( I did a video on it) the Diana ( I did a video on it) the fisheye ( I did a video where I double exposed rescale film with that one and the Octomat) the Lomography Spinner which I haven't done a video on yet. Maybe at some point. And then I'll continue my search for the giant train camera.

yoooo I love the idea of doing double exposure with two different cameras. I'll check out your video about it! That sounds like it could have some really cool results.

Thank you :D and thanks for watching!
Since coming back to film a few years ago and trying a lot of film (no liking all of them), I did fall for the craziness of the toy camera and all those new style camera, not even trying one roll in a loaner. At the price film are, I think it's a sin to put film into those unless you are looking for a special look for a special project

hahaha, I like the experimental aspect of it! Its like a challenge- you have all these weird constraints that you have to be creative within. I love that kind of creative challenge!
Have thought about playing around with a Holga, but I'm not sure where I can get the film done locally.
Amazing work as always!!

i'm here to update that i got the frosted flake one for free at my work, i work in a photo lab and someone brought one and no longer wanted the camera
it's crazy that the Dori 2 16 has a removable magazine... what's the point of giving a fake gun camera a removable magazine?
I'm surprised you do not have the GB Camera. they go for like 9 euro. I got a red one from when I was 10, got it for 5 gulden second hand. Its pointless without the printer tbh
I would wife yvonne up shes is quirky and cool.
