Showdown+ was such a simple, yet such a great concept in my opinion. It was kind of a solution for the ongoing teaming problem and made matches more intense. My current problem with regular solo showdown is that it often doesn't matter how good you are since there'll always be a camper or a teamer killing you. You can kill 5 players in a lobby and still get 5th place without gaining any trophies, even though you really deserve them, which is something Showdown+ fixed since you're actually being rewarded for playing well.

Yep, Brawl Stars misses a mechanic which keeps record of your gameplay during a match and rewards you for it. For example, you get into overtime in Brawl Ball and it's 1-1. If the enemy scores a goal, you still loose the same amount of trophies as if your team got rekt in 30 seconds. Same for Gem Grab (you had all 10 gems multiple times, and if the enemy then wins you still loose the full amount). This makes long games very frustrating where everyone gave it their all and yet receive the full loss without any compensation

Yeah the common scenario is you loose the first 3v3 then your teamate rush in without waiting you they die then you die with your other teamate so you never really have the mid control, that's if you survived the first bot because usually the randoms doesn't defend

As a fan of volleybrawl I must say that you indeed can decide where the ball will land, which is very helpful when playing with a team, but none of my randoms knew this mechanic so I had to be on defence. The concept of Volleybrawl is great, but the meta in it is very boring, based only on pushing people. I hope Supercell will find a way to improve it, but they will probably leave it as it is like most other gamemodes

Same! As a Mortis main, it was a lovely mode where you can swap between cool offensive plays and being a defensive monster. Sadly, so much was changed, and I wasn't able to top rank 30... I was close though :)) (982 trophies #21 USA #998 World)

am I the only one who thinks that showdown sucks? like seriusly if you play in 700-0 cup brawlers is fun but when you get to 700+ cups everybody is teaming and the only way of winning is by teaming like a rat or getting like 3 kills in the beggining and a good spawn location and thats if you are using a meta brawler if you like playing low tier brawlers its imposible to consistently win for a casual player and the worst part is that the solution for it is so easy just ban the people that team in showdown THATS LITERRALY IT is a Battle Royale (kinda) and its the only battle royale in the world that teaming is meta like WTF it has no sense at all and yes I know that the 1% top players can win every game in showdown but it doesnt make sense that I need to play 4000+ hours a game to be good at its principal gamemode like I dont live of doing brawl stars content and I want to know why do a LOT of people like showdown because at least for me its imposible to enjoy a pure luck based gamemode and I say luck because like I said to win consistently you need to be very VERY good at the game (if you are playing 700+ cups)

@@alejandromikoss855 Please use points to distinguish multiple sentences, comments like these can be unnecessarily hard to read.. xD Banning teamers is not as simple as it sounds because no one would have the time to spectate enough matches and to manually ban players. If you wanted to automate it, you could say "Then let the game ban people who spin", but that would only be a very short term solution.. people will find different methods to signal teaming, hence it will probably stay with Brawl Stars forever

Volleybrawl had so much of a different meta that it could be a separate game. The strategies were very different from all the other gamemodes. Each brawler had their own unique role. Each brawler had a part of the map that they were strongest in which made a new category based on position(offense, mid, back). Brawlers like Spike and Colt that could deal enough damage fast enough to defend consistently and deal good damage to enemies further away were best in the front of their side(mid). Melee and faster brawlers can cause chaos if the enemies do not have a strong enough mid or back brawler. Brawlers the either were fast enough to jump between positions and still get the ball such as Max or brawlers that had enough range to defend and attack such as Tick or Brock were best in the back where they could stay safe and still be a threat. You could find a good use for every brawler in the game. The only downside about it is that there was a lot of cheese but it could be prevented with strong defense. I never felt like I was not helping my team or that my team was not helping me. The matches would get intense and it always felt like something was happening. Team coordination was intuitive and easy to learn. Also, you could influence the direction of the ball based on where you hit it. Scoring points felt great but it also never was very frustrating when you lost; especially compared to other gamemodes. Out of all the modes this was the one I want permanent the most. I would even be fine if this was the only mode in the game.

solo showdown is SOOOOOO overrated. like it's kinda fun at low trophies, but after hitting 600 the teaming becomes absurd - it goes from strategical teaming against buffed brawlers into just 9 franks and primos spinning in the middle of the map, this is so stupid...

Two things I got to say, 1. I will always like siege before the time change, it feels less chaotic that way and 2. Duels is so good I love the 1v1 but I feel the cup distribution is the only things holding it down, it fills clunky to me

Showdown used to be the best for pushing brawlers but teaming has been going on for years and i wish they'd fix it, if not then remove the mode and add a new one that gives the same amount of trophies, thanks Kairos for uploading again and I'm really happy you're moved into your new house 🌸

I absolutely love Showdown plus Personally i would have putted it on S tier - makes the game less grindy you can get like 10-20 trophies per matches - makes people that teams more less - wasn't really filled with only one brawler that is like in one showdown ( where you see the whole lobby filled with 9 max and you are just el primo ) for me atleast

I personally love game modes that only give you one life so every move you make matters. So showdown knockout and duels are my go to.

In high enough trophies (800 at least) teaming isn’t just for the purpose of having an advantage, it’s just for not engaging in unnecessary fights that would lead you to die by a third. It’s like a peace treaty between two countries, but of course with enough pressure, the bonds will break thanks to the gas. The strategy is to pick on people either early or late in the game to prevent there being way too much in the endgame

I really have this concept to revamp Present Plunder/ Trophy Thieves just because I really love that game mode and it's has a good potential although with some new Brawlers added to the game, it can be go off. That's why I'm trying to think of a way to counter those problems. Other thing is, Wipeout is my favorite Bounty game mode for the reason you can turn the table without having the star mechanic which is I hate in the normal bounty. Volleybrawl is another one I like although the ability to block where the ball will go broken. They need to find a way to counter it. Lastly, I think they should change Payload entirely, similar to how they remake Hot Zone. Maybe a different mechanic would be better than what they gave to us.

My favorite mode was showdown plus It was so much fun I miss it :(

FYI It is very simple to get Insane 16 in Boss Fight as long as you follow a guide and use the right team composition (currently best is Edgar, 8-BIT, Belle but Belle/8-BIT can be swapped out for Lou as well). OJ has made several such guides so definitely check those out. The only real cost here is getting these brawlers to minimum Power Level 9 with Star Powers so if you’re willing to do that and give Boss Fight a shot, you can definitely get to the higher Insane Levels (Insane 11/ Insane 12).

I'm a solos main and, when showdown+ came out, it was like heaven!! No teaming, more trophies for a kill and, you didn't even need to just be agro brawlers IMO, if you could just survive to top 3-4 you'd still gain a lot of trophies. I only played that when it came out and completely disregarded normal showdown. I was soooo disappointed and surprised when it got taken away BC I absolutely loved it!!!

I miss the old versions of the weekend events, especially robo rumble, I dislike the time limit and prefer the last as long as you can vs a swarm. Like zombies in COD

In my opinion bot drop is the worst for me. If your enemies have 5/8 bolts and you have 7/8 bolts, they always grab those 3 and win the game, especially its so annoying because if you shoot the bot, it will go straight to you but then if enemy shoots it, it goes to him and its confusing when and where bot will go and if your teammates go to other bot, its game over, you lose. Also most of the people think that bot drop was here only because of replacing siege, it was so boring I would only play it for quest..

Its a tiebreaker mechanic, just like in any other gamemode like bb. Since you know the final bot is going to be important, save your supers and prepare for the final fight.

I DO agree that takedown shoudn't be for trophies, but I actually quite enjoyed playing it! I would be happyif it was still possible to play, but only in the friendly battles, I would love that

I liked knockout when before it was in the permanent rotation were round were faster or at least felt like it. I don’t like having to just wait till all the smoke comes in and then everyone just spams with no skill. I way preferred getting little chip shot dealing that tiny bit of damage to force the opposing team to be more aggressive because of the damage bar with the 1 minute rounds. I don’t know if other people feel this way but when knock out was in the temporary game modes that was my go to game mode but know I will only play it if a brawler is good on that map or I have a quest for it. Seidge was and still is by far my favourite game mode ever and i really miss it. But when they made the maps change every 2 hours(or how map rotation was before seidge was taken out) I felt I was just never online when seidge was in rotation. I would of definitely played it a lot if I could of. And I would much of preferred seidge then knockout in power League and the competitive scene as I felt teams had to really think about positioning to get bolt, to defend to bot or kill position brawlers coming in behind the bot, support the bot or hold the mid. Compare this to knockout which is don’t die and get one kill.

They should bring siege back and take KO out of the game, or at least out of competitive. It should not be in power league or club league rotations, not at all

Anytime Big Game is the weekend mode, I dedicate my entire time playing Brawl Stars to that. The complete shift in the meta and strategies as the hunter or boss for the mode is what I love about it. Skill is put to the actual test in a 1v5 situation, no trophies are taxed for bad teammates, and its fun to absolutely dominate as the boss or as a group of hunters. Best gamemode in my heart.

The boss is ridicilously powerful, and some brawlers literally break the game mode like surge, being the boss is super fun but being a hunter is totally boring and frustrating. Walking all the way to the boss and instantly getting wiped out by the boss is not fun for sure.

@@daddytreachyy It’s important to prioritizing staying alive as a hunter and just annoying the boss until there’s a crucial moment where the boss is distracted, slowed, etc. if you just want to stay alive as long as possible play long range brawlers or throwers and attack the boss at max range. Do not be the closest to the boss as that will make them go after you.

@@Aver187 i know pretty much everything you said, if you play throwers or long range brawlers, you will get annihilated if you are selected as the boss, and some maps are very bushy that you are forced to pick something mid range or close range, those brawlers are easy targets for the boss. Even if you play long range brawlers as hunters in non bushy maps, some brawlers as bosses are just so strong that they are undefeatable. Surge, tara, mortis are just a few examples. Its an unbalanced game mode and boring in every way if you are not the boss, and being selected as a boss is totally luck based.

I had an idea for a new mode (It might be offtopic but it’s in a gamemode video so why not) It would be similar to hot zone, but it would be on a 45x45 map (Showdown maps are 60x60 and they did end up making some 45x45 maps for lone star and takedown) but there would be 4 teams of 3. There would also be 8-12 zones scattered around the map, the game would last 2 minutes and the goal is to go around and claim the zones. I’m pretty sure most people will know what I mean but I will still say it anyways: The zones would start out neutral, and if a person is standing in the zone it would take about 5 seconds for the team to capture it, but if an enemy comes to capture a zone that has already been taken. They would have to wait 5 seconds to make the zone neutral and then another 5 seconds for the zone to become theirs. The game would end if your team get all zones which would be super hard but possible, but after the 2 minutes whatever team has the most zones if there is a tie, the team to get their last zone captured before the enemies would win Also it would be cool if it would fit into an update theme so for example, if there was a futuristic update there could be computers that you would need to hack, or for a medieval theme their could be castles you would need to conquer

Knockout is one of my favourites as it is so fun and satisfying to defeat 3 people. Recently I played Fang and defeated the whole team when my teamates were gone in knockout. For gemgrab its so good. You can make comebacks and sometimes really competetive to get the gems.

I agree one time i played with Carl and took down the enemy team got on low health healed and then took down the final enemy which was 8-bit

I loved volleybrawl and you can definitely decide where the ball lands if you know what to do. I hope it returns. I also loved Showdown + so in sad people didn’t play it. Love Duels and Basketbrawl too. Hope they become permanent soon.

I would put wipeout in S tier, I had the most fun in this gamemode. Also it is easier compared to other modes like gem grab or hot zone to cover your teammates mistakes since it is mostly kill oriented, no objective like having 10 gems

I agree almost with everything you say Kairos, the only thing I'm dissapointed to see is that the weekend gamemodes don't get a lot of attention. TBH I love the weekend modes and it's really fun.

I agree with Brawl Ball and Basket Brawl. Those two game modes are my favs and so much fun.

I actually thought about this a long while back so this is my ranking order (doesn't include everything) Brawl Ball >> Heist > Gem Grab > Duels >> Hot Zone > Bot Drop = BasketBrawl > Takedown > Knockout > Siege > Bounty >> Wipeout = Payload > Duo Showdown > Hunters >> Lone Star >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Solo Showdown

honestly I don't play sd often enough nor at a high enough trophy range to see teaming that often. I just hate how passive and slow it is compared to basically every 3v3 mode

Nowadays both SD modes may end up feeling very but very rng based and unfair,I would put them as high as u did based on how easy it is for anyone to “”pick up” the mode while having fun and win almost always.(Also their metas are not as fresh and unique as they used to be,even at higher trophies and that also forces u kinda to use meta brawlers.Not as free to use anyone at any map anymore).If supercell could make the GS (graveyard shift) a perma SD modifier that would help the teaming/ spinning and camping issue plus make the modes less of rng based(although the player/box spawns will still need a fix) ,besides gs was never a hard to understand concept.Overall these modes could have been way better but they don’t really want them to change them as I can see from all those years.Good and accurate list nonetheless 😊

Bot drop has some potential to be good if it wasn’t forced for a quest

In my experience, Hunters is kinda underrated, gameplay feels like lone star and Bot drop is Siege but way easier also u made history by making this video congratulations

15:30 a decent player can actually still beat insane 16 quite easily if you use Edgar, Belle, and Ruffs. Belle just needs to charge a single super and use it on the big bot and she's done. Ruffs just needs to give Edgar his buff and then he's done too. Edgar gets the more challenging (but very fun) role of going 1v1 against the boss and beefing himself up with so many power cubes that he can tank hits without dying and he can steal enough health to sustain himself while doing so. Whenever you get low, jump on some nearby small bots to quickly regain your health. You just need to be careful not to die to the higher tier bot abilities.

Honestly, I would put modern Showdown in the F-tier. There's teaming everywhere at the higher throphy ends and it's spreading even in the lower ends. I've seen teamers at 300 throphies, that's insane! Not to mention the Showdown meta is super exclusive and brawlers that are strong in it never get buffed for 3v3 because they would be invincible there. Showdown+ is fine in the B-tier though, such a good improvement.

What would be fun is if they brought back takedown but made it a team vs team. So there would be dps to deal damage to the bot and assassins to kill the enemy team and there would a spot for like every type of brawler. Maybe it could be like a 3v3 or 5v5.

This is a good ass idea this video is about to kick ass… Also such a damn nostalgia trip!!! I forgot takedown existed!!!

14:32 for me, that was so much better than normal solo showdown, but many players only stay in bushes, so they didn't like it.

the problem for duels for me is that you get trophys for 3 different brawlers i dont really like it because it makes pushing a brawler less satisfying and not really that fun

This is a truly great video, we've been missing you, Kairos! I like VolleyBrawl better than you ranked it, and like Wipeout and especially Showdown + rather a lot. On the other side, I hate Bot Drop and BasketBrawl, the latter probably because I can't score to save my life. Duels... I don't know, they don't feel quite right. The mode I play the most by far is Showdown. I love it, but teamers really ruin it: I've considered quitting the game altogether just for that reason. Camping in bushes is ok, Teaming is against the rules and the very concept of the game. I really hope they find a solution to teaming.

I feel like the A tier should've been S, exept for basket brawl. Solo and duo showdown is ruined by campers and teamers, duels had some weird map that doesn't allow much cover, making the mega pretty restricted. You get paired with a mortis 2 matches out of 3 in brawl Ball, he sucks so much in this game mode and you see him so often that it makes an inconcustent game mode for trophy pushing. Gem grab is solid, depend on your preferences

I agree to an extent but I think brawl ball and duels are S tier and honestly I think showdown should be B tier because it is really good at low trophies but over 700 it is only teaming

For Payload being a C tier game mode,I think judging it like that is kinda biased since when do you even see tanks being meta? I disagree about changing it since it's rare for throwers and tanks to be meta in maps. Now I know this comment is biased as well, but as supercell tries to make balance maps, aren't the long range brawlers and the mid range brawlers always meta? It's kinda boring already. That's one of the reasons why brawl stars is less viewed than other supercell games (except for maybe boom beach lol, but boom beach frontlines is something else).

I love duels for the same reasons but 1. It can get the "win 8/5 battles with _____" done fast, which helps a lot when grinding the brawl pass.

There was ton of control over the ball in volley brawl. It took me a lot of matches to figure out but I thought it was more common knowledge. The circle the ball lands In is like a map of the enemy side, but flipped. So the left of the circle would go to the rig side of the enemy’s side. The top side of the circle would go towards the midline of the map while the bottom of the circle would go towards the enemy boundary wall. So if I stood in the low left side of the circle when the ball hits me, the ball would go to the right and towards the top of the map. If I stand in the center when the ball hits, it will go to the center of the enemy side.

Am I the only one who enjoyed takedown? It wasn't my favorite but I still liked it. Wierd...

I actually hated duels. I often had matches where I would be using power 7-9 and I'd be going against a full team of power 11, and duels just often ended up being very frustrating

it's not game mode is bad you just playing with brawlers are low level you have club league now so upgrade is easier now + the matchmaking issue is not just in duels

Siege has always been my favorite game mode. I miss the early days of the longer games and higher stakes.

I remember clutching a win in knockout. My team mates died and the enemy team were still complete and my health was so low. Anyway I managed to pull off a victory and it has become my favorite ever since

What’s crazy is that robo boss was my favorite game mode of all time back in 2019. Mainly because I got to use Shelley’s overpowered super.

Improvement idea to Rob rumble: Supercell creates several exploits on purpose and players try to find as many as they can. For example: random brawler combos... Also aside from exploits, there could be Easter eggs

Not sure if it's just me, but volleybrawl was my favorite ever game mode. There actually was a strategy to moving the ball, and it was a very unique mode, unlike anything ever seen before in brawl stars.

Showdown is literally the only gamemode i play since the first day of beta; ive took many breaks but im currently at 20k trophies which isn’t crazy high but it’s soo so fun to try and push brawlers to 500 at level 1 (it’s a lot harder now that so many people have high powered brawlers in sd but more challenge more fun!)
