Even is women wood workers appreciate the tips!!
It always amazes me that these guys can afford table saws, band saws drill presses, routers, etc. (none of which I can afford) and yet they make stuff I can buy for under 20 bucks at Harbor Freight.

The process of making it yourself and the satisfaction of doing so is the issue here. I built a large shed in my back yard, not because I didn’t have the money to pay someone to do it, but because I wanted to get the self-satisfaction of doing it myself. Although I saved about $ 800 in labor costs, there is no price tag equal to the satisfaction of building it with my own hands.

@@goofe.washington953 I can understand a shed, build it like you want it, plus save on labor. But an angle gauge? Seriously?

Right? $10 worth of materials and 2 hours later they have a home made tool that works almost as well as the $20 commercial model. It makes no sense to me.

The last jig he built was a compass but I do like the one before it, it cut angles on long pieces of wood, it can't remember the name for it but you get my point

All very smart and practical ideas but absolutely no commitment to basic workshop safety. Look how close his fingers are to the drill bit and saw blade
Nice and fairly easy to make but extremely handy very nicely done!!!
That 2nd jig is brilliant. But at 7:42 I suggest never push with a separate push stick that way, It's dangerous, just let the jig's shoe do it's job for the forward motion. Better use the separate stick to push the stock sideways to ensure it is stays with the jig.
@DanKoning777

I hate to tell you this, but the tapering jig [#2], has been around for decades. It is a great tool to make/use but it's not new by any means. Norm Abram's PBS tv show ["The New Yankee Workshop"], showed how to make, and use them regularly in the 80's.
@MrKockabilly

@@DanKoning777 Granted the title might be bordering on being a click-baity but technically the author is not saying they were HIS original ideas or that they are NEW. Nos 1 and 2 are not new either. Nevertheless those are brilliant and useful ideas regardless of whoever first thought of them or whenever they were first made. For many beginner woodworkers, this video could be their first introduction to this old but brilliant ideas. I myself have a tapering jig for years - a long and cumbersome one I made sliding on the table saw track - and I've seen tapering jigs like the one on this video before, but this video kinda reintroduced this type to me, and made me have a second look. The only thing I've seen that is not "brilliant" here is the author's way of using the separate push stick. That's why I pointed that out as a warning to first-timers who would be inspired to make this type of tapering jig.

Hallo CraftMaster, was für ein Werkzeug baust Du da zuerst, bzw. für was braucht man das?
Great ideas for tools to make things but what about great ideas of things you have made with these tools?
Sinon super taf
I've seen number 1 alot. Number 2 would be useful for the modular workbench/table saw/router table I've been working on.

@masterofcrafts
@user-ff3kg1vq2q
@masterofcrafts
