everyone in the miltary drinking energy drinks like crazy. And one can still fall asleep. Eating spicy pepper seed helped. Kinda like sunflower seeds only keeps you awake.

He wasn’t being honest. He was making a joke about how popular energy drinks are in the military.

The deal with the Oakleys is that polarized lenses are not approved for flight. The reason being is that the canopy is polarized and you cannot see thru two polarized lenses at the same time. Wear a pair of polarized glasses and look at a Range Rover or Jaguar windscreen; you'll be seeing a "checkerboard effect"

You also cannot read glass cockpits with polarized lenses.

My aunt’s father was a C-130 Pilot for the Iraqi Air force and when he retired he left Iraq and left his Helmet with him and only today i got to finally wear it i love it.

What about Rex Kramer from Airplane?

I was surprised to hear him say the green finger lights helped preserve night vision. Red is typically used in cockpit at night for that because the rod cells which cover most of the retina and are about 3000x more sensitive than the RGB color sensing cone cells don’t react to red light but would to green. On the other hand because the rod cells are so sensitive to green it would take less light for the finger lights to be effective for illuminating what the hands are pointing at in the cockpit so perhaps that is why green is used.

I'm pretty sure they would be out of range for them, Unless they need to do a low alt fire mission but even then, these things are packed full of counters, flares for days and chaff as well if I'm correct.

AC-130s aren't the tip of the spear in an air campaign. You wait for other assets like Growlers, Stealth bombers, Himars, Tomahawks, fast movers, etc. to soften the air defenses of an adversary. Not that there aren't ways for AC-130s to prosecute targets before Air Supremacy, as there are. AC-130s had many missions in the opening days of OIF and Desert Storm.

Why the AC-130 crews fly in fatigues and not in flight suit as the others Air Force crews? Are their fatigues made in nomex like any other flame resistant flight suit?

we used the two piece flight suits in AMC now, and AFSOC has for awhile. They are nomex, so much more functional and you can take the top off during preflight/cargo loading ops. We can also wear the green flight suits as well still. Female flyers like them because they are more suited for their bodies and as one pilot told me they make it easier when sitting down to pee in the lav, as opposed to a flight suit

@@ImARealHumanPerson I was in the army, so trust me I know what’s classified and what’s not. But I don’t see videos on a Chinese pilots gear, how it works, and what he uses it for. I never even went to jungle school and now I know what it’s like because they just did 1 hour of it. Where is the Chinese jungle school video? I want to see how they work as an infantry platoon to exploit that as intel for when im in a war with them. Oh wait lol. They’ll be doing that to us. Classified or not, the world has no business seeing how we work. KZread isn’t exclusive to America. Whatever commanders are allowing press to show the inside of SFAS, RASP, Jungle School…are incompetent leaders. Don’t think we should really be showing much anymore given the heightened state of alert the military is under with China…who are very good at exploiting this stuff. Sorry you got con’d into that water front property you bought in Nevada. Look at a map next time.

I never did, if you try to egress the aircraft in an emergecy there is a chance they snag on the door. I have them in my pubs bag, they'll be found in the same place after a crash
