We (Ravens) realized we fucked up sp bad that Steve Bisciotti got involved. He basically stopped Odell from getting on a plane to the Jets to convince him to help them make right with Lamar. Eric DeCosta even came out and publicly acknowledged that they’d failed Lamar in the passing game and the way it was structured.

This is a fact I’m glad Lamar isn’t always putting his body on the line when he doesn’t have to. Greg Roman always used his running ability instead of his arm more. I know it got him an MVP but once he got to the playoffs everyone knew what was coming so they always had a spy for him. With the new offense it’s hard to guess what’s coming a pass run or play action.

I think no matter what there's been a lot of positive for the Ravens and Lamar. New OC (less Lamar runs though they can still utilize it obviously...less QB injury chance) drafting Zay Flowers (Lamar wanted him and it's worked out well) signing OBJ. A full season of Roquan and Queen being in a contract year. More surprised they didn't get talked about more but maybe that's just because I'm a biased Ravens fan!

Pitts was the biggest TE prospect in a decade and Bijan went 8 in a time where even the best RBs don’t go before picks 25-35. Lamar is the dual threat they need. If I remember right I think during the draft he was in that the Raiders had 2 opportunities to draft him. I was smh as everyone let him drop. Like did most of the GM’s just look at his college highlight reel and didn’t pay attention to his workouts and properly assess his ability to be an NFL quarterback? I said it then and it was that watch because Gruden is gonna pay for this one. What’s even more troubling is that Gruden was supposed to be a good judge of QB’s too. Anyways, I always love watching Lamar play. This year especially as he stands fearlessly in the pocket more and shows elite Quarterback abilities. Good for him

Youre wrong, Raiders only had one pick in the first round in 2018. The Raiders had Carr and at that time there was no reason to replace him. The assessments of him werent wrong because he did have an accuracy issue when compared to most of the other QB's drafted before him. Lamar is a beast. I like when everybody was saying he couldnt pass a couple seasons ago, so he stayed in the pocket and threw for almost 450 yds the next game.

I’m so glad this is being talked about now. The disrespect shown to Lamar since he came into the league is what made me a HUGE Lamar fan. The only people who’ve ever viewed him in the right light have been majority of Ravens fans. It started since the draft, when he was told he should try & be wide reciever. Which is a huge slap in the face to any black athlete at QB. Just cause at the time he may have been a better runner than passer doesn’t mean you should try and alter their career. Did he need some work as a passer? For sure, but he’s gotten better at it year after year & has turned into an all around QB who is number 1 or number 2 every year! It’s always been him or Mahomes since he came into the league when you talk about the total package! Even with the year Jalen Hurts had last year, he’s no Lamar Jackson & has a long way to go. If you really watch football it’s not even close watching them play. Doesn’t matter if he was “never leaving Baltimore” every team should been on there hands & knees trying to get him because players at the QB position as good as him don’t come along often & he automatically changes the trajectory of your team by having him.

I believe last year is the only time he’s ever missed real time due to injury, & everybody knows it wasn’t that bad he just wasn’t gonna play until he got paid. & no slack to Jalen, I think he’s good. Definitely needs a lot of work still, he benefits by having 2 number 1 receivers in AJ Brown & Devonta Smith. Which most teams don’t have, put Lamar on the Eagles or give him 2 number 1’s. They paid and the narrative moved to who hes going to lose now cuz of his contract. Herbert was the same way. Especially with Joey Bosa's contract as well. The issue with Lamar and his contract was because he chose to make it a drama. No agent. Pushing for more money guarantees. Once he got signed, nobody cared. People were fine with him staying on the ravens. The bigger qb contract controveries were DJones in NY. And Wilson over in Denver. And obvs, Watson in CLE but most ppl decided to just not look at him at all.

I was against them giving Joe Flacco all that money because team had great key players that helped us stay a playoff team from 08-14. We could no longer afford to keep those players that help us stay there. When we got Jackson, we no longer had anything to lose, which is why the team was BUILT AROUND HIM AND HIS STRENGTHS. Again the team was built for his run game. You pay talent to stay, especially when they are the game change for your team. Focus on your team. Lamar has had a top 10 defense every year(2nd this year) and he gets praised like he does all the work. Never seen such a mid QB, got overhyped to this level. Lamar is 15th in passing yards and 14th in TDs. Lamar had the number 1 scoring offense, top 5 defense, number 1 seed, and had 3TOs at home and got bounced from the playoffs by Ryan tannehill. Geno and baker aren’t improving. They just found the right team, coach and scheme.. things clicked! It’s a great way to award guys who had a good year but not good enough for MVP.

Did you not hear what JJ said? It's not about his stats because yes, he is under performing compared to his 2019 year, but if you actually watch him play, he has incredible value for his team. He is the best player on the Ravens and a HUGE reason they are 12-3. Since he isn't playing as well as 2019, he won't get a unanimous MVP, but he can still get regular

Josh Allen is the reason his team has the record they have in the first place. His terrible play in the beggining of the year. He just "won" a game with 97 passing yards. He himself said he didnt do anything that game. He just didnt lose the game, but he also wasnt the reason they won. Take Lamar off the Ravens, and they lose. Its been proven. Repeatedly. Josh Allen throws way too many picks. Go compare their career stats, and then check back. Notice how Josh is always runner up for MVP? Hes never been the best player in the league. Hes always "close". Lamar won a UNANIMOUS MVP. Only he and Tom Brady have ever done that.

@@silverytc1566 Lamar hand the ball to Gus edwards at the 1 yard line for tds. Lamar would have at least 9 more touchdowns if he just threw 1 yard passes. Or ran it in himself. He doesnt care about stats. Hes not a stat padder. Whats the Ravens record? 12-3 thats the point. Win the game. Not stat pad. Whats the Bills record? Asking for a friend. Josh can have 60 touchdowns, whats the point if you lose the damn game? Hes not the MVP.

Baltimore was probably gonna match, but all it would have took was 2 first rounders and a fully guaranteed contract. The wild part was the obvious smear campaign that somehow convinced people he wasn't even worth a second contract.

Instead of most improved name it breakout player of the year. Do 1 or do off/def separately. It’s a better way to phrase most improved and it eliminates confusion for guys who didn’t get injured and aren’t making a comeback for comeback player of the year. It would also give guys who aren’t rookies, quarterbacks or up for OPOY/DPOY an award to chase after. This year baker would be a great candidate since he isn’t coming back and isn’t improving.. he just happened to have a breakout year. Same with geno last year

McCaffrey, Tua and Allen all have better resumes this year than Lamar. Obviously not taking away from Lamar, I think he's awesome, but there are better performing players this year.
