Granted, I posted my comment in the best troll spirit of KZread Comment Section traditions, but I stil fail to see how Ed Skrein's foray into different roles deserve a notice - he's just starting out and he's not that interesting as an actor. If you want root for someone trying a different emplois, I think Kevin Hart in a serious role would be a lot more interesting to see.

there are alot of characters, I couldn't keep up with theiir names so I memorize them through their faces. The Dario recast totally confused me, I thought the long haired blond died & the hot bearded man is a new character. I have to say that I liked the recast, although the first one was a more likeable personification of the character bc he was a real badass, acting of the 2nd one was still okay and I'm just a fool for hot guys with beards. 😶😶

Stroma looks like he could really be related to sam. Tom harper looks like a Lannister. The original Mountain def looked meaner and looked related to the hound

Yeah, Stroma has a softer, more round face like sam's while Harper has a chiseled jaw

The second mountain made no sense, he looked malnourished. The third one as far as replacements go is cool except he's supposed to be the hounds older brother and Thor bjornson looks and is way younger than the dude who plays the hound.

Pretty much. The current mountain's actor is 30 years old while the hound's actor is 49. The first mountain's actor is 43, which is a bit closer in the right direction. The second mountain is 47, but obviously he didn't look good for that particular role.

The second actor to play Tommen actually looks like he could be first Tommen, just a bit older. Just so annoying that he already had a role in the show. The two who play Marcella look similar enough as well.

I thought that "the second Daario" was some random more special dothraki, then my friend told me he is supposed to be the long-haired guy from previous season... creators didn't even try to make them look similar

Daario was just ridiculous. When it introduced the new actor in season 4, I couldn't even tell who the character was for a long while. Sometimes recasts are necessary. Sometimes the actors give the show runners no choice. But at least TRY and make them look remotely similar to the previous actor!

Way more money goes into the CGi for Season 5 Night King than the one in Season6. They rely highly the make up and prosthetic now more than the CGI due to a) The actor got recast and b) The Night King will obviously be having way more screen time now onwards, compared to the "cameo" in Season 5 and even 6 for that matter

I hate the new look now. His face is way too stretched, and his eyes are way too close together. He looks comical compared to the season 5 one, who looked frightening as well as menacing. A rare example of CGI being better than practical. But even then, as much as it's been explained that they wanted to cut costs and go with practical effects, why didn't they do that, and also just stick with the season 5 Night King actor, rather than recast him entirely?!!

Daario recast bugged the hell out of me. Looks nothing like the first guy who played him and even though it was separated by a season it was only like 2 episodes later! How can an awesome show like GoT have so many recasts while a different show on the same level like Breaking Bad didn't have a single recast I can think of? Even the very minor characters stay consistent.

The re-casting of so many people definitely takes away from the overall feel of the series. If you were to only watch it once, you would probably leave a season quite confused.

Richard Brake of S5 IMO is more intimidating as the Nights King.

The Night King recast is my least favourite. The current one looks almost 'ugly', not saying the actor is, just as the Night King. Doesn't look as eerie as the old one. Also the prosthetics and cgi. The first one looks like ice, the current one just looks like he has blue skin.

A lot of these recasts were very confusing to the average GOT audience. there's so many characters already with uncommon names that it was already hard enough to keep up so when they changed faces all of a sudden, you're left kinda wondering "who the heck is this again?" Lol

Yes, very very well said. I didn’t even realize til this actual video that berick dondarian (I guessed w the spelling so I’m sure it’s wrong haha sorry) had even been in the show before. Thought the first time we were introduced to him was when he already had the eye patch and had Arya+gendry+the hound as his captives.

That explains why the mountain kept looking strange for me

Freddie Stroma recast was amusing. He decided to take the lead in Time After Time, a show that didn't even air all the episodes they made.

The "Season 7" in the title scared me a little that they recasted Beric Dondarrion and the Mountain and Daario.

Hah, I like that they actually chose to recast Tommen with another Lannister actor... family does look alike. I like that! And with younger childen it's not so bad. But generally it does make it really hard to follow sometimes if you're not so entrenched in the lore. I had no idea where Beric came from. And I was wondering what happened with The Mountain. I mean even his armour was totally different. (The King's guard armour also changes, and that was a bit distracting.)

It was only after Daario’s reacts that I realised he was meant to be a likable protagonist.

I remember going back and watching older episodes last year before season 6, and being confused with the first daario. it took me a little bit to figure out its the same character

The Mountain was completely different in Season 2. The 1st and 3rd Mountain was a brutal savage who barely talked and didn't seem very smart. While The 2nd Mountain seemed more like a civilized man with higher intelligence and talked more often and looked completely different. The 1st and 3rd actors also look pretty similar unlike the 2nd.

@@BuscoAlmas Comparing photos of the three actors, I must say I disagree. In my opinion, Conan Stevens has a completely different shape of both head and face, while Rory McCann and Ian Whyte both have very similar jaws and eyes.

The first time Daario had his new actor appear, Daenerys should've immidiately said something like, "Daario, come here" so we would know

I only just watched all of the show up to season 6 and frankly all these casting changes made me think that there were twice as many characters.

I came for the mountain, had no idea about the rest, but I am rewatching got and will pay attention to that now!!

I didn’t even realise that Dickson Tarley was recast. But the Tommen Baratheon recast was so obvious to me.

That's one big pet peeve of mine with movies or series when they change actors (exception is growing storylines and needing adult actors of course), but for the most part it sets me on edge knowing that they aren't the originals.

Dario and the mountain were the only ones I noticed while watching the show

fun fact, the actor that currently plays the mountain is only 1 year older than the actor that plays Jojen Reed

I'm guessing they used Ian Whyte because they didn't have a replacement lined up yet (since the first guy was cast as an Orc King in the Hobbit) and he happened to be the tallest guy on set.

Gregor is still played by the current actor. They shot a scene (in new Queensguard armor) in Durbovnik w. Lena and Nicolai (Cersei & Jaime).

It's crazy that I didn't noticed a single one while Binge watching
