I just buy what interests me and what I enjoy rather than what is new or hyped. I think it's clear that my collection is for me and not for YT 🤣 I am still doing a bit of blind buying though and I think that is showing with me not getting on with a few of these. Lesson relearnt hopefully! 2 really isn't a lot, that's great 👍 I hope you love them! I didnt add up how many I actually bought myself, but my bet is that it was 7/8. I don't think that's bad for someone with a channel. Thanks for watching 🥰

Bubble bath 😍does it have a Barbie doll head vibe ? I need to pull out my Chanel no5 and wear it again Yesterday I wore terracotta and it was so beautiful,I’m definitely taking a big decant of that to Jamaica I have so many dossier fragrances that I don’t feel the urge to buy any 🤷‍♀️

I loved your haul video Claire! I too had Green Lover and decluttered it. I loved looking at the bottle so much in my collection but it put me in mind of a gin & tonic crossed with a tic tac. It wasn’t expensive so I just gave it to a coworker and he finished it for me. I’m trying not to add any more 100 ml bottles to my collection either, unless they are mid-low partials, but I’m really intrigued about Bouquet Encore! Enjoy the weekend!

Thanks for sharing Claire! My favorite so far is Guerlain Angélique Noire. I had ruled out this fragrance because I would not pay $400 for 100ml. But, It was on ebay new in box, batch code from 1/2024 for $278!!! And I think the travel spray or 50ml size is definitely a better option. I hate that the beauty of the bottle & price per ml woos me toward the 100ml.

Hey Claire! I really love your videos ! I have recently gone to Sephora and I noticed that there were no Miss Dior testers. They may have been kept In 19:26 a cupboard ! I get annoyed when I see no testers in fragrance stores and I m still wondering how come that things that used to be given to us for free ( samples) we must now pay . I see people's rights are becoming restricted more and more and we don't react to it. Thanks for the video, always food for thought.

Thank you ❤️ yes! Here the testers are now attached via brackets to counters quite often so they can't be stolen! I get it because I have seen people steal them... Wow! We've never really ever had samples here in stores. I would have loved that! I get the occasional one through Insta, but that's really the only place where I seem them offered... Shopping is a very different experience these days! I totally get the lack of samples with smaller brands because they are pricey for them to make and time consuming, but I don't get it with larger brands... Thanks for watching 🥰

I've bought three perfumes so far: fracas, l'instant magicque, la petite robe noire intense and only yesterday Burberry godess, so they are four. Fracas was my absolute favourite and godess is my second most favourite.

I go nose blind to Coco Noir very early on in the wear- but I get compliments on it every time I wear it and surprisingly later on in the day when I can’t smell it at all. So many people have this experience with coco noir and it makes you think it doesn’t last long.

The L'orchestre are really worth the money, i've tried 3 and they are very good, i own Rose trombone for a year now and i must say its one of my favourite roses now, so good!

You've got lots of fragrances I've never heard of Claire. It's nice to hear about perfumes different from the usual suspects. I think I've heard Green Lover described as a minty gin and tonic. Sounds good to me! I've bought some fragrances this year, my favourites being Lost in the City and Phlur's Father Figure. Have a great weekend 🥰

I do get a bit of the gin feel in the drydown, but for me it's quite dense, it's not really fresh at all. I can send you some. I think it's interesting and a good inventive fragrance, just perhaps not me 😂 Aah Lost in the City I've seen a few times and wondered about, I really love some from Miller Harris. 😊 I've not tried anything from Phlur, did you have their discovery set? Did you try the others? If so, what did you think?

​@@dr.claire.perfumethanks Claire, it would be good to sample Green Lover. The only other Phlur fragrance I've tested is Tangerine Boy. It was nice but didn't blow my socks off. Father Figure is beautiful - powdery, woody with iris and fig. Just wish it was stronger but I believe all Phlur fragrances are on the quieter side. Lost in the City is great for hot days. It's quite tart with the rhubarb, which I find present most of the wear time, so may not be for you as I think you're not keen on sharp fragrances?

I enjoyed this vid 💛💛 I have been the *opposite* of restrained this year 😳 In my defense, the majority of my purchases are pre-loved or decants, so there is that. Totally agree re: finding travel sprays/decants. I have learned to be patient and in the end I usually find what I want. I have SO many bottles, I don’t need too much of *anything*!! I also bought a partial of RL Woman & agree with you: I like it, but am not reaching for it. I have Green Lover too and it’s gathering dust, but I don’t want to declutter it. It’s so unique and yeah, tic-tacs 👍🏻 I don’t know if I have a favorite purchase. I have been buying mostly 1) violet/iris and 2) middle eastern. I might need to sample Lipstick Rose! 💜🌹

I think secondhand is my licence to buy 🤦‍♀️ but at least I'm not spending crazy amounts of money when I have enough patience. The tic tac smell is very very distinctive! You know what?! I loved the Lipstick Rose in store, do you think I have fake??? I'm beginning to wonder. It's like it but without the grapefruit and much less rose. I wonder what's going on... I would recommend the one I tried in store. It was gorgeous 🥰

Ooh I love these round up vids of yours ❤ I am so happy that Dandy or Not has a new home and that you are getting some use out of it. Yes I did indeed use up Lemon Dulci, it was fantastic, thank you! Trying to think now what else has come into my life these first 6 months of the year... The Space NK edit... really love the travels of Eau des Sens, White Tea and Rose, Mohave Ghost. Annnnddd full bottle of Mojave Ghost. Partial of Chipmunk. Full bottle won of Star by Wales Perfumery, and travels of Fig Infusion and Lumiere Blanche. Love them all! My only regret this year was buying that flippin Charlotte Tilbury discovery set 😂 BUT, was only £20 and I have given that a new home now, along with some of the things in the SNK edit that weren't hits for me.

Dandy or Not is an infrequent wear but I have really enjoyed it! I wore it again about a week and a bit ago before it got hot. I think travel sprays are joyous aren't they?! I really love little bottles 😊 star was a fab win 👌 I need to talk about Wales Perfumery too! LOL 😂 I think we all regret the Charlotte Tilbury discovery set 😂 I don't think those have done well for her at all... 🥰

@@ems_h.eartnotes haha! Well me too! I don't want anything unwearable in my life or anything that people can smell me from Mars wearing. Just something nice for work is about my level. Although I do like a non-traditional gourmand occasionally, something that isn't just straight up vanilla. And I do like a punchier one, but mainly just for my own enjoyment rather than a "look at me". I doubt I will ever sell Dandy, but yes, I agree with you, 90ml is a lot, so never say never 😂 If Stash is autumn, then Dandy is spring. 👍

I am going to start buying more travel sprays. At this point, I don’t need full sized bottles or the biggest bottles of perfumes.

Jon was so kind to gift me Pitching Woo, I feel like a custodian of it. I've only worn it twice so far, it feels very precious and special. Bouquet Encore is worth a sniff. Not sure whether you have tried the others from l'Orchestre parfums, I've only tried Piano Santal, which was also stunning but a little sweet perhaps for me to want to wear regularly. Hmm! Happy belated birthday, Claire! Making it to 40 is great reason to celebrate with fanfare. Recently acquired Coco Noir, which, I agree is very much like Coco Mademoiselle but shy and quiet. I own 2 bottles of Lipstick Rose, which smells like 70s/80s lipstick from L’Oréal and Lancôme, the kind my mom and aunties wore. It’s nostalgic and I love that grapefruit note, too. Both my bottles smell the same to me. Definitely rose forward to my nose, with violet and Iris close by. Have a lovely weekend. ❤

I was quite shocked by Coco Noir, I really hadn't got a proper impression of it front trying it in store at all! It really is relatively quiet on me, quite demure. I don't understand where the grapefruit went in my Lipstick Rose... It's just not there at all! I wish it was more rosy too, like the one in store. I am beginning to wonder whether it's a fake 👀 it's similar but with particular aspects missing... I will try it again later in the year. Have a fab Sunday 🥰

Oh, Happy Late Birthday! The 40s is a wonderful decade. Enjoy every moment! Second hand fragrances are the way to go! I have been part of a vibrant indie oil community (BPAL, NAVA, Arcana Wildcraft, Alkemia, Solstice Scents, Possets etc) for the last decade and really appreciate the oportunities for resale. This year, however, for good or bad, I discovered dupes. Ouch! Not only am I investigating dupes, but the OGs that have inspired them (just samples or perfume counters however!) ETA To answer your question, perhaps my favorite purchase this year has been Linden Blossom Musk by House of Nocturne Alchemy. I got a half bottle from my favorite decanter of indies, Ajevie. It is a very fem, floral musk featuring linden flowers.

Interesting to see what you wanted these first six months. I agree with you on Coco Noir, not very noir but very pleasant nonetheless, one of my favorite Chanel is Eau Première, the first lemony version in the tall bottle, not the vanilla formulation in the square bottle. I had been quite restrained the first two quarters but not at the moment, I'm buying too much really but it's the month of my birthday and like you it's mainly 10 and 15ml sprays.

Wow, I didn't realise there were two versions! I think I've only tried the square bottle. 🤔 I don't think trying Coco Noir in store gave me a full impression of it. I think I only understood it when I'd worn it a few times. It feels very demure and quiet. Perfect for the office really! I think I also go through "good" phases of not buying much and then crazy stages where I seem to pick up a lot of stuff... My plans of reducing my collection this year aren't going too well, but I guess when you look at my actual purchases, this is only 7/8 perhaps? Either way, I'm enjoying my collection, so perhaps I shouldn't worry. Thanks for watching 🥰

Oh and no fails so far and my favorite buy is Arquiste Flor Y Canto that I first sampled 12 years ago.

Good morning Claire. Re the sample bottles not on display in department stores, when I’ve asked if they have the latest release of something, they usually get it out of a drawer and not have it on display straight away because they often get stolen! Heard that at a few fragrance stands. Like you, I have been trying not to get 100ml bottles now. When ordering samples I’ve been getting 5mls, that way by the time I’ve finished it, I’m ready to move on, or commit to something larger. Trying not to blind buy unless it’s second hand. I have a 30mlXerjoff Quattro Pizzi on the way. Bought from a Facebook fragrance page here. No idea whether I’ll love it or hate it. Tuberose and coconut together. 🤞 😃🇦🇺

Hello 👋 yes! I think that must also be part of the reason too! I've noticed a lot of the designer fragrance stores now have the perfumes bolted down with brackets here... I have watched people steal testers though, so I do get it! It's a shame! I did go to Harvey Nichols again on Thursday and they had the bottles out, but I got a terse, "can I help you?" as soon as I touched one 😂 I tried my first ever Xerjoff on Thursday actually! I tried Starlight ✨ I enjoyed it! I need to try more, Quattro Pizza sounds like one I'd enjoy. I'm a sucker for tropical tuberoses. I think that's pretty much my rules too, blind buys are secondhand or at least under £30, so hopefully I can resell if I don't love them. I still do blind buy, but I am trying not to do it as much because I don't think I'm good at guessing what I might enjoy. 😂 5ml samples sounds like a fab system! If you get through 5ml, you know what you think of it and whether you love it. Happy Sunday 🥰

Sorry that you ended up with a different formulation of la Colle Noir, i didn't know it had been changed. Happy to send you more for reference. Have you tried Paris Paris, it's not the same as la Colle Noir but it has a touch of it, along with Gris Dior. Probably worth a sniff

I own and love both Green Lover and Lipstick Rose. Funny how we perceive things differently; I never noticed a grapefruit note in Lipstick Rose so now I need to smell it with that in mind and see what I get! I am very intrigued by L'Orchestre Parfums Bouquet Encore and now I want to find a decant somewhere. Ahhh, I'm so easily influenced, lol :o)

Part Deux Yes Lipstick Rose I absolutely loved. It's a shame the grapefruit has gone, it's the part I struggle with but it wouldn't be the same without it. That Sana J video was great Yes Bouquet Encore is such a wonderful one. I can see why so many like it. The spices definitely add alot to it. And yes our tastes are very different. I checked the batch code, it seems my little bottle of lipstick rose is quite old. Maybe it's the modern version with grapefruit... I don't know. Thank you! I really enjoyed trying the Sana Jardin fragrances. I can't say I loved them all, but there wasnt anything I hated and I think that's a first 🤣 Bouquet encore has to be special if we ALL love it. ☺️ No problem Jon, you are the biggest gift that YT has given me. They were really lovely and very responsive to my questions. There was no pressure at all from them either. I would rate them as lovely people as well as a brand with some good fragrances and seemingly ethical practices. I actually didn't dislike any of their fragrances but there were certainly some which were not really my scent profile. They are worth trying. 🥰

Gosh! When are you actually moving?! It must be soon? When you were outside the other day or maybe on a porch? I'm not sure... I wondered whether you had already moved?! Definitely! I have won a few things on Instagram (5 now? 🤔) that I would never normally have tried or thought to buy. I have enjoyed my wins and they've opened me up to new brands. 😊

I haven't bought as many scents this year, actually no way near as many as last year. That maybe is something to with sobriety. A differently way of living, call it decluttering the mind!

It is a very calm and easy one to wear. Ralph L is not a brand I've tried much from at all. Them Boucherrons have always got a lot of love. Ah this Dior I'm not sure I loved it loads. It's been a long time. Well the L to V to the MH would definitely reformulate to make everything that bit cheaper for them 😉. I do love many from the line. Ah the MoV the bottles are very nice. Testers in cupboards... Leeds ain't what it used to be 😂. They were out in Harrods up here. That was a bargainous travel size. I do alwsys like a bit of lily. Ah Pitching Woo, now that is a fragrance I don't have words for. Elise is just fantastic. There's nothing at all like it that I've ever smelt. It's very special to me. When it's empty I want the bottle 🤣. I think you definitely will smell amazing in it. Yes the mystery Humbug in there is nice and that ice-cream thing isn't remotely sickly. They are very blooming good. Yes PS do great versions. I love my Oud Wood and Black Opium from them, also their Reflection Man is fan. Raspberry V is gone but that was an amazing creation. Matt is very good and a top chap. Bubble Bath was a pleasant one, it didn't really blow me away. Yes it smells of them ones we had in our youth. Coco Noir was something I wanted to love. I wanted a Noir version of Coco, come on Chanel a dark version... OK it's Chanel 😂 that ain't gonna happen. It's very citrusy and happy isn't it sadly.

Did I send you Green Lover Jon? I need to get you to review it if not. It's interesting and not bad by any standards it's just not me. The vanilla really isn't what I normally gravitate towards, I find it a bit cloying on me. I think la colle noire is a bit too mainstream for you. It is me really but it's pretty and classic. If it gathers dust, it will be resold. Yes, well clearly the Metro Centre is a classier joint than central Leeds 😂 I'm happy I persisted with imperial emerald, who knows how that ambroxan will go over summer though, we will see 👀 Thank you so much for Pitching Woo and for Iles Vierge, they are treasured. 🥰 It's weird with Pocket Scents, last time I was on their website they didn't have much AT ALL, but I know they discontinue and bring things back all the time so they could just be a state of change. I might do another one about batch codes, but actually the things to look out for are likely to be different across different brands other than batch codes. We are real perfume maniacs. Buying fragrances just to smell them 😄 I did the same thing way too many times. I agree with you on Coco Noir, I do smell Mademoiselle in it! The patchouli part of it is so strong and so similar! :)

Yep... I tried it so many times in store but it's different when you wear it from your own bottle because you spray in a different way and in different locations to where you do in store. Sometimes it seems to make a huge difference. Coco Noir is one of those for me 🙃 thanks for watching 🥰

I don’t tend to go for scents of rose in fragrance, although I like the scent of rose in rosewater, candles, bath stuff. Not sure why that is

I think a lot of people have a similar feeling. It sounds odd, but I feel like rose is out of fashion a little right now. If you look at designer fragrances, there are few new releases being marketed with prominent rose. I wonder why really... For me, I think I like the fresher roses and the more sparkly sweet roses and darker roses. I'm do like powdery rose, but there needs to be something interesting with it. 🥰

Good morning Claire!! I always remember hearing Veronica talking about Green Lover.. I’ve never tried it because I could tell I wouldn’t like it, but I love the way you’ve described it! It helps me realize even more clearly that it would not be for me ..but I understood exactly how it smelled by your explanation! 😊 Creamy fizzy minty ice cream actually sounds really good! How nice of Jon to gift this to you! 💛 Bubble Bath is such a confusing scent to me.. There is something very strong in it that I can’t figure out but I’m in the process of testing it and trying different layering combos with it. At times I think I like it and others I’m not sure.. 🤔😅 Yes I’m so much more into travel sprays right now, it just makes more sense. Not that I’d never buy full bottles again, but it’s good to mix in plenty of travels for sure! ❤ I’d really love to try out some more from L’Orchestre Parfums, I’ve heard great things about some of their other scents, but it’s hard to find samples! I think they have a nice rose one, and then one called mono cachemire.. and of course the bouquet encore! Always lots to explore in this perfume arena!! 😂

I perhaps should have paid more attention 😂 sadly she's ghosted me now since my influencer video, she didn't explain why and then commented on someone else's video about me 😢 Jon is truly fab, such a good friend, I think he is the greatest gift that YT has given me. I've read people say that they think it's patchouli that's what people don't get on with in Bubble bath, I'm not sure I agree, I think it's more the aldehydes for me, but I realise that it splits opinions. It's a shame. I didn't do that video for views, I actually thought it would harm me, I almost didn't post it, but I did it because I had just been so naïve to begin with and I wondered whether everyone else felt like that and also that company who wouldn't talk to me after I mentioned charity and the one that offered 5% to have a shop front but who don't sell in the UK really annoyed me! We all know who they are... Maybe that was why I was ghosted? I don't know... I don't know with Bubble Bath, you've got me curious to wear it again and see ☺️ Someone who loves l'Orchestre parfums sent me the Mono Cashmere sample saying that she disliked it... I am quite curious to smell that now. I will prioritise it and let you know, I do think we have randomly quite opposite taste sometimes and quite similar at other times so I'm not sure it will help you though. ☺️

Funny how stores are keeping perfumes in cupboards. I was in John Lewis recently and wanted to try Paradoxe Intense; it was displayed but locked in some contraption I couldn't even eorknout how to sample it. The SA told me they did it because people were stealing perfumes 😂.

I also love Misia! I think that might be my favourite from Chanel that I've tried so far! I honestly absolutely loved Lipstick Rose in store, I think if you enjoy Misia and it's like the bottles in store, you will love it... I have checked the batch code and this little travel spray is actually quite old, so I am not sure whether that could explain the differences with the bottle in store... 🤔 I will retry it when it's cooler and see how it goes. Sana Jardin are worth sniffing, mostly they are not overly complex fragrances but some are just really easy to wear and likeable. Thanks for watching and good luck with your purchase 🥰

Some of my most recent purchases are: Armani My Way Floral & Nectar, Ocean and Acqua Di Gioia Intense.. couldn’t resist the BOGO sale so I caved! Absolutely love them all, but wasn’t too impressed with the new Intense version..a little too fruity. Also got an Olympea tester.. really like it, but typically find myself layering it with Versace Versense or Alien Goddess just to lighten it up a bit. Also went down the Middle Eastern rabbit hole and found myself mostly disappointed lol.. I think there’s a certain synthetic musk that’s used in so many that I find a bit screechy to my nose. Although I’m sort of liking Mohra Silky Rose, Ego Exotic and Tharwah..my family likes them on me at least 😂 I really want to focus more on the fragrances I have and learn how to layer them effectively enough where buying new ones would be redundant. So far I’m enjoying the challenge, especially using Donna Karan’s Cashmere Mist with summery scents, ie Mambo, Lust For Sun, Alien Goddess, etc.. it’s one of the better layering tools I’ve found (through the advice of a fellow frag friend) and the results have been so lovely. Happy 40th 🎉 it’s a great age! ❤

I have had similar issues with a low hit rate... Moon Palace is on my list of things I would be interested to try, it sounds luscious. I need some help actually, I got my hands on a vintage bottle of alien, which I enjoy quite a lot, but the cap with the sprayer head had been removed and then placed back on the bottle, but it’s not sealed anymore. The perfume doesn’t spray, it just sort of dribbles out which is a waste. What is the trick for removing the part of the mechanism with the long straw so that I can transfer it into a bottle that actually works?

I tend to get secondhand because I'm quite environmentally conscious. I buy a lot of secondhand clothing too, even jewellery. Even my engagement ring and wedding ring were secondhand. I also buy a lot of fragrance, so economically, it makes sense. E.g la colle noire, approx 25ml secondhand inc postage, £23 secondhand, £125 for 40ml new, for me, that's a no brainer. 🥰

So glad to see your entire new purchases in one video and glad to hear that you like now Chanel fragrances. I guess many of us have this kind of experience with Chanel fragrances, where we cannot see ourselves wearing them and then just the magic happens and we really enjoy them. Great video as always Claire 🤩🤩🤩

Hi Claire! I loved seeing the rundown of your recent purchases. LL Green Lover sounds like something I need to try. I love Chanel perfumes. I don’t own Coco Noir but I find it lovely. It’s definitely a flanker of Coco Mademoiselle not the original Coco, my all time favourite. Frederic Malle perfumes are outrageously expensive. I’ve not tried Lipstick Rose, but Insolence was a scrubber for me.🫣

Yes, you might enjoy Green Lover, it's not bad at all, it's just not me. I can't deal with vanilla sometimes when it's warm and thick. I agree, Frederic Malle fragrances can be very expensive. I would love a travel spray of Carnal Flower though. I am going to go back and retry Lipstick Rose again, my travel spray appears to be quite old judging by the batch code. Thanks for watching 🥰
